Heh, I made the mistake of trying that when I was a kid, great big willow tree, probably 30 feet tall. I could pretty much get right to the top, of course 1 bad step on the way down and I was in a world of hurt for about 2 weeks, still have the remnants of the scar on my chest where I kinda fell past a ragged branch on the way down. I was real lucky in that fall though, only got the wind knocked out of me, 5 feet in the wrong direction and I would have landed on the big root that was partially sticking above ground by about 6 inches. Soft grass/dirt or hard wooden log, hmm, I'll take the grass thanks;)
I'd like to live just long enough to be there when they cut off your head and stick it on a pike as a warning to the next ten generations that some favors come with too high a price. I want to look up into your lifeless eyes and wave like this. *waves* Can you and your associates arrange that for me, Mr. Morden?
limited or not, the nearest nextflix depo is about 9 miles from me, so most times I send a movie back, I have another on it's way to me within 24 hours. Not to mention that a large portion of my rentals are previous seasons of tv shows I got into a season or 2 after they started, or really old stuff I rememebr from my childhood, ie campy 70's sci-fi tv shows like Space: 1999:)
heh, I use a kroger plus card (as well as albertsons and tom thumb) but those forms you fill out to get them allow you to leave everything blank so you can have the card anonymously.
Yes, it's already tiered, but which tier you are in is directly a result of your choice. What AT&T, SBC, etc want to do is take your money for your choice and then couple that with a second tier that google, microsoft, amazon, etc get to determine. The end result is, just because you pay 50$ a month for the fastest service available means jack when the other end refuses to also pay $50 a month. This isn't allowing for increased competition, this is allowing the ISP's to double-dip and then completely ignore your request that you already paid for.
For example, lets say you order 3 packages from companies A, B,and C. You pay for overnight on each of those packages. Package A and C arrive in the morning because A and C both gave in to fedex and paid for expedited service. B on the otherhand can't afford to pay fedex for the supreme package and instead can only afford the 2 week delivery option. 2 weeks later you get your package from B, even though you gave fedex the money for overnight.
Shouldn't that read "In a desperate attempt to put out the fire in our server that Slashdot has caused" we have removed the re-direct. Please enjoy the article in all its pure texty goodness. Alex Macris The Escapist
You could both play using the same account, but you can't play at the same time on two different computers, logging into the same account from a 2nd computer would log out the 1st computer.
You make a valid couple of points about the style of quests etc, that said, the population of fan forums is very small compared to the number of people in the game. Of that population on the forums, it's actually a fairly small but very vocal minority that is bitching about things. I read guru very regularly, and as of this posting here, have 1337 posts in the forums so I'm familiar with what people are saying. Don't get me wrong, Factions has it's issues, so did Prophecies when it was released. Are there unhappy people? Yes. Are they the majority? Hell no. I'm really enjoying Factions myself and while I think a few things need adjustment, I'll buy chapter 3 when it's released in approx 6 months.
This is really no different than if I sell you a canister of propane with a big warning label on it that says, "If you place this canister into a fire it will explode, killing you". If someone is stupid enough to actually do it, do you really think the company that made the canister is responsible?
- Google Desktop has the functionality to uplaod data to google servers - This Functionality is turned OFF by default - To turn this functionality ON you have to purposely navigate to it, it's not out in the open - Any employee dumb enough to do this in a corporate environment is not an employee you want working in said corporate environment - None of this is GOOGLES fault
Just because you make an item with a certain potential level of functionality that could be misused doesn't mean it's your fault when Joe Dumbass misuses it.
Not certain where you live, but I've lived in Irving TX for 23 months now, work has always been atleast 1 mile away (became 2 miles this past summer) and until 2 weeks ago I was 100% bicycle travel to get to and from work. Heat and humidity suck, but if you take water, wear sunscreen and appropriate clothing, you can do it;)
Uhm, if someone marketed a pentium to you as 64bit back in 95, they were talking out their ass, every ad I saw said 32bit architecture, not 64.
Sony hasn't won a format war in the last 22 years (since the release of betamax), who really thinks they'll win now?
I owuld mod him up even more funny, but seeing as I've posted in this thread...

It's goatsex, predator isn't the right word, deviant is much more fitting.
My favorite is still the Vir quote;

If you were living in Canada at the time and you did the copying, not your friend, then you're perfectly fine, nothing against the law there.

[FROM TFA]...he had one more great ambition: "I would also like to understand women."
Him and every other man on the planet

Naw, he's your ex, meaning he doesn't have a girlfriend, meaning the rumors are still just rumors ;)
You're right, Jack Thompson does have a point, three of them, demon horns on his skull and a nice pointy tail.
heh, and I've put around 1100 hours into Guild Wars at $50 for the original, that's what, $0.0454545454545 / hr. Sounds like an even better deal ;)
I just love how he typo'd Cylon in his note that the spellings of Adama/Psylon had now been fixed. LOL!!!
You're kidding right? This is Sony we're talking about.
