... killing and torturing people to death isn't questionable in the US, and so hasn't been removed?
Yes, that's a bit interesting...
I often watch movies when I'm on the move. 3h train ride will go much faster with a 2h movie. As long as I watch movies where people kill each other, burn up or so, noone seems to care. But if there's a 30 second love scene, I have to hide the screen to avoid nasty glances from other passengers. Why is that ?
Btw.. didn't McDonalds get sued for "Hot Coffee" already ?:-)
[women] are underpaid relative to men doing the same job with the same experience And still people hire men.. how stupid are HR people ? They can hire women doing the same work, with the same experience, and they still hire a man ?
I have been looking around for info to build such a thing. I'd like to have 1TB of raid-protected storage for a digital video recorder. Performance is not an issue, but I would like it to be quiet, lowpower, and not too bi
Apple is obviously not interested in competing with all this crap'n'cheap PC storese and hardware floating around. Why can't people figure that out ?
Furthermore, I've actually spent less money on computer hardware since I bought my Power Mac, simply because I was suddenly so happy with it, and felt no need to constantly change stuff.
I threw my last Windows/PC years ago, running Linux/OpenBSD on my servers, and OS X on laptops/workstation. I dont miss this fuzz about crappy drivers, PSUs that goes black, noice, having to install a shitload of free/shareware just to be able to do something.
Simply put, I value my time, so I save money (and adrenaline) on my Mac's. If you dont mind all the crap that goes with cheap PC hardware, Apple is simply not for you, so dont "whine" about not being able to buy a cheap Mac.
Then if you wish you can rebuild all your packages over a weekend while you are out fishing.
Hey, it is spelled "phishing":-)
Fishing is something completely different, and you have to be outdoors (doh) do do it, atleast that's what i've heard. You can still "shark" a "whale" though...
Well, we have a new guy in the office. He has 3 MS certificates, MCSE, MCP and one other. The very first day, I had to walk him through how to set up his email account...
These Microsoft certificates obviously dont mean jack shit about practical experience. What they do mean is that he has the capability to read material, and puke it up on an examination. That's what they are worth.
In my oppinion, you have to have both hands-on experience, and a wide theoretical background. Theory for the understanding of the broader view, and experience to get things done and quickly identify and correct problems/solutions.
For us, these certificates dont mean that he is an expert in any way, but I most certainly dont think he is a computer illiterate. He just needs a few months to get his hands dirty.
I think what they are referring to is that, when they were only two, they _needed_ to get out, meet people, get some fresh air. Two people, alone, stuck in the same room, day after day, would annoy each other to pieces (unless they fall in love:-P
WHY do teachers NEED to carry cell phones? And even if that was the case, they could be wearing simple wireless phones connected to the landbased phone system, the signal should stay within the building...
I had other things in mind though. All those people who are afraid of the new 3G frequencies and the problems that can cause, can we simply not paint their houses?
Or this discussion we had a while back about amish people not allowing cell phones. What a great opportunity for them.
So, the last question is.. what happens if i put this paint one a cell base station. Can i simply drive by and spray a station, and render it inoperable?
What if we're too stupid to recognize a type of life that does?
After seeing too much star trek, I kind of admit there might be some very strange life form there. Altough, that is VERY unlikely, simply because there is no:
Atmosphere
Oxygien
Water
Jean Luc Picard
Show me one or two of those, and i'd be willing to talk:-)
Hell, with a bit of effort I could probably get sendmail to do what this does.
You dont need to spend a bit of effort, this would take 10 minutes to code in bash or perl, if you have a working sendmail daemon. Just flooding someone with emails is an utterly simple task, and sendmail, postfix or qmail does it equally well.
I agree that, by making an application doubleclickable, with a gui, even a stupid retard can send mail to someone, but with just the slightest piece of interest in any modern *NIX distribution, you can be much more efficient.
He does not sell software that simply send emails to lots of people, he has coded the GUI, mailing list functions bla bla etc.
Just out of curiousity, what are you going to use those PCI slots for ?
There is already NIC, Firewire, USB, Sound and Video cards onboard. I've had several macs, and i've never installed a single addon card in any of them.
The only thing i've ever come up with was to use one as a firewall, in that case a second NIC would be desirable, but otherwise?
Apparently, as long as the technology doesn't get in the way of their religious life, it's ok.
Does this mean Luke Skkywalker is Amish? IIRC, he was using a portable generator to charge R2D2 when visiting Yoda, but I have'nt seen him plugging the android into a wall.
Hm.. more serious.. How can it be that carrying a portable generator is NOT abusive to their religion, but plugging in the same equipment into the wall is? You can kick your toes into portable equipment, you can trip over it etc.
As far as phone lines go, I'd think cell phones are way more intrusive, radiowaves ruining morning prayers and flying through the walls, while a "wired" phone/land line phone can simply be unplugged ?
I think i'll use the Chewbacca defence on this one.. it _does not make sense!_:-)

Linux isnt' shit, linux is "the shit" :-)
They are designed for a single CPU, single monitor, single keyboard...
:P
I have a Dual CPU machine (G5), and it works just as great. Not sure what happens if you have Two Dualcore CPUs though, that could be a real mess...
I have been looking around for info to build such a thing. I'd like to have 1TB of raid-protected storage for a digital video recorder. Performance is not an issue, but I would like it to be quiet, lowpower, and not too bi
Perhaps this is what you are looking for ?
I'm a lot more impressed by the fact that he is making his thesis ouf of this:
The driving goal of this project was to end fighting over the remote control, the gamepad, or the keyboard.
I really cant see how this solves the problem. Everyone must still have their own gamepad / remote control, right ?
I seem to be immune to these worms, I cannot doubleclick on the "msi" file.
./SRL_Worm_Simulator.msi ./SRL_Worm_Simulator.msi: cannot execute binary file
boaworm$ ls -l *.msi
-rw-r--r-- 1 boaworm boaworm 2022400 28 Apr 17:16 SRL_Worm_Simulator.msi
mirage:~/Desktop boaworm$ chmod a+x SRL_Worm_Simulator.msi
mirage:~/Desktop boaworm$
-bash:
mirage:~/Desktop boaworm$
Poor me, my Panther cant even get that worm to RUN... i't should be dead scared, should it not ? Perhaps I need Tiger..

You should be able to trade your time for their time.
:-)
You mean like, an hour for an hour ? (Atleast as long as she is female
I already converted all my friends (including my Boss) into Mac users, so I have no problems any longer :-)
Trully innovative that company is. I mean this new "vision" they have is, like, so 70's.
Do not underestimate the power of the Dark Side...

Is it just me, or does this fish look much like "Alien" (from Alien 1,2,3,N / AVP) ?

:)
Hm, more seriously.. They must really have tried to make something special. Otherwise WebDAV+SSL would have proven to be a bit cheaper..
No no.. the lazers will be attached to their friggin headz ! :)

Dude .. this guy lives in Afghanistan.
:-)
RTFA
If you think the Police in Afghanistan has nothing better than chaing online fraud scammers, selling software for $1.2, you are gravely misstaken.
Diesel is the next big thing but we've got to reduce emmissive levels on those before they become widely accepted.
You really think a fossile fuel will be the "next big thing". And what's new about Diesel anyway, it's been around for generations...
