UBI is basically Marxism, where those with the ability to produce will have to subsidise all those without ability to produce (from each according to their ability, to each according to their need). As all such schemes it will lead to the productive portion of the population to shrink dramatically, while some government connected monopolies will stick around but the government will be printing money like crazy to provide the UBI checks given the ever declining pool of productive people and companies. This will in turn destroy the value of money so that the UBI will buy precisely nothing no matter how much it is set at. Of-course there also will be a serious increase in criminal activity with the criminals realising that the only way to get more money in such an economy is to kidnapp people, chain them and hold them somewhere, feeding them bread and water while collecting their UBI benefits.
The entire system will collapse under its own weight and will destroy the underlying society due to this collectivist policy. The only correct way to increase employment is by building new businesses and the only way to start new businesses is to remove the weight of government from the shoulders of the individuals. Income, payroll, property and sales taxes will have to go, the government will have to live on something so tiny in comparison to what it is used to today that it will basically be a non-entity. That's the only way to allow people to restructure the economy, to find new ways to generate new business activity that simply wasn't there before, much of it due to the government intervention, regulations, taxation and inflation (money printing). Basically government oppression is so high that the economy is dying and automation is only a symptom of such an economy. In a healthy economy the total pool of wealth is constantly growing and companies do not have to maximise efficiencies to the point of bleeding, they can expand by creating new products and rely on the market to supply new consumers. Instead what we are having here is a shrinking pie of everything because the government chocked the life out of the system.

If all people require State provided welfare to exist they present no economic value, no one, zero. They are not needed, so a society based on consumption rather than production is not sustainable and is also repulsive.
People who own no assets and pay no taxes shouldnt ne participating in politics, they have everything to gain from theft via the force of government and nothing to lose, they are also the ones who acrually contribute nothing to anything.
