I too use AVG and have for a long time, mostly cause Norton / McAffe sucks. I would like to know if there are any other good free AV programs out there nowadays.
I know that the good people of/. will help guide me to a good solution with a minimum of ranting and flaming.
You can download the trial client from their website and use it as a full client. It just takes a loooooong time to get it. If they can 'fix' that, then they might be able to forego the retail market and use digital downloads.
Wait a minute. Games are trying to imitate reality. In reality, subway stations have ads in them. So, shouldn't games have ads in them* to "feel right"?
* = WHERE APPROPRIATE. Games like WoW do not need billboards in them.
But I agree on the paying aspect. If you pay, you don't see ads(unless you want to).
And, make the game cost less due to the ad revenue.

I really doubt it. I joined EQ after SoL launched and played for a few years. I even was a senior guide for a time. Then, I got bored.
Interestingly, I only had to quit EQ once. I've quit WoW twice now....

Ok, Ok. What I meant was, you aren't paying for HL2 and ep1, they are included for free [to get people up to speed, sayth VALVe].
