Quake III Arena with horrible resolution with a game pade?
Nope. I play on my HDTV w- a mouse and keyboard. Sticks in the USB ports front of my PS2. Right next to the firewire port. Which is located next to my 40 gig hard drive running linux. I play online. I play offline. None of my games need any patches (!). And your gaming pc is $2000 before you buy the monitor, my gaming console was $400, which includes linux kit.
I play on my pc too, but the gaming companies can smell where the market is heading. Thus, we enter the age of the console.
True, but Sony did provide me a sexy little ethernet port , 40 gig hard drive, and (fairly) full featured linux box to play with. I don't miss the DVD/CDrom drive at all, I just pull data from the rest of my network.
I know that Sony isn't exactly the kinder, gentler alternitive to MS, but my little PS2 plays the games I want to play, runs linux, surfs the web(not well, at least not yet), plays dvd's and just looks cool. They get my money. Besides, I've given too much of my cash to MS already. Time to spread it around to the other monopolistec uber corporations.
I thougt TPM was a direct reference to Palpatine. The fact that the whole audience is screaming (at least I was) DON'T LISTEN TO HIM! HE IS LYING! HE GETS REALLY OLD AND WRINKLED AND EVIL AND (indirectly) GET DARTH VADER (sure, he was evil, but he was cool evil baby!)KILLED. He was the Phantom Menace, the cloak of evil that no one can see.. yet.
Lucas: $1,782,786,982...$1,782,786,983... that's it? Damn! Still not enough money. How can I possibly take over the world with this paltry sum.
Speilberg: Poight!
Lucas: How can I raise the rest? My new movie wont be released for another year.
Speilberg: Say Brain, why don't you re-release Episode II and replace all the guns with cell-phones! Poight!
Lucas: What do you take me for, an idiot? Only a moron would do that.....Hmmm... re-release... into an even Bigger Hollywood Production. Say Pinky, are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Speilburg: Sure Brain, but where are we going to find velcro and vasleine at this time of the night?
Lucas:......
Lucas: Your ignorance is only exceeded by your idiocy. You fool, now is the time for Episode II part II The Really Really Big Edition!
I recently switchd AND am a "hardcore" gamer. Granted, I have a Game Boy Advance and PS2 to fullfil all that the apple cannot, but I've got all 3 quakes, MOH, RTCW, Unreal Tournament, Deus Ex, Undying, etc. Most all of the killer apps make it to Mac. Unfortunatly, we (macusers) have to wait a little longer.
Know what doesn't make it to mac?
Crap
It's like the wait is a good long crap filter that keep all bad games from making it to my beautifull Powerbook.
I actually lived there for 3 years. Near Hachinoha (I'm 100% certain I spelled that wrong). Not for anything, but Japanese porn sucks. All the parts are blurred out. I'm sure that you could get more unblurred porn from underground sources, but none of them have the programing savy to make me a cyber porn friend. At least there wasn't any while I was there.
'Course, if your in Japan looking for an electronic girlfreind instead of a REAL one you should probably shoot yourself in the head.
A valid point. At the end of the day, I could see 1984 happening if the Gov't controlled all the tech., as it does in some third world countries.
Here in the west, tech. is controlled by we, the people. There are few technological endeveres that cannot be purchased for consumption by average Joe. If Joe goes to school and learns about tech he gains the ability to keep prying eyes from his tech, and himself. Or, if he chooses, use that knowledge to take away tech from The Man via hacks, etc.
Untill the tech is taken from the people the people will find a way to control it for their own uses.
I guesse that Orwel didn't predict the geek.
Although, I think he did (the underground group at the end of 1984, for example). Maybe he was just wrong about the POWER of the geek.
I agree. Had they done a full, complete, and 100% direct translation of the book the film would probably run 4+ hours. I can do that on a couch, in my living room, but never in a theatre. Besides, I think it's good that people who were just introduced to Tolkien get a few surprises when they read the series.
is one of the first legitimate signs that DVD is here to stay. Obviously circut city beleives that they are now outdated. I just wish that more obscure and/or old films and shows would come out on dvd. I need the good ole' VCR to watch my stupidly huge collection of "V" episodes...
Would rather have the PS2, run linux, pleay PS1 games, PS2 games, ad DVD's. $200 for the box, $200 for the Linux Kit, and a freaking huge game library. Not a bad deal.
I must say OSX is a wonderful OS when you compare it to windows, but it doesn't come close to a BSD or GNU/Linux running a suite of development applications under X
Thus the phrase:
Linux for development Mac for production Palm for mobility Windows for Solitaire
I prchased a SuPeR SeXy TiBook 2 months ago( should've waited, damndamndamn) and both my geek and non-geek freinds keep drooling all over my shiny titanium case. I wanted a MS alternitive that tallowed me to
Then go buy a ps2. Already done. You can even use the usb keyboard and mouse you already have. I do.
Except SOCOM. Or Halo. OR Twisted metal Black, which (by the way) came free with the PS2 network adaptor. With more to come.

That's a bumper sticker waiting to happen.
My personal favorite thought regarding 9/11 comes from John McCain.
"We're coming to get you. God my forgive you....we WILL NOT."

Now my machine isn't fast enough to run Quake. Need to shoot myself.
Or are you talking about the MPAA?
Coolest Mouse Ever

Crap
It's like the wait is a good long crap filter that keep all bad games from making it to my beautifull Powerbook.
Do I have all the same games I had on my PC?
NO. Just the best ones.
Except of course for Half Life. Bastards.

Cold rock
Runs at 000mgz
No RAM,
No HD
Cannot run anything
IT does, however, fly through the air (when thrown) and crack open skulls
I'd like to seee you try THAT with a Sony laptop...
Can't Batman buy a WHOLE LOT OF KRYPTONITE and just sew it into his uniform? He's got the $$.
This may be a dumb idea, but why not visit New York? Spend some money. Visit the mac store. Get a cool statue. Circumvent tariffs.
Look at the little green baby.
Ah tell you what. You can KEEP yer spaceship, you can keep yer photos, but ahh want the little green alien baby.
Ahh want mah green baby green baby green baby green baby
GET IN MAH BELLY!
Ahm higher on the food chain than you.. GET IN MAH BELLY...
Sorry. Hindsight tells me that the previous post is very silly. Please ignore.

isn't it just a port of the playststion 2 version?

Or what gravity defying substace keeps Lady Deaths's size FFF breasts so firm?

too late
Point being...I am a geek and I really ig my TiBook Mactop.
