While I do enjoy the anime art style, I certainly am not going to watch a bad show just because of its art.
OK, I'm going to admit something that might get me flamed, but I like InuYasha because of the storytelling and character development (when [as] deigns to air new episodes). My wife can't stand it and cringes when I put it on, claiming I only like it because it's Japanese.
It's a cheesy soap opera but I love watching the relationships developing and the conflict Kagome has between the feudal era and her home time.
They discovered that a gigabyte is great, but 99% of all users aren't using more than a megabyte a year. Therefore, they really don't need to worry about limits.
Funny, that's the mentality broadband ISPs used when pricing their plans...then when everyone had a killer app that actually used what they were sold, backpedaling and AUP-juggling ensued.
Maybe I'm confused, and no, I didn't RTFA. But I thought the issue was competitor ADS appearing, not search results.
If I'm searching for AC-Delco parts and some Bosch ads appear on the side (or top in that demarcated section), what's it to me if all the actual search hits are AC-Delco?
Plus, like others said, it's nice to have alternatives available.
GT3 was going to be the PS2's killer app, back when it was called GT2000. There's an official demo floating around and I think the date was set for between the Japanese (03/2000) and North American (10/2002) launches.
But the Delay Demons got ahold of the team and it didn't come out until much later.
In a strange way, it seems each PlayStation generation is destined for two GT's, as Sony states GT4 is the last full GT on PS2.
It's perfectly reasonable to expect GT5 to be PS3's crown jewel, but they need to figure out how to balance Yamauchi-san's perfectionism (and frankly, odd directing) with timing and fun.
Also, IIRC, the GT series is the best-selling series on PlayStation, bar none. Personally, I'm not sure where the FF games fall, but I'd love to see real sales charts.
On that subject, is there a petition around anywhere to get G4 to quit with the damn "G-Spot" overlays with annoying-as-hell SFX?
I saw the same ep you did, and aside from nearly crying at the remembered memories (born in '72 and saw pretty much the whole thing the first time 'round), that stupid spraycan made me want to kill someone...
Your retort is more insightful than you know...the Clone Wars shorts for Cartoon Network were directed by none other than PPG creator Genndy Tartakovski. Grievous is in it. He totally wails on some Jedi in a 3-on-1 battle. It's actually good stuff but I'm waiting to get the whole 20 5-minute episodes run together as one.

Assuming the blind driver in question isn't changing cars at red lights, it should take maybe 30 seconds to suss the pattern (auto or manual) in that car and use it.
For example, in my (auto) car, I know it's two clicks down from Park to Neutral. Then one up is Reverse or one down is Drive. Easy peasy. When I'm done driving, it's easier than that - just shove the selector all the way up.
For a stick, it's still easy, as long as you remember which side Reverse is on. When in doubt of the gear, just clutch out and pop it in Neutral and waggle the stick a bit to feel where the gear is.
Drive any car long enough and muscle memory will take over. of course, there's a larger issue with this discussion...
If the bank falls for your sob story and coughs up another twenty, they're out twenty bucks. If MS hands over your key, they aren't out anything except maybe some support time, and they've earned customer goodwill besides!
I got my GT4 + DVD set LAST FRIDAY - after the sales record had fallen.
So far, I'm pleased, but the lack of day-night cycles and saving progress in the pits for the longer enduros kinda pisses me off. But the control is as tight as Prologue's (especially braking) and is is as pretty as they all say.
Was it worth importing? Yup, especially if any of the local stores do "fast lap" competitions for a shot at a free copy of the U.S. release.
Gran Turismo A-spec was one of the first games released for that system...
Bzzt. GT3 didn't hit until July '01, 9 months after launch (11 months if you're going by the Japanese dates). IIRC, Smuggler's Run was a launch title, for comparison. And you obviously haven't seen ICO or MGS3 if you think GT3 is the pinnacle of PS2 poly-pushing prowess.
The PS2 is the weakest of the three in terms of raw potential, but there are excellent teams that can wring more out of its silicon than average teams on GCN and XBX...
Help me out here - I don't play online but want to understand:

I dunno. I sucked at Econ 101. However, I think most people associate "selling at a loss" to mean the price of one unit is set less than the raw material/production cost of that unit.
It gets trickier if dev/plant/design costs are factored in, where revenue from each sale goes to pay off dev costs until they're paid; then the fun begins.
If sales tank, then the company is stuck holding the title to a useless plant/design/etc.
Pretty much every console has started this way, but with enough units moved, all the bills are paid and each unit sale brings in money. It doesn't hurt that as with most production, costs drop as efficiencies are found.
Well, my experience with Sony is pretty much limited to the original WalkMan, the DiscMan (my first-ever CD player) and the PlayStation family.
Yes, I know recently they've been inventing new ways to do cool things stupidly, and are excellent at customer disservice.
I'm lucky I guess that my original PS2 (bought Nov 2000) still runs and my Japanese PS2 (a first-gen model bought used March 2002) also still runs. I'm not blind to the PS2 disc read errors many have had. I joked with my wife that the only reason Sony's cracked 70 million units is that the first 60 mil broke.
All that said, I can't imagine a life without Gran Turismo. I didn't choose my nick thoughtlessly. My real-world driving changed forever that summer... I've since been to racing school and I have a strong appreciation for what motorsport athletes go through, as well as their ridiculous skills (Schuey!).
I doubt seriously I'd ever buy a portable media player or in-car player from them precisely because of ATRAC and DRM.
