Re:Some background on the formats
Yes, I also forgot to say that that the PS3 will use Blu-ray. Don't know in the USA, but here in Europe, and in Japan, it's a huge point for that format.

Re:Who is this dude?
Ah, excuse me, my firefox used the spanish version of imdb, these are the english links:
Uwe Boll
Alone in the dark
Alone in the dark... such a great game! I didn't play versions two and three (they needed a 486!), but the first was really, really good.

Who is this dude?
Ten minutes aho I didn't know how this man was, so I checked it and this is the result: it looks like he is a german film director somewhat specialized in games-based movies.
His latest seems to be Alone in the dark (scoring an incredibly low 2.2 out of 10)... it has to be real crap to score that low, it's very strange for a movie to be under the 5 in imdb!

Others
Althought really obsolete, WinZip is extremely popular with uneducated computers users.
I, for one... recommend these alternatives: winrar and winace, wich are vastly superiors in performance, but shareware, and 7-Zip wich has good perfomance with a poor interface, but it's free.

Re:Coral
Yeah, you're right.
I was thinking about posting something about binary patches to alleviate the use of bandwidth, when I read this on the kernel web: Apr 9, 2005: Both the new servers are now in full production use. Each is connected to a separate ISC gigabit link. Enjoy!...
But again, it's a 40 megs file... who will win?

Is really PGP the solution?
With news like these, at first we all think of encrypting our mail with PGP/GPG but... how do we know that it will make a difference?
Maybe governments know how to decode it but it's kept in secret in order to create a false sense of security :?

Regrets
The only regrets I have (I'm now married, with child-no fun allowed) are what (who) I didn't do in college. I never tried acid. I never got wasted every night for a month. I never slept with a hooker. Actually the biggest regrets I have are for the chicks I never did. Except for the fat girl I woke up next to, after drinking tequila. She was naked but I had my clothes on so I hope nothing happened but the fear is still there.
As for school, it doesn't really matter what you do. Once peak oil hits, it's all a white line nightmare and, unless you're good with a supercharged V8 and a crossbow, you'll be dog food. -
Re:Why Harry?I feel compelled to answer your post; my initial thought was to mod you as over-rated, since there was no "-1, racist" option (off-topic would have worked also). Besides, in a thread about censorship, the last thing I wanted to do was bury your idea where it could grow like a fungus.
So let me tell you the difference between Christians and Muslems when it comes to sacrilege...Christians boycotted...urged others to boycott...wrote letters to the newspapers. Muslems(sic)...threatened us with bombings and death.
You're saying that because in your job selling books you dealt with some people who expressed anger and resentment in different ways, you can tell everyone that Islam is more violent and evil than Christianity. Yes, that was implied by your post.
I don't expect you to bother learning some history, but perhaps others who read this will pause for a second and realise that violence and rationality varies from one person to another, within the same person at different times and in different situations - and that's dangerous and foolish and ignorant to forget.
It's people with simplistic world-views like yours who thought it was a justifible idea to crash planes into buildings three years ago. Those who moderated you 'interesting' can perhaps be forgiven for pointing out an example of the sort of dogmatic thinking that causes so many global fisticuffs. Those who moderated you 'insightful' are clearly a bit feeble-minded. No dobut I'll be labelled a troll for this - but if you, Brandybuck, at least, consider how easily you jumped from subjective experience through to stereotyping and cultural generalisation and plain out-and-out insult, maybe you'll notice the next time you think to do the same.

More info:
This is my original attempt to post this story, it got rejected, but now that someone else brought it up, I will post my version. Primarily because there are some cool links in it that should be seen:
Yesterday InfoWorld reported a new first for viruses. Believed to be the work of international group 29a, Cabir is the first worm to infect mobile phones! Cabir is a proof of concept worm infecting Symbian mobile phone operating system by Symbian Ltd, used by Nokia. Cabir does not include a malicious payload. -

Tagging MP3s with CDDBI was a bit disappointed with what autotag.pl could do. I've been looking for a program that would, given a directory of MP3s ripped from a CD, calculate the freedb DiscID, and get the names from there.
Today I found mp3cddb, a Perl/shell program to do just that. It's a little old -- it only supports ID3v1 -- but it's GPL, so we can fix that.
Hoping some other folks find this useful
