Re: Uhm...
Those were Trump's words, not mine.
As I said earlier, his campaign later contradicted what he said in the debate. So it's hard to know what his position on H1B was or is.

Re:Oh no that sucks!
And I'm saying this is why the Dems are so recalcitrant about stopping any flow of 3rd worlders into the US.
Other way around. This is why the REPUBLICANS are so adamant in stopping them. It isn't about protecting borders or protecting us bad hombres or terrorists or anything like that.
Because they vote Democrat.
No, because they won't vote Republican.
Imagine if there were a magic portal from Fundieland, where productive safe white fundamentalist Christians were being persecuted and killed by evil atheists.
So if we started taking Fundieland refugees and shoveling them by the millions into California, changing the voting demographics there to Republican, I guarantee all of this "refugees welcome" crap would turn around really fucking fast.
Nah, it would be the "refugees get out" rhetoric from Republicans that will be changing really fast.

Re: why should i care?`
Really, how many documented cases of speakers being prevented can you provide? How many injuries? How many hospitalizations?
Here are a few:
(1) Berkeley riots, which injured people, and caused the university to cancel a speech by Milo Yiannopoulos:
The university insists that it made elaborate preparations for protests. It canceled the speech only after what it called an “unprecedented” invasion of the campus by “more than 100 armed individuals clad all in black” who engaged in violent, destructive behavior. They hurled metal barricades, threw Molotov cocktails and smashed windows at the student union.
The event was cancelled after left-wing rioters, who the university claim were not students, smashed ATMs and bank windows, looted a Starbucks, beat Trump supporters, pepper sprayed innocent individuals, set fires in the street, and sprayed the words “Kill Trump” on storefronts.
Video was posted showing violent leftists chasing and beating a man with sticks.
The man appears unconscious in the street as they beat him.(2) A speech at Middlebury College was severely disrupted by protesters. After the speech, when the speaker and Professor Allison Stanger left, they were attacked, and Prof. Stnager's neck was injured:
Then I went onstage, got halfway through my first sentence, and the uproar began.
First came a shouted recitation in unison of what I am told is a piece by James Baldwin. I couldn’t follow the words. That took a few minutes. Then came the chanting.
. . .
This went on for about twenty minutes.
. . .
Professor Stanger and I were led out of the hall to the improvised studio.
. . .
Then there was the sound of shouting outside, followed by loud banging on the wall of the building. . . . Then a fire alarm went off, which was harder to compete with.
. . .
We finished around 6:45 and prepared to leave the building . . . I didn’t see it happen, but someone grabbed Allison’s hair just as someone else shoved her from another direction, damaging muscles, tendons, and fascia in her neck. There, several masked protesters, who were believed to be outside agitators, began pushing and shoving Mr. Murray and Ms. Stanger, Mr. Burger said. “Someone grabbed Allison’s hair and twisted her neck,” he said. . . . After the two got into a car, Mr. Burger said, protesters pounded on it, rocked it back and forth, and jumped onto the hood. Ms. Stanger later went to a hospital, where she was put in a neck brace.
(3) About 600 people protested the immigration ban at the Portland Airport. There was a 4-person counter-protest:
One of the counter-demonstrators was assaulted just after 5 p.m., Port of Portland spokesman Steve Johnson said.
Grant Chisholm, 39 of Portland told The Oregonian/Oregonlive that he was at the airport with three other members of the group Bible Believers for a counter-protest when a Trump opponent hit him in the head three times with something metallic. Chisholm dropped and drifted in and out of unconsciousness, he said, while vomiting a

Re:BS
There has been a lot of shady business going on by 'climate scientists' to advance their cause and keep the money train flowing.
Here is just a single example - there are hundreds.
The media is very selective about what they report and until the mainstream media gets out of bed with the climate change wackoes we probably won't get to hear unbiased information. -
Re:Trial of the Century? Nah.
The obama adminstration would go first. Especially after they decided punt a person with probable terrorism ties through the vetting process and bypass the entire thing. Hope you enjoy that new probe of the previous administration actively endangering the lives of your fellow americans.

Re:Interesting timing re Trump's claims
I was presenting Clapper as an alternative to "nobody." And, as I mention above somewhere, Obama has denied it too. So, which president do you think is telling the truth? It's not both.
-
Re:Interesting timing re Trump's claims
I'll concede that James Clapper's credibility isn't stellar, but it still contradicts GP's assertion that "nobody has denied." Would Obama be any more credible?
FTA:“Neither President Obama nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any U.S. citizen. Any suggestion otherwise is simply false," said Kevin Lewis, a spokesman for the former president.
Also, James Comey asked the DOJ to deny the assertions, but that stops just short of being an actual denial.
Trump might not have any real credibility but...as much as any of the other three letters.
Are you really saying that information coming to us from DJT is as trustworthy as information being published by the FBI/NSA/CIA?

Re:Teaching moment
Yes, like these chaps.
Oh my.
-
Re:Teaching moment
Meanwhile, we have dozens of events where gangs of liberals attack people simply walking on the sidewalk near a Trump event.
Sounds like you have either a police problem, as if your allegations were real, you'd have a great deal of actual criminal conspiracies to prosecute which has been mysteriously ignored, or a psychiatric issue, where you make up stuff as part of your deranged rants.
Given your choice in President, and his own behavior, I'm saying it's more likely the latter. He did just spend the weekend ranting over a wiretap. After spending a week putting out fires over a perjured attorney general. And after a failed executive order that was laughably written.
I suggest you stop, and get medical treatment, before Trump actually manages to destroy healthcare with the help of the even crazier elements of the Republican party. After that, well, you'll be lucky for any kind of treatment to be available, unless you're individually wealthy and can fly in a private doctor from overseas.
But hey, remember these guys?
Oh noes!

I would buy a Mustang at $25K, or maybe a 911 that is a few years old and have fun driving it and save the rest because pissing money away will eventually leave you with none (just ask most multi-million dollar lottery winners http://fortune.com/2016/01/15/... and a slew of celebrities http://www.foxnews.com/enterta... ). People who buy $100k plus cars very likely have tiny dicks and got their money by being lucky, not good. That or they have so much money they don't know what to do with it.

Re: Overboard, Sad!
Factcheck.org are currently a bunch of progressive shills and liars. Their name is currently an oxymoron. They should be called conflate_and_confuse.shill. You fell into their trap of conflating gun homicides with homicides (GUN HOMICIDES != ALL HOMICIDES). If you get murdered, you don't care what killed you, you are just unhappy because you were murdered. I will say it slowly for all the libtards in the audience. In all of the concealed carry states, when gun ownership/legal carry was made more/available, the TOTAL HOMICIDE RATE AND TOTAL VIOLENT CRIME RATES WENT DOWN, A LOT (25-35% OR MORE). CONCEALED CARRY BY LAW ABIDING CITIZENS DETERS CRIME EFFECTIVELY, USUALLY WITHOUT THE DISCHARGE OF THE FIREARM...
http://www.washingtontimes.com...
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015...Conversely, when the UK/Ireland/Jamaica/Washington DC/Chicago banned firearms, their murder and/or violent crime rates all spiked up markedly... Progressives, put down your reality distortion field. No one is buying your bullshit anymore. Citizens should be able to concealed carry as spelled out in the constitution for the same reason that police officers carry: firearms are very good at projecting superior force over a distance.

More McDonalds genius marketing ideas
Candlelight dinner at McDonalds? Anyone remember this one? I remember them trying to his out in the late 80's and my Mom and I just bust out laughing reading the table mats thinking "Is this a joke?"
Or who can forget the "Make it Bacon!" campaign? They own the trademark. I can't find something to show it but McDonalds was test-driving a thing where you could add bacon to anything for a small extra fee. I used to be out on the road a lot and a buddy of mine and I rolled up to a McDonalds drive thru circa 1999 and were like "WTF?" I'm pretty sure it was in a more rural area.

Re:So much winning...
It took about 1.5 hours for someone to blame the Obama administration. You guys are losing it.
Don't let those facts hurt you. But if you think that this is "blame" and "bad" you're wrong? You're going to find very few people who see this entire episode as a bad thing, all the Obama administration do was help Trump out. And even the most rabid supporters in
/pol/ and /r/The_donald agree openly that all this does is help Trump. If you don't understand that, then I'll explain: Exposing people who lied to those up the chain, and having them thrown out for being shitty liars does nothing but improve the standing of the administration. You're likely also going to see media like politico and wapo claim that "this is the end, it's all bad." You'll also likely from regular people as a good thing as well, because they believe that there have been enough liars and opportunist in the political elite. And they voted for a president who was: Not the political elite, and campaigned on removing those who were, or were out for their own game. Which was what Flynn was doing -- in both cases.

Except that USDA statement is a LIE.
"The review of APHIS' website has been ongoing, and the agency is striving to balance the need for transparency with rules protecting individual privacy.
In 2016, well before the change of Administration, APHIS decided to make adjustments to the posting of regulatory records.
In addition, APHIS is currently involved in litigation concerning, among other issues, information posted on the agency's website.
While the agency is vigorously defending against this litigation, in an abundance of caution, the agency is taking additional measures to protect individual privacy.
These decisions are not final. Adjustments may be made regarding information appropriate for release and posting."A blatant and stupid lie.
Trump administration forgets that people from the Obama administration are still alive and around.Matt Herrick, director of Communications of USDA under Obama, tweeted this regarding the disappearing of animal abuse reports:
Decision by @usda 2 remove animal abuse reports not required.
Totally subjective. Same option given 2 past admin. We refused. #transparencyAnd it's not the first (and probably not the last) time that Trump administration, once caught doing something they shouldn't be doing, tries to blame it on Obama.
Like the Muslim ban, Yemen raid fiasco (BTW, that was "winning"), Trump's disastrous calls to Mexican and Australian heads of state... and now this.

Please put down your KoolAid and re-enter reality
First, to all the liberal progressive mods, if you are so right in your beliefs, write a post and show where I am wrong. -1 Overrated is not your personal censorship tool for views you disagree with. You are supposed to champion tolerance of others, live it. I am not a huge fan of Trump, I voted against him in the primary, but as a rational human being, the cognitive dissonance from the progressive left wing is too massive to let go unchallenged.
So Trump upholds the constitution, appoints a constructionist supreme court judge who will protect the constitution and bill of rights as written (not an activist judge who believes that the constitution can mean whatever the hell he wants it to), and you are comparing him to Hitler? You are taking the few good things that Hitler did for the Germans, like building roads and airports (many other good leaders have also built roads and airports for their countries the world over) and using that as justification to compare Trump to Hitler? By your logic Dwight D. Eisenhower was just like Hitler, because he championed the US interstate freeway system. Please tell me you are not really this stupid?
Take a look at the list of actions he has taken thus far and tell me which ones have hurt you (not traumatized you emotionally based on Democrat demagoguery). Which of these actions send brown shirts to your house in the middle of the night? Which ones force everyone to like Trump (have you turned on a TV in the last year, hatred for Trump is on 90% of the channels), or outlaw a religion (as far as I know, only the progressive left and Obama tried to attack freedom of religion by forcing Little Sisters of the Poor to support abortion and Christian bakers to support homosexual marriages or lose their business). (It is interesting that this was not tried with a Muslim bakery, I wonder why). Which executive actions authorize incarceration of innocent people? (Sorry, illegal aliens are criminals, by entering the country without permission they have committed a crime, no mater how hard you wish that were not the case.)
Trump has signed executive orders to:
- Kill TPP
- Protecting LGBT from workplace discrimination
- Banned fed officials from becoming lobbyists for 5 years
- Lifetime ban on WH officials becoming lobbyists for foreign countries
- 120 day travel ban (not permaban) on visitors from terrorist hotbeds (Obama banned travelers/refugees from the same countries for 6 months after they found to terrorists had made it through the vetting process)
- Authorized the border "wall" that democrats voted for many years ago but never funded, a wall similar to walls all non-island nations have to protect their borders. Check out how Mexico treats illegal entry at it's southern border.
- Approved the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines, so you don't have to pay $4/gal for gas like you did under Obama, which was essentially a tax on poor working people who have to commute longer on averagehttp://www.foxnews.com/politic...
If popular support for unpermitted immigration was so high, progressives could easily change the laws to eliminate our borders completely, but only the loonytoon left wants that. Every country must control its borders. The US still allows over 1,000,000 immigrants a year, the most immigrants of any nation on the planet. Australia won't accept any illegal immigrants and it takes its illegal immigrants and detains them indefinitely on an island with conditions so bad that they are setting themselves on fire. (But there is no moral outrage on the left for this apparently, only that Trump doesn't want to take in potential terrorists that Australia doesn't want).

Re:Meaningless
I read about things.
You READ about things? Well, stop the presses then! With literally millions of news sources, could you cite something at least a bit specific?
Voting machines being few and defective in Democratic areas.
States run the elections and voting places, so why would Democrats tamper with voting machines in their own areas?
Voter ID laws combined with closing offices that issue licenses in heavily Democratic areas.
Voter ID laws prevent illegals and dead people from voting, not to mention preventing people from voting multiple times. Again, why would Democratic states close offices earlier if it impacts Democrats from voting?
Illegals and dead people do not vote in significant amounts. This is the sort of fraud that would be easy to find lots of examples of it it were going on, and we haven't seen them.
Funny, but Google pulls up enough examples of voter fraud:
- Hidden Camera: NYC Democratic Election Commissioner: They Bus People Around to Vote
- North Carolina Hillary Supporter Brags on Facebook about Voting Multiple Times
- Double Voting - Even Triple Voting - Found in US Elections
- Democrat Confirms Rampant Voter Fraud
- CBS4 Investigation Finds People Voting Twice
- Detroit Recount Reveals Major Vot Fraud by Dems
- A JMU Student has allegedly registered 19 dead people to vote
Read some real news sometime.
May I suggest the same to you?

It's closer, however not because of Trump. He moved it back probably to just 6:00 PM. However North Korea is trying to get the H bomb, want us to believe they have one and they're exporting this knowledge to bad countries, such as Iran.
Hillary while she was Scty of state worked out a deal for Russians to get Uranium from Canada - https://www.nytimes.com/2015/0... (NY Times because so many of you don't believe anything else). Now they're giving it to Iran - http://www.foxnews.com/world/2... .
We know they want bombs. We know they can do it. What could go wrong, right? Mad Mad Mad world folks.

Election 2016 sums it up
People have no idea how badly they're been screwed
First of all we need to talk about California in particular to get some kind of an intuition for this.
The 2016 results for California are the fifth largest win, ever, for a poplar vote win in California. In elections that California has had a large popular vote win, it has always been the case that the country as a whole was very partisan towars a particular candidate, or indeed against a particular candidate or mandate:
I cite these for reference, starting with the election of 1928 - the closest comparison of popular vote share in Californian history . ie.e ie in 1928, the Republican party won California by 31% of popular vote. In 2016, the Democrats won it by 29%.
But, the thing is, in 1928 it was an overall landslide
Electoral vote Hoover (Rep.) 444 Smith (Dem.) 87 Popular vote 21,427,123 15,015,464Hoover kiled Smith, and California was just another symptomatic piece of that.
And not just that election, in every election where there has been a massive popular vote win in California, there has been a massive electoral college and popular vote win nationwide:
1920: Cox Harding (Rep.) 404 Cox (Dem.) 127 Popular vote 16,144,093 9,139,661
1936: Roosevelt (Dem.) 523 Landon (Rep.) 8 Popular vote 27,747,636 16,679,543
1904: T. Roosevelt (Rep.) Parker (Dem.) Popular vote 7,630,457 5,083,880
So, hopefully I've managed to convince you that it's very peculiar that California would in 2016 have a massive popular vote win and that somehow this was not reflected in the overall results. Something's got to give. Either there were irregularities with California, or there were irregularities with the rest of country and not Califonia. I beleive there were regularities across the county but just much worse in California.
You may not like the following source if you're a liberal - Fox - but I cite it:
It's just an example and not proof of widespread voter fraud, but where there's smoke there tends to be fire.
The billionaire, George Soros predicted Trump would win the popular vote by a landslide and lose the electoral college.
He was heavily vested in the election (to the tune of $1 billion) so I'm going to assume hea meant what he said. And it's not just California:
Massive Non-Citizen Voting Uncovered in Maryland
Colorado Voter Fraud Runs Rampant
3.7 percent of voters in Burlington’s last big election not on rolls
Extensive voter fraud from DNC covered by Project Veritas:
Detroit irregularities

Re:'Developed a Clear Preference' For Trump
The "Don't be a little bitch." rule. You can QQ all you want, but you should expect others to tell you to STFU when you do because everyone's sick of hearing it.
Translation: I can't stand hearing what you're saying, so I'm going to whine and pout, and cry a bunch of crocodile tears and yell at others to shut up because of my own weakness.
See how that works? You try to silence others, you just prove them right to speak out against you. But we get it, you supported a petulant child, and want to act like a toddler yourself, but that only makes other people recognize how full of bullshit you are.
Of course, it doesn't help you that false claims like "massive landslide" and "political mandate" abound.
That's right, so obsessed with appearances, they claim, falsely, to be a dramatic winner, when the reality is starkly different.
No, I think we'll stick with the mockery. It's what you deserve. You've earned it, and will keep earning it. Not only did Trump lose the popular vote, he can't even admit it, but has to make up stories about illegal voters.
Which makes it even more relevant.
That gets under your skin, I suspect.

Hey, it's not so bad that he messed it up. He can blame auto-correct (although unpresidented is not a word any auto-correct should recognize).
The bigger issue is that he's involving himself in international affords before assuming office.
-
Hyperbole aside, there are real fraudsters...
Seemingly lost in the hyperbolic arguments above is that fake news websites phishing for clicks and ad revenue are a very real thing and if you haven't heard then you're just not paying attention... here's Fox News talking about it: http://video.foxnews.com/v/521... The original Slate article focuses heavily on the more controversial 3rd-party fact-checking so many arguing about, but this Wired article on Facebook's policy has a slightly different emphasis. https://www.wired.com/2016/12/... Most noteably Wired gives more details in how Facebook says they will check the source domains of articles to see if they are traceable to fake or spoofed websites and ultimately attempt to deincentivize fake news creators by hitting them in their ad revenue/pocketbooks. Facebook is trying to reduce the effect of fraudsters who are well documented by left and right leaning news sources. Rational people would keep the argument focused there.
It's disheartening to read the hyperbole, misdirection, and insults through this discussion on both sides. I've been less impressed with the contributions to Slashdot over the last year and this discussion is a new low for me.

Re: Environment Trumps money!
Lastly, where is the investigation in California?
Nobody cares. California only votes Democrat, so no one is going to put resources into investigating
I can only find instances from Illinois and Ohio. Although the LA Times reported back in 2002 that non-citizens testified that they voted in the Compton, CA mayor's race.
There was the US House Oversight Committee report which reported that:
9th--The California Secretary of State announced that an INS analysis of 1,100 persons enrolled in Hermandad citizenship classes had discovered 490 documented non-citizens who registered to vote in CA 46. Of these, 303 actually voted illegally in CA 46, and 69 individuals had no record in INS files.
But those investigations just don't happen very often, because most California elections so rarely matter.
-
Re:and tomorrow
There were a couple instances of this occurring; one in Oregon and one in Colorado that I know of.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015...If they had merely refused and accepted the small fine for not living up to the legal duties of a public business, we'd never have heard of the case.
I don't think so because in Colorado there is blatant hypocrisy in the enforcement of the law. Like anything there is more to it than just the headlines of course.

Re:Unclear
Provable, eh? So, tell me how a middle class white guy is more privileged than Obama. How is a white family in a trailer park more privileged than Jonathan Butler?
If there is privilege, wouldn't Asians be the top of the list of privileged? They make more money and are better educated than any other demographic in the USA. Where is the Asian privilege?
You know why 'race/gender/orientation' privilege is bullshit? It takes complex socioeconomic circumstances an individual may experience and reduce them down to a single attribute to be extrapolated to a group that shares that attribute. Where is that same logic applied anywhere else that isn't thoroughly rejected as bullshit?
Racists and sexists use that bullshit to justify racist behavior. Like this cunt or this bitch.
When is statistical disparity not indicative of racism? Or is the NBA and NFL just a bunch of racists because of black privilege in sports.
