IBM owned the FAB that produced Cyrix chips, the same way they own the FABs that make PowerPC CPUs. AMD has two of best FABs in the world at Dresden and Houston. It would give as much capacity as Intel who owns FABs in third world countries.
They were the first true 2-chip(CPU+Northbridge and a Southbridge) Computers for failed Information Appliance market (IE Audrey,Virgin Webplayer, ETc). Very small, cheap, and power effecient. I have a Webplayer that I modded to run RH as a Mp3 player and Digital picture frame with WiFi and it only uses 25 watts including monitor!!
1. The yuan has been fixed at a rate of 8.2770 to the dollar since 1995
2. Largest standing military in the world.
3. Next country to go to the moon.
4. Screw Wintel, They have V-Dragon Midori Linux on a better platform.
That can be difficult considering the Latency of IP address to Mars. It can range from 5 to 20 light-minutes depending on the time of the year. Unless the Sun is in the way then you just get a 504 Error.;^)
Old Bill is probably not happy either. This game was supposed to come out on the X-Box first. It might have been enough for me to buy one for the kids this Xmas.
We must start a charity with the UN to help Feed the poor starving MPAA. The United Nations Movie Organization For Underpaid Corporate Kiddies (UNMOFUCK) will help supply free Porsche and BMW to these unfortunate victims of LINUX. Please save the starving super models.
The US Air Force is in the process of issueing everone of it's military members a 32K smart card as a ID card. We are using them to digitaly sign E-mail and access computer systems. So now everone has a smartcard reader on there desktop. WOW!! we must all be pirate thieves.
PS. I have been a paying for DishTV since I moved to the backwoods.
Another re-hash of the HP Jornada 720. Which I am posting this with from my couch via CF Wi-Fi card. Now maybe if they added a 20 Gig HD like the one in a IPOD that would rock.
My favorite Quake 3 model to hunt down and slaughter is Jar-Jar. A good Machinima movie to make would be to send the Boba-Fett Q3A model after the Jar-Jar model and Jib his ass with a rocket. Can you tell I hate Jar-Jar, he's the one who started the Clone War!!
Not everyone is a Ubergeek and wants to upgrade their computer every 6 months. Consoles are still cheaper than comperable gaming PC's, but that seems to be closing just like the desktop-laptop price gap is.
I work with about 80+ programmers (age range 18-60) and I would say it's about evenly split between console and PC gamers. I personally have 3 gaming PCs and almost every console going back to the Atari 2600, but thats just me.;^)
Alot more people are buying laptops because they already have fast enough machine on their desktop, now they want mobility and maybe a few extra features to boot. I recently bought a Dell laptop that can burn CD, play DVDs, and let me play UT2003 & Q3A anywhere I want. I had priced the cost of the largest protable DVD stand alone and the smart choice was the laptop that could do more. I just returned from vacation where I used it to entertain the kids on the road with games and DVD (far cheaper than a dedicated in-car system). Navigated with a USB GPS reciever. I also used to backup the 3+ gigs of pictures from my 6-Mpixel camera (could have used a dedicated HD storage but CD-R are more reliable). Once again general purpose PCs are more cost effective than a lot of seperate gadgets (IMHO).
I was stationed in englend a few years ago and thought it was strange that for 5 quid you could go and have a plate made with anything on it you wanted.
In the US Stamped ALUMINUM (say it the right way) plates given buy the DMV/MOV are a little harder to fake.
The current system seems to work fine: You pay per gallon.
If your heavy vehicle uses more gas then it does more damage to the road. Lighter vehicles do less damage.
A tax increase on gasoline might change buying habits of consumers. Most europeans drive smaller cars because gas cost $3-4 a gallon. Some would say that would make goods moved buy SEMI truck more exspensive. But then Diesel sold to cargo moving vehicles could be taxed at lower rate.
Do you think diesel used in trains and farm tractors cost the same as at the gas station?
Except that M$ doesn't want any one to use there precious X-crap for anything other than what Bill says. Sony opened up it's platform for Linux almost from the start.
Check out this fun use for a PS2 - Qcast . All without Uncle Bills promission or a Mod chip.
So why do most Celerons and Pentium 4s say MALAYSIA,Costa Rica, Phillipines on them? Maybe thats just where they are packaged?
:^)
I wonder if the next version of Winblows will say MADE IN INDIA on a little oval sticker on the bottom?
I just remembered I still have some crappy webplayer pics on my site. Enjoy

There are still alot of rural areas out west that do not have any service. I doubt some of the areas in the commercials really had service.
Thats what the RFID tags are for.
And if you run out the door thats what the Lasers are for.
5) If SCO decides to send extortionate letter to you, you:

How about showing the starving programmers that lost their jobs to India

ALL YOUR UNIX ARE BELONG TO SCO
In Soviet Russia Unix patents SCO
(Sorry I was really bored)
Hopefully nintendo will not try to stop something that would sell more of there products. A program like Qcast would be a cool second use for one.

Lots of laws are viewed this way.
Do you ever speed? BAM! you just broke the law.
Ever do your girl-friend in the poop-shoot? BAM! you just broke the law.
Did you ever drink alcohol before age 21? BAM! you just broke the law.
