    This ruling could prove to be a setback for other antispam activists for one major reason: It suggests that, thanks to the Can-Spam Act, state laws prohibiting fraudulent or deceptive communications won't be all that useful against junk e-mail.

    Basically, as far as i understand it, states will have a much harder time of protecting their citizens from spam.

    From my anecdotal experience with video games, I can definitely say that my performance is much better when I am leaning forward than when I am reclining -- though this may also have something to do with distance from the monitor, etc.

    I believe this would have something to do with leaning forward being a more 'aggressive' stance.

    In UMG v. Lindor, a case against a home health aide who has never used a computer, the RIAA has now subpoenaed the computer of Ms. Lindor's adult son, who lives four (4) miles away from her. Ms. Lindor's son, a paralegal in a law firm, has hired counsel to make a motion to quash the subpoena

    Looks to me like the RIAA is goin fishin.

    If I have 10 customers who demand a product I have and I only provide 4 of course they'll sell immediately. I don't know if that could be called selling well especially in contrast to another system in a similar circumstance.

    When next gen systems are in abundance and one them trounces the others then I would say it's selling well.

    Since I was referring to ID theft I'd wage that'd be tampering.

    As to my foil hat, I'd have to say the idea of someone taking advantage of this system for their own material gain is truly ludicrous. People don't do that anymore.

    On a more serious note...

    Tampering with mail is a federal offense...assuming the mail's location is sanctioned by the government. I'm assuming you'd have to sign something that would allow them to receive and therefor access your mail.

    My point is, if this isn't a government sanctioned facility, is mail tampering still a federal crime and if not would the risk/reward of ID theft be worth the lower penalty of base theft.

    If they are not counting Wii sports I would say that more people are buying the Wii to play than the PS3.

    Of course people are playing with their Wii. Not only is it great exercise but now in my fantasies my girlfriend is much stronger than usual.

    If I'm correct the original PS3 was set to be built without the BluRay.

    I'm willing to bet that is the root their delays.

    At some point some marketing exec sat down at a global strategy meeting and predicted that to make BluRay work they would need to inject using their most popular gadget.

    Won't it suck for that exec if it turns out BluRay killed the PlayStation...or at least crippled it regardless of majority share of the market.

    I grew up amidst poverty and as a result the TV did most of my parenting. Suffice it to say I turned out just fine.

    The problem is kids today are coddled until they're too weak to fend for themselves. They can't handle ridicule and therefore break down. A few go to extremes.

    Those few, like 99.9% of children, play video games ere go easy scapegoat.

    Am I the only one who got a chill down his spine when he referenced being as knowledgeable about the immune system as he was with computers?

    Now I'm not a Microsoft hater and unlike most my first thought wasn't about possible viruses but about DRM.

    Can you imagine a world where MS has copyrights to a healthy immune system? Now you can add in the jokes about viruses... oh and now there are new opportunities for monopoly joke as well.

    If they wanted to convey power they should have 10 of them in a Beowulf cluster cracking a PGP email.

    Then perhaps techs everywhere would go and buy them en mass 2 or 3 at a time.

    I had something similar to this. I was doing computer repair some years ago when a customer walked in claiming his new scanner would not work. I looked it over and tested it. It seemed to work fine.

    I called the guy back over and asked him to replicate the error for me. He then proceeded to activate the scanner by placing his document up to the monitor and pressing the power button on the scanner.

    I laughed so hard I almost passed out.
