I made myself called by one of them (just to make them waste money on Int'l calls). The funny of this was a background noise, that sounded like another operator making the same scam. So I think they even have a call center for 419 scam:)
I think the way to go would be to put at the end of the GPL: For Algeria: Remove point 3 and add XXXX on point 5. For Argentina: xxxxx For Austria: xxxxx you get the point.
Linspire also cames WITHOUT GCC. But could be downloaded using Click-and-Run. (there is also a "Developer" edition of Linspire with GCC, but I guess this developer is not what will came with new DELLS).
The real answer of why nobody complains that Linux distros bundle too much software is that the included software usually is not from the same gus who made the distro. If you have multiple word processing programs, but anyone was made by Red Hat, Mandrake, debian, and so on. Another reason is that i windows is easy install most programs, in linux not, so you better have them all on the install CD:)
Most Internet cafes in Buenos Aires cost 0.5 USD / hr (some less than that). In cities in the inner part of the country, this could cost up to 1.2 USD / hr. Far way from 3 USD / hr. as the page states. The only place in Argentina you could pay as much is in the Airport, because they have "international rates", but 99% of the inet cafes (cybercafes as we call them) the rate is less than 1 USD/hr.
I saw this on an Internet cafe. They are almost public machines since are used by anyone, so they are full of that kind of software. So, to see "whats hot" on spyware arena, go to your local internet cafe:)
I don't know if this is Orwellian or not. But this is standar procedure in Argentina. If you are not carrying goverment issued photo ID on the street you could be taken to the near police station for up to 24 hours to "identify" you. Pretty wired, but people is used to:(
At the begining it was shocking to see there were no folders on Gmail. But you could easily emulate them using the labels. You just "label" a message instead of puting in a folder (or put a filter that labels the message and the "archive" it). If you want to see only the content of one folder, just select to view the ones labeled. If you don't want to see the content of a folder, just put "archive" on the filter and it will be the same as having a folder. The good thing is you could put more than one label per message.
When I try to install it in Red Hat 8.0 (as a root), I get a XPISTUB error (618), I've tried to cp libxpistub.so to/usr/lib and even to / to no avail.:(
Little off-topic, but I wanted to tell everybody that DNALinux is looking for a graphic logo. In return, we offer a Gmail account to the best logo. Here is more info.
Ebay ir more a garage sale than a traditional store. On garace sales, all sells are final, as is. Don't like, don't buy. It is riskier than any store, but you could get prices impossible to find anywhere else.
Yes, some people thinks the software is part of the machine, if they think about it at all. Some people "just use" the computer, don't even care how to program got there, that is what their geek friend care for (or the computer guy or the people he bought the computer for).
Hembra is used for animals (is the oposite of Macho, that is used for animals or for "strong, brave, men"

You could use the Lindows developer edition. I think it is free if you download it using Bittorrent.
Lindows has Click'n Run that let users install Linux programs without recompile, without dependency issues and all under a nice GUI.
Lindows (or Linspire) has one commercial DVD player. It was released more than a year ago. It cost 4.95 for CNR members.
Linspire also cames WITHOUT GCC. But could be downloaded using Click-and-Run. (there is also a "Developer" edition of Linspire with GCC, but I guess this developer is not what will came with new DELLS).
If a virus is OSS, MS was right when said that OSS is a virus :)
Slackware did a similar jump also.
dBase also started at 2.0 (somebody said it was Oracle).

I didn't do anything on the labels, didn't put a link there. Maybe you have some spyware that put links on 3rd party web pages :)

AFAIK, Lindows (or Linspire) has a licence, or at least, they sell you a DVD player. :)
