Stuart Cheshire (Creator of Bolo and the Apple's Rendezvous protocol) wrote a cool hack for MacHack 2000 that shows all JPEGs and GIFs sent over a 802.11b wireless network.
The thing that really scares me about the EUCD is the total lack of media coverage that this las has recevided here in Sweden. I don't know about the rest of Europe but here I've never seen it mentioned in any newspaper or on television. All information I have found about it has come from reading Slashdot and other independant online sources.
I sure as hell ain't gonna pay to watch their commercials.
Something is definitely wrong if that's their business model..
A better idea would be to use the site as a testing ground for new commercials. Let the users watch and rate the clips in the same way as test screenings are used for movies. A service like that could be very valuable for the advertising industry.

I found it on Colette's online store here At 185.15 it can hardly be considered cheap but the first production is limited to 50, so it could become a quite unique item.
Guess the transition period needs to be lengthened now.
The transition was completed at MacWorld in January when all Macs started shipping with Mac OS X as default. What else is needed to complete the transition?
I've been to Europe a couple of times in a number of countries. There is no question that Europe is a great place to visit, but there's no way I would ever live there. They have absolutely no concept of freedom.
Funny. I live in Europe and that's the exact same feeling I have about the US.
And what's up with the "I hate flying" schtick? Was that Ewan MacGregor or Woody Allen?
I thought it came right from Raiders of the Lost Ark, where Indy describes how he hate snakes in the beginning of the film and is forced to deal with them later. Exact same thing here, if the trailer is to be believed.
If more "real" people gave a bit of money -- keep in mind that the per-candidate and total limits restrict how much any one company can contribute
I wonder how mush each Slashdot reader would have to contribute to get CowboyNeal elected. I mean, we always vote for CowboyNeal anyway, why not as senator?
They used to be what, 8% of the market, but the market grew and they didn't.
Well I'm a mac user and the one thing I always hear from Wintel users is how small Apple's market share is. Like I'd care..
When it comes to Apple there are only two things that I feel completely certain about. The first thing is that Apple will never die, they will always have their loyal group of supporters to keep them afloat. The second thing is that Apple will never dominate the personal computer industry.
The thing that my Wintel using friends don't understand is that I as a mac user am perfectly happy with this. In fact I want Apple's situation to be like it is right now! Apple are after all a creator of a proprietary operating system and perhaps the most important thing thing that stops them from treating their customers as bad as Microsoft does is that they really need to satisfy the customers they have. If Apple had the same monoploy that Microsoft enjoys today, they would probably we just as bad, and I would not be a mac user.
Why doesn't the Linux/OSS community come up with an embedded, tiny-ass Linux hard drive like the iPod, with some simple GUI-and-pen based features...
That's because the OSS community doesn't have millions of dollars from hardware sales to spend on R&D of such cool products. Apple wouldn't be able to do it without the steady income from their hardware line.
There are probably ways to fool this system similar to changing the User-agent string in a web browser. But that is definitely not the right way to solve this problem.
Yeah slashdot labels this as funny when it's done by some college students, but I'm sure you won't think it's all that funny once Microsoft start bundling the same functionality into the next version of windows.. (Windows TP?)
Well, I'm sure I've heard somewhere that size matters. Can't remember where at the moment, try Google.

OK, so why is this in the iPod Category?
You will easily be able to spot the ads because the ads don't have spelling mistakes in them.

I wish i could mod this -1 Depressing.
Why do I need this? Does this offer anything that the version of perl included with Mac OS X doesn't?

By what authority can a US court decide what laws should apply to the Internet?

Hopefully Steven won't be around for the occasion.

Why stop there. You could write a PHP script that calls an AppleScript that colour-corrects your CMYK pr0n using Photoshop!
For a look on how alpha blending should be used in a window manager check out OS X instead.
Are you sure you wouldn't rather have Mandrake Gaming edition
I used Project Builder and the OS X version of the SDL Devkit.
It seems to run ok! I changed it to run in fullscreen mode and it works without problems. (SDL is great!)

There's a thin line between +1 Funny and -1 Flamebait. It also seems to depend on who says it..
User should not have to put uf with this.
