Stop with the "$75k isn't enough to live on in NYC, LA, etc." We all know people in those cities aren't happy anyway, so I'm sure they were left out of the data set.
I used this WorldsChat thing back in 1999 when I got on the interwebs for the first time. It looked exactly as it does in the patent filing, penguins and all. Oh those were the days. Also, Meridian 59 was a 3D MMORPG that existed at that same time if not before.
Yes, prior art certainly exists and I'm glad it's going to be so easy to find but I did have a tinge of nostalgia creep up when I saw those drawings.
Important caveat from the wikipedia article: "However, CBP may only conduct searches of the traveler's body...if the Customs agent has reasonable suspicion to believe the traveler is concealing contraband" (emphasis added)
As long as you can fit your laptop into one of several orifices without looking suspicious, you're golden. Time to get "familiar" with your new ultra-moble PC.
Do they also have a part in the scenario where the kids have to sign their souls away to the recording industry to get publicity for their album? Do they get the option to send it out on a P2P network to generate a fan-base through the quality of their work? Perhaps this little exercise needs to be a little more in depth than the simple trick question they currently have posed.
This is just Apple covering their butts regarding export laws. I doubt that they would enforce this in any way unless they were under some legal pressure and wanted to pass the blame on to individuals who did the actual exporting.
What you all seem to be missing is the fact that this game was being developed as some what of tribute to a game we all love and to see if such a game could be developed under the open source model. Much like FreeCiv, this is a similarly named project simply because it is intended to immitate the orginial. Now, whether or not this violates trademark is not for me to say but I will say that this is a great way to alienate some gamers out there. Way to go Vivendi Universal, you sure do know how to call your customers theives.
Well despite what someone else said, though comcast is looking at your traffic, it will simply show up as you repeatedly going to whatever site (probably anonymizer.com) that the software sends to before it redirects the traffic. The web-based ones like the late, great safeweb.com seem to be gone now, so you may end up having to pay for this service:(
it seems to me that things are actually moving the other way! Emulators are more popular now than ever and i would much rather play super nintendo games on my computer, save at any point i want and switch games withour restarting!
Actually a team in Major League Baseball (can't remember which one at the moment) is being accused of cooking their books to make it look like their losing money so they have a pity case when going into the labor talks with the players.
despite using the metric system for quite a while now, brits still drink PINTS of beer/ale/piss (whatever it is they call it):-P...some things will never change
The purpose of humongous drink cups is to provide an illusion of increased value. You can't tell me that 44 oz. of Coca-Cola is really worth the $1.79 they sell it for. Including the cost of the cup, it couldn't possible cost more than a couple of cents. But the consumer sees that he is getting SO MUCH MORE soda so he doesn't realize that he'll never be able to drink that much. Thats why the value meals come with the bigger drinks...so if you eat at the resturant, you don't go back for refills and you end up paying more for less. But, even if you do get the smallest size, they're still getting huge margins on each drink so they don't really care (and thus give you free refills). It basically boils down to them selling you what amounts to (the size of) 2 drinks in 1 cup, both of which you'll pay for, and one of which you'll actually be able to consume.
Well at least they can't give you the "its used and therefore in worse condition" excuse for not giving you anything for your sellbacks...but they again that means you can't buy used books!!! Noooooooooo! How are we supposed to afford this!! and what about books you may want to keep?? Frankly, I like having a Calculus and Differential Equations reference to take with me after I leave skool, just in case I ever need to use them. And I don't want to carry a laptop with me everywhere I go in order to study! One of the best ways to get cramming done is to lay out in the grass on a sunny day and read away! I want my paper back!

I'm a bit biased, but I'm a big fan of these:

modular, (usually) cheaper, and the UI can be a normal scope interface or it be anything you want with LabVIEW.

Does this mean we can finally get the anime off Cartoon Network? Please God, let it be so!
