One program that does come with Windows XP Pro is a Web browser called 'Microsoft Internet Explorer.'
Another problem I noticed with Explorer is something called "popup ads."
Please don't argue with me about this... I'm telling you to dump Outlook for your own good. Really.
My copy of Windows XP Pro seems to have a program included with it called 'Windows Messenger' that, as far as I can tell, is some sort of ad delivery mechanism.
I'm generally satisfied with what's available to me in Linux, but I recognize that others may not be, any more than they would be satisfied driving an old but reliable pickup truck instead of a low-slung, zoomy sports car with all kinds of fancy power accessories.
...is foobar2000. Great features, small footprint.
Whenever a programmer thinks, "Hey, skins, what a cool idea", their computer's speakers should create some sort of cock-shaped soundwave and plunge it repeatedly through their skulls.
An excellent Notepad replacement is metapad. No faster editor has more features, and no editor with more features is faster.
I recommend making use of PlanetFeedback.com when going up against The Man.
I spent an absurd length of time fighting Verizon Wireless (and, to a lesser degree Citibank) when they withdrew a bill payment from my account and then shut off my service. I wrote a letter via PF and soon got a call from a guy who gave me back my service, cleared my record, refunded $100, and paid for two months of service. Woot.

Put your heads together! Come up with a feasible way for the RIAA to migrate to a new business model and make all our lives easier.
I have enough trouble trying to make money for myself; you want me to help people I hate make money instead?
Y'all need to work out some sort of linking style guide. Making the title of the discussed article a mailto link rather than a link to the article itself...
I just don't see much of an appeal. People who want to program for game consoles would probably rather program for Xbox or PS2, consoles that are more popular and powerful.
Then again, I know nothing about console programming.
Dagnabbit, how hard is it to make your links sensible? I spend way too much time (~3 sec!) trying to figure out which of your links is the link and which are backstory.
"Online Journalism Review", links to that periodical's site, which is logical enough -- but why would "David Mikkelson" link to anything but a page about Mr. Mikkelson? "Interview" should be the link to the interview.
Well, yeah... but while the little things add up to a big thing, the big things add up to a monstrosity. We need to concern ourselves with how we throw away cars and refrigerators before we deal with batteries.
Batteries are tiny tiny compared to what gets thrown out. (Like CDs: yeah, the world landfills are filling up because of AOL.) And they stopped putting mercury in 'em so they aren't even that bad for the environment.
You want to make a difference? Drive an efficient car (if you must drive one at all) and recycle what you can.
I'd just like to say that I installed 1.0 when it came out and absolutely could not stand it. So clunky and slow and weird. And that fucking "Thorndale".
The 1.1 beta I installed a few weeks ago has made me a convert.

Christ, what an asshole.

What about the terrible GUI? That's the real crime here!

What are you thinking?

Indeed this post is straight out of Lucky Wander Boy .
If there's no such thing as a moment, doesn't that suggest that we aren't, in fact, trapped in a computer simulation?
No, dude, you're on to something. My cousin was saying just the same thing, and she's David Mikkelson's babysitter's boyfriend's best friend.

Am I a crank? Or do I make sense? (Or both?)

They must really have faith in the product; apparently they'll be supporting it for (at least) 96 years.

Doesn't bother me too much; I plan to be a robot by 2050 anyway.
So, if it's available, surely somebody's got a bittorrent for it?
if your urine is clear, you're set.
Yeah, if you have opaque urine, I'd definitely worry.
Yeah, ease-of-use sucks.
Maybe he likes developing Perl.
Very nice. But as soon as you pause a live broadcast, it obviously stops being live.

Does anyone else think putting an installer inside of a zipfile is just silly? It's like installing it twice!
Open Office on Linux : 176
For this to be really fair, you should be comparing Windoze to Linsux.
You misspelled "Micro$oft".
