Re:The source isn't important
Oh fuck off, and try to read. John Podesta owns 75,000 shares in a Putin/Russian company. https://twitter.com/wikileaks/...
Now it is bad to be friendly with Russia who also has 1,000s of nuclear warheads.Because starting cold war 2.0 and living under nuclear threat is a good idea, just because Clinton wants to be the Queen.
And Trump is unstable, yeah fucking sheep.

This is fake news, MSM is hiding the real ones
When people say that MSM is working for Clinton, this kind of "news" is what they mean.
The best thing people have to say in favor of Clinton is that she is not Trump. Well, this release also showed that besides taking Sanders out of the Democrats race, they pushed Trump up on the Republicans race . That is news, not the internal brawls that the emails might cause. When they say Trump is the KGB candidate they are lying, Trump is the DNC's republican candidate.
The release also showed that she considers the enviro groups opposing her effort to expand fracking are Russian front groups. But the media focus on the little BS to steer people away from things that matter.

Twitter is Enforcing Additional Censorship
The emails reportedly document Turkey's use of pro-government trolls on Twitter -- though ironically, it's Twitter that's now being used to document the censorship.
According to a Turkish journalist, Twitter is also helping out with the censorship:
https://twitter.com/MahirZeyna...At the request of Turkey, Twitter decided to block my Turkish account within Turkey.
I'm not the only journalist whose Twitter feed is restricted in Turkey. The process is simple: Turkey asks, Twitter shuts down.
And lists a few more who have been banned.

And you can validate that he's the one with the twitter account, and that he's the one that actually signed in.
Heck, one of the most popular twitter accounts used to be this one, and while it obviously has "fake" in the name, I'm fairly sure there are lots of fake ones out there. For all I know there could be somebody posing as me on twitter or facebook etc right now.
But hey, it's a crazy terrorist so let's just create some horrible laws or legal precedent. It's not like some jackass will abuse it but creating a impersonation twitter/FB account of somebody they don't like, serving them papers, and then getting a default judgement when they don't show.

Re:Hopefully
To me it's not that either one of them carried over losses. The tax code allows it and you are smart to use existing code to your advantage. It's not even a questionable use of the code.
For me, it's the amount. Trump carried forward $916m. Clinton $700k. Lots of people (ok, maybe not LOTS, but it's not unusual) have taken a $700k loss in an investment. How many have taken a personal $916m? There is no comparison between the two.
Aside from lies, bigotry, and fear mongering Trump has campaigned on, he also campaigns on how successful he is and how he's going to make America Great Again by cutting taxes. If he is so successful, how does his business lose nearly a billion dollars during that market? How does that carry forward to 15-18 years worth of taxes if he claims he pays more in a year than we make in a lifetime? How is he being punished by heavy taxes if he doesn't pay any? If half of american doesn't pay taxes and it's crippling us, why isn't he part of the solution instead of the alleged problem?
Trump just shows how hypocritical he is. He says one thing, but evidence points that he does the exact opposite in his own life.

So sad
Eight successful years as Secretary of State.
What is so bloody sad is that you aren't even right about THIS thing, and you probably vote...
Remind me again HOW LONG she was Secretary of State for?
And that is ignoring the "Why were they successful?" point...
Not to bring facts into the argument, but during her stint as SoS, Clinton:
1) Sold 1/3 of our Uranium reserves to Russia
2) Sold dual use (civil/military) tech to Russia
3) Overrode expert opinion and ordered military intervention into Libya that led to the downfall of GaddafiThat #3 is interesting. Clinton was advised that Gaddafi was the only thing keeping militant islamists at bay, and that taking him out would result in them forming a separate state based on terrorism.
We now know that by overriding the advice of experts, Clinton essentially caused the formation of ISIS and the subsequent deaths of hundreds of people, here and abroad.
Here's what the Washington Times reported at the time:
“I had facts that indicated America was headed once again into an intervention that was going to be disastrous,” Mr. Kucinich told The Times. “What was being said at the State Department — if you look at the charge at the time — it wasn’t so much about what happened as it was about what would happen. So there was a distortion of events that were occurring in Libya to justify an intervention which was essentially wrong and illegal.”
People say that Trump is scary and will lead us into war, but they conveniently forget that Hillary Clinton actually *did* lead us into war - under false pretenses!
Oh, and let's not forget all the people who had access to top secret classified information on Hillary's server.

Re:Is Trump violent?
You're changing the subject from candidates to the actions of angry activists.
Nope. The "angry activists" were the subject of your post. If they can organize themselves into a mob sufficiently threatening to warrant cancelling a major campaign event in a major city, alluding to roughing them up may not be particularly outrageous.
Tempers always flare in a run-up to elections. But Conservatives, for better or worse, are always behind Democrats' "rank-and-file" in violence (and you better pray, we stay that way). Heck, absent Conservatives to beat up, Democrats some times attack other Democrats. In this recent incident in Cleveland, for example, KKK, BLM, and Westboro Baptist "Church" — three Democratic Party outfits — have been reported as throwing urine at each other!
I know BLM can get out of hand some times but to hear you talk about them it sounds like they're part of some super conspiracy
They certainly are a conspiracy, though, of course, not the "civilization-ending" kind. 70% of the protesters arrested in Charlotte, for example, were from other states — somebody organized them and paid their travel (and lodging) expenses.
Probably, the same body, that fanned the Ferguson killing of a thug trying to get to policeman's gun beyond all proportion — and popularized the "Hands up don't shoot" lie . Now, has Hillary Clinton been behind it? Maybe not. But she certainly did try to earn the thugs' support by soliciting endorsement of the deceased thug's mother.

Re:No they aren't denying it
I think I have a pretty damn good understanding of science and religion,
I know you think that, but you couldn't possibly be more wrong. Your mistake, with respect to religion, is assuming that you know everything about religion because you think you can assume anything about it as it's all bullshit so anything goes. (In reality, you have only an absurdly superficial understanding of one minor variant of an already superficial Christian sect.) Your mistake on science is, obviously, a lack of a formal science education. You have this odd, superficial view of science that disregards basic concepts like the scope of scientific inquiry. To anyone with even a basic understanding of either, you look like an idiot.
I don't give a shit what the YECs believe,
You post seems to indicate that you care a great deal about what they believe. Why else would you spend so much time posting this sort of absurd nonsense?
: I am out to destroy their way of life, make no mistake about it. I'm a foe of bullshit and misinformation and if the YECs think I'm their enemy then that's one thing they managed to get right.
That is just delusional. You might as well shout "I'm a science warrior". (This is what you look like to just about everyone who isn't also so deluded.)
Besides, if you were truly "a foe of bullshit and misinformation", you'd have taken yourself out ages ago.
Guess what? I don't worship Neil DeGrasse Tyson or what he says.
There's hope for you yet. That man has done more harm to the public understanding of science that every creationist in modern history. You'd do well to avoid him. He's the Ken Ham of pretend science. (They're in the same business, after all: Selling bullshit to an audience eager to hear someone validate their preconceptions.)
He's a smart guy
He thinks there wasn't a year zero because there is no way to represent zero in Roman numerals (Link), among other absurdities. (There are many.) His CV looks great, but he's clearly an idiot.
(probably smarter than me)
That I can believe.

Re:Haha Akamai is Kapakai
Actually, that's not the case, despite a lot of the coverage claiming it is. It's the largest seen by by Akamai, but OVH reported a DDoS peaking at 800Gb/s earlier the same day - although there are no indications of a connection (yet?). What's perhaps more interesting about the DDoS on Krebs isn't the size of it so much that it apparently wasn't a UDP amplification attack, which is the norm for DDoS these days, but TCP/GRE - the botnet used was generating all that traffic on its own Both attacks are far larger than any one group was thought capable of doing (until now) and might be an indication that the number of botnet operators might not be as large as suspected, but instead consists of a smaller number of operators with multiple botnets under their control.

Re:Johnson and anti-incumbent
Sorry to get off-topic. But yesterday I did a quick Yahoo search "What is Lester Holt's political affiliation". I use Yahoo for any politics-related searches. Trump is being bashed for saying Holt (who will moderate the debate) is a democrat. The Yahoo page still had cached Wikipedia text that says "According to voter registration records, he is a Democrat". So, I saved a screen snapshot. But when you follow the link to the Wiki page, that text is now gone. At the bottom of the page, it says Holt is a Republican. But they only cite two articles, created yesterday, that bash Trump's statement, and use that as reference rather than voter registration records. Over the last day, they altered reality to fit the story that Trump is stupid/wrong. And if anyone tries a quick "fact check", they will hit up Wikipedia, which now contains bogus information and a circular reference. No doubt that by now, other places like answers.com have also been "updated".
I checked Wikipedia, and the claim that Holt is a Republican has a source which cites a screenshot showing a Lester D Holt, living in Manhattan, being a registered Republican since 2003.
I also checked the history for the Wikipedia article, and found where he was listed as a Democrat. No source is given.
Now perhaps someone altered the facts to fit a narrative, but if that did happen, it looks far more likely that a Trump supporter did.

Re:Its been denied by McLaren
is not in discussion with Apple in respect of any potential investment.
So they could be in discussion about putting apple software in the McLaren vehicles. That is not against what they said.
The article flatly states:
"The California technology group, which has been working on a self-driving electric vehicle for more than two years, is considering a full takeover of McLaren or a strategic investment, according to three people briefed on the negotiations who said talks started several months ago."
So McLaren's response is 100% against what the article says.
Not only that, but Financial Times is still sticking with their story:
"Obviously we stand by our story despite McLaren's statement"

Re:Bold experiment
Twitter was a bold as an experiment for democratic debate
I disagree. Twitter was originally intended as a "micro-blogging" platform that ran over SMS with a web interface. The 140 character limit is from that, and it's the reason Twitter usernames are limited to 15 characters. (The remaining five characters in a 160-character tweet are for "command" codes. The SMS interface still exists.)
It rapidly grew to something that no longer fits that, but it was never an "experiment for democratic debate," it was if anything an experiment in running a social network over SMS. Public forums and public blogging platforms existed well before Twitter did.
But for posting selfies, spamming, professional self-promotion and reinforcing your own world view, yeah, it's great, and it's true of Facebook, Instagram, everything else.
While true, it's also useful for one other thing: posting notifications. Most of what I use Twitter for are getting notifications about various things. Twitter has essentially become a "push RSS" service where instead of polling an RSS feed, you get push notifications as updates as posted. It's useful in a very specific set of circumstances.
It's that last thing that would make me miss Twitter were it to go away. 99.9% of Twitter? Burn it with fire. But using it as a free notification platform with an SMS-fallback? That's incredibly useful.

Re:Apple "Engineering" Premium?
Why are people still paying the Apple Premium (tm) price? I don't get it - sure other manufacturers have problems too, but others don't charge an extra $200+ for a device that is just shoddy. Whether it's the iPhone or the Mac Book Pro, it seems like more and more that Apple devices are quickly outclassed (if not outclassed from launch) and the next iterations is just a smidge above the previous version. Even worse is that, these days, Apple just seems like they're copying ideas from other phones. Where's the so-called premium?
Supposedly the iPhone 7 has way more power (in a single core) than any Android phone on the market. At least that is what John Gruber claims. I haven't seen the benchmarks myself.

Re:Powell can't bring himself to vote for Hillary
who claims an entire ethnic group is majoritarily composed of rapists and murders
Trump never did that. He said a majority of the illegal immigrants from Mexico were rapists and murderers. Now, that's still bigoted and bad, but he didn't say that Hispanics were rapists and murderers.
Claiming that a majority of a group (illegal Mexicans) are made of rapists and murderers is not (in)morally different from claiming that they all are as a group (since Mexico is not sending their best).
Split hairs as much as you want, that was a clear dog whistle since people who listen to that crap tend not to make any differentiation between an illegal immigrant or a US national of Hispanic background (be it a naturalized citizen like me or someone with roots stretching back 300 years.
Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, what's the difference, they are all the same shit. I know that because I've seen it and hear it in the flesh. Let me show you a little pice of this reality.
