It seems to me that this would be the perfect use of tags - let the papers keep their current style of headline, but tag the stories for parsing by google news et al.
The divide seems to be both generational and regional. Younger generations (high school) tend to be using the new messengers, whereas older types seem to be more likely to still use icq, or have recently switched.
Btw, the current regional divide in north america seems to be MSN for canada, AIM for america.
Yes I'm sure it's impossible because nothing like it has ever been accomplished before.
I also have great confidence in the fact that you know precisely what you're talking about when you summarise the entire project as a "reflector."
I don't understand people who will read one little blurb and then come up with such strong convictions. Please do everyone a favour and keep the signal to noise ratio just that tiny little bit larger.
Just on the principle of it, I don't believe that games or anything else for that matter should be regulated at all by the government. The government has no place in peoples' bedrooms, they have no place in peoples' living rooms, nor do they have a place in peoples' houses. Why do some people find it neccesary to look to a higher form of authority outside their own judgement to place regulations on themselves? I've never seen why some people are in favour of a governing body regulating what they can or cannot do. Christ people, think for yourselves and enjoy doing so. Don't mindlessly look to some big brother to think and make decisions for you!
If children are free to purchase such games, so be it. If the parents don't want their children to play them, they will stop them. Confiscate them, whatever. Any parent knows what's going on in their living room. If their 14-year-old is hiring a prostitute and then killing her for her money in a gem like GTA3, odds are the parent will hear this and catch wind of it. If the parent is rational and realises it's just a game, then so be it. If the parent makes the decision that this is not acceptable for their child, then that's ok too - I guess. Who am I to judge?
People: be your own regulator. Those who are in favour of a government deciding what you can or cannot do are sheep.
Congrats, you just killed this joke for the whole world.
I mean... it was funny occasionally when it was well-formed and made sense. After a while, any joke that's long-run will eventually die at the hands of a lesser joke-teller. Noone can ever associate themselves with that joke again, because they remember the time that the joke-killer commited his foul act.
Example 1: "In Soviet Russia, the MAIL opens YOU." is funny. Because normally, you open the mail, which is a normal, ok, everyday act. This makes the reversal - 'mail' opening 'you' - absurd and clever.
Example 2: "In Soviet Russia, YOU spy on MUSIC INDUSTRY!" is not funny. Because normally yes, I guess the music industry can spy on you, but this is sort of out of the ordinary. It doesn't really happen that much, if at all. This makes the reversal - 'you' spying on the 'music industry' - drab, anticlimactic and downright unfunny.
You know, if you really wanted to, you could just spend the next 2-3 hours and learn html. When there are 8-year-old kids who can pick it up at summer camp over the course of 3 days, you should be able to handle it.
I'm just guessing, but that's probably the first time we've slashdotted a site pertaining to 'live bait.' That link was absolutely and totally random...
Why is it that michael appears to be the only editor who cares at all about Canadian issues? Whenever it's a Canadian story, it's michael posting it. I know without looking. And I congratulate him for standing up and letting Canada be counted, but why can't CmdrTaco or Nate ever get their act together and post something when something important arises? I'd just maybe like to see that an american gives a shit, that's all.
You missed some closing parentheses!

Hi you're not funny.
Ice burn!
Sorry, exactly whom do you speak for? Are you sure?
"Central to this agreement is the DRM protection scheme developed by Microsoft to protect HDTV cable programming under the OpenCable process."
And.... go.

I wish there was a "Not Funny" moderation label.

Technically, dominos are supposed to be used in the game of *gasp* Dominos.
A 'hack' is an implementation of (physical)objects in a new/different and impressive way.
Therefore, the fact that these dominos were used in a way like this and on an impressive scale like this deems this feet to be a hack.

Team Fortress 2 should be out really soon after Duke Nukem: Forever.
