Your ideas about reliability and validity are right, but this is the computer marketing world we are talking about not a scientific lab. They just wanted to make sure that they weren't getting completely skewed results on one run and then published them since they got the results they wanted.

The father of giant robot anime is probably Tetsujin 28-go (Gigantor was the english version) from early 60s, though Astroboy from early 50s could also be considered the father of all robot anime, he wasn't a giant robot though.
Look, I like Ireland, I think it is a great place. I work with several Irish people, they are excellent people. I was just commenting, as an American how it was a bit scary to see heavily armed troops in a TINY town delivering money to the bank. I say this to let you know that it is a very foreign concept for Americans to see heavily armed troops in the streets.

It is insane in a science/engineering environment. Who would want to share a CPU with some guy trying to model the space shuttle in MATLAB?
You should try a dual Xeon setup. Hyperthreading will give you 4 logical processors to use. I would be curious to see how well HT aids this application.
Yes, it is just plain RCA connectors. Use 75 ohm connectors and cable for best results. Most popular DIY cable seems to be Belden 7710A or 1694A and Canare L-5CFB. The Canare 75 ohm RCA Crimp plug seems to be very popular for the connector.

If you can make BNC cables yourself you can certainly make RCA cables.
