I'm constantly amazed at how many slashdot people complain about windows crashing, buggy, virus filled, or some other excuse. Either the slashdot crowd is not as intelligent as I think or they don't really use their computers as much as they like people to believe.
I went from Mac to Windows and very rarely do I have a windows crash/virus/bug problem. I'm actively using my PC for 8+ hours at work and then for a few hours ever night at home. Then again for many hours on weekends. One would think with as much use that my PC's get I would encounter some of the problems that others do. But I don't. Either I'm really good, or most slashdot complainers are not as smart as they pretend to be.
I don't think I'm really good. Does Windows have "problems"? Sure it does. Every OS has problems. Are those problems as large and earth shattering as some people and the media make them out to be? No, not even remotely as big.
Great so they can jack up the ticket prices even higher to pay for the "jamming" camcorders for the very very small percentage of theaters or people that try to record that way?
Its hard enough to bicycle along the lake while people that don't follow normal riding rules don't know how to not ride down the middle of the sidewalk or swerve or ride on the wrong side. Now you'll have to share traffic with segways that will crowd the sidewalk even more? The drivers will probably act like suv drivers and think that they have the right and only way.
Ok, if you have to apply for credit to buy a PC you don't need to buy that PC. Computers are one of those things that if you can't afford to pay for it all at once then you shouldn't be buying it. This isn't a car or a house.
GT games have always been more of a driving game and not really a racing game. If it were a racing game they would put in vehicle damage and put emphasis on racing instead of everything looking shiny new.
You may have "learned" in college but you sure didn't learn anything. College is a lot more than just getting a degree. It is about the experience as much as its about getting that piece of paper that says you passed.
Even she needs alone time. Schedule certain days each week where you each get alone time (2 or 3 weekdays, but keep weekends as together time). Not only will it do wonders for the relationship but it will also make the times together even better.
So is it still just going to sit under the desk out of view like the majority of PC's?

Pretty pictures and animation could not save that horrible piece of junk. The majority of the comments by other people in the theater after seeing that were all the same:
I bet this first PSP will be a flop but it won't deter sony. Sony will strike back with a better device that is cheaper ($99-$150) and actually has 10 hours of gameplay battery life. Price and battery life are the things that will hold back the PSP.
The DS is as powerful as a N64 and has the battery life of a GBA, but will only cost a little more than a SP.
From what I understand it takes more gas and produces more emissions just at startup. Yes idling produces more than when moving but still. Also have to consider the wear and tear on the car.
Do you then tip the gas pumper? I've never been in a state that doesn't let you pump your own gas. I surely wouldn't tip them seeing as how its such a brainless activity. If the guy bursts into flames I sure as hell wouldn't want to be sitting in the car with that fireball next to my gas tank.
Why in the world would he be running a windows based machine without some kind of hardware firewall? They are super cheap and will keep out these worms that are still around when you do a clean install. Its his own stupid fault not windows.
He also says he's on a dialup. Ugh...why even bother to get online then. If it were that important he should have downloaded the patches on a working system first so that he wouldn't of even had to get online in the first place.
Yeah really. I'm in the same boat as I'm sure a bunch of other folks are too. All waiting for doom 3 and HL2 to be out in the stores before they buy a new machine. I thought initially the beginning of the year, now its looking like late summer. Oh well, lets me save more.

"As low as $144 per month!"

Actually the bulk of your post was about colleges wasting money on technology that YOU didn't feel was necessary.

Too bad it can't carry the CD logo if they add copy protection like that. Won't be following the spec.

Ahhh, RFID. The latest topic that gets some slashdotters panties all in a bunch.
But with RFID at least the store will instantly know what kind of panties they are so you can reorder them.
Thats called dumping. Being the US Gov't I bet they can get around it.
Except for the pictures where they took it out of the ground, removed the covered, showed the 3 digit code, and took out the batteries.
Which were buried out of sight to create a barrier. They had no right to disturb what was buried and didn't belong to them.
Yeah, my car is sitting out on a public street. Touching it and taking it apart shouldn't be a crime either?

Well, at least it looked pretty.
Ahhh...prefect example of why the whole US needs year round schooling. No summer breaks.

But you are still paying for the priviledge of having unlimited nights/weekends. And not everyone gets that kind of plan either.
You are not the target audience. The majority of their target audience don't stay in and watch tv on friday nights.
I hope they finish/kill the stupid temporal cold war story line. Friday nights will kill the show for good though.
