    Telemarketers ... it's better to just hang up and let them get on to the next call than to sit there and yell at them or worse, give them false hope that they are about to get a sale.

    But wasting their time is both fun and productive. If nobody ever does this to telemarketers, the world will be an emptier place.

    It's insidious. I mean, I knew he had to have huge BALLS to pull the stuff he has, but I thought his level of aggression was usually associated with a specific type of 'low self esteem', so to speak. From the pic it appears that I was horribly horribly wrong.

    Honestly, if you're going to get deeply offended by a word that appears on the internet, where you're willing to concede the original author may not have even realised the significance and/or potential offensiveness of said word to a small subset of the worlds population as a whole --I'm sorry to say the internet is not for you.

    Who's deeply offended? The conversation seems to be about the relative offensiveness of 'gypped,' which I think the consensus is that it's definitely less offensive than jewing and the n-word, but surely more offensive than a tasty cake.

    People can, however, point out the relative offensiveness of something without having to themselves experience violent inner turmoil. Whenever someone uses the n-word in an inappropriate manner in my presence, I bring it up if I feel it's worth it. For example, I think calling Senator Larry Craig a faggot-basher is inoffensive, because the linguistic construct implies his disdain for homosexuals. Others (my ex, for one) find this inappropriate. I tend to keep these word selections to myself.

    Which I suppose leaves us at "When in unknown company, say nothing", but that would make conversation a little dull.

    First, I think the Japanese have a mode of conduct suitable to perusing the tubes. Second, I didn't say that. Third, if you're not with us, you're a donkey's cousin. Similarly, if I think people would do service to other people by being judicious about their choice of words, I must be the kind of person suddenly overtaken by the desire to dance cheerfully about in full Nazi regalia.

    I think that a good rule of thumb is that if you could be reasonably concerned that what you are going to say might offend someone if you said it in a room full of 50 random people, consider whether it's worth it to say. Then say it, or not, and deal with people's comments.

    Consider. I way 150lbs, so an equivalent feline would weigh 150lbs * ( 300 / 800 ) = 56lbs that's 25kilos

    About half the size of this cat here.

    So a imposing kitty by all means, but I do't think it could take me down.

    Amazingly, Google is unable to find pictures of 56lb cats so that I can estimate their fighting skills, the closest is Katy, a 50lb Russian cat from here

    It seems to me that the size of a cat doesn't increase it's combat effectivness. Indeed a hungry and fit 7kilo cat with quick claws and ninja ambush training would be more of a threat.
