It was really good during the beta phase, playing Moto GP online = great. Unfortunately, when it launched, it started having some problems. Some of the lag was pretty tough.
Still, my major gripe with XBox Live is that there is no option to use a keyboard for the conversations, you're stuck with the headset.
Maybe the ants were in fact PC enthusiasts, set out to destroy every Mac in sight. Thank god this guy was able to stop the invasion in time, or this would have been the end of Apple.
And I'll tell you why. The solution that they originally proposed involved charging the webcasters based on the number of listeners. Even though most of them were not making money, they would still be forced to pay royalties.
The new legislation will charge them a percentage of the money they make! So if you're a small webcaster who is NOT profiting from the streams, you wouldn't have to pay.
Frankly, I don't have a license to any of the ROMs I use. And I have 4.6Gb worth of MAME ROMs stored on CDs.
I figure, with the thousands of dollars worth of quarters I dropped into the evil arcade machines, I deserve to at least be able to play arcade games in a small window with a Gravis Gamepad. It's not quite the arcade experience, but it sure is fun.:)
I really like the way the 2.5 kernel is progressing, a lot of the patches that I've been applying manually to the 2.4 tree have already been merged into the main tree of the 2.5 kernel.
Can't wait until release, this thing is going to rock.:)
Nope, sorry, not me. I'll be fine as long as they keep airing Cowboy Bebop, which is pretty much the only thing that interests me on Cartoon Network at the moment.
I totally agree with your complaints, networking ability would be awesome. But, according to a statement from a Rockstar employee, they are planning to add networking to GTA4. If Vice City is as big of a hit as GTA3 was, I'd assume that they're going to get started on GTA4 immediately.
Two days ago? The original news release by Stanford was posted on 10/21/02. The article slashdot is linking to was posted on 10/22/2002. I don't know what kind of a time warp you're living in, but today is 10/22/2002.
I did. I even had to read the article before I figured out that they were talking about Ultima Online, it'd really be nice to see that information in the post itself.
Hehe, I had to read that comment at least 3 times to understand what you were trying to say. If you were in fact trying to confuse me and my fellow slashbots, you have succeeded, kind sir!
AFAIK, they were _never_ going to GPL the code. They said they would release it under the Wine license, and Wine's license at the time was the X11 license.
Don't worry, you don't have a chance in becoming a beta tester anyway. According to a post by one of the NWN developers on their forums the other day, they have 30 something thousands requests already. And that was just on the day the beta test launched, which was Monday, the 22nd.
I think the issue is that Windows is an operating system that comes with all of these components preinstalled, and KDE is just a desktop environment, that you're free to install or remove at any time.
NASA has their own channel? They really could have used that during Apollo 13 instead of lying to Tom Hanks and the boys.

VIVA LA REVOLUTION!

Actually, he did it with the "competiton". :)

Karyn is some girl who made a website begging for money because she has a huge credit card debt. Her website is at http://www.savekaryn.com.

# Greplaw still uses GIFs. What should we do instead?
Use PNG or JPEG images, depending on which gives you the best quality and image size. Almost all browsers in use today support both.
I don't think the interview was about promoting the BurnAllGifs campaign, it was more about finding out what makes Don Marti tick.

There was a story about it, check it out here.
NullSoft released an alpha version of their Linux port of WinAmp, I think that can be considered as a resorce put towards noticing us.
Actually, they already released a patch today!

Well, um, install a Duke Nukem game then, maybe Duke
Nukem Forever will get released. *grin*
Use the NYT Random Login Generator to get around that pesky registration requirement.
Yeah, that's true... I just worded my comment incorrectly, sorry about that.

Bah, if I can get Step 1 completed, I won't bother killing Microsoft, I'll buy myself a small third-world country. :P
No soup. It's there, but all it does is remove access to Internet Explorer from the desktop or the start menu.
