One of my biggest beefs with windows has always been how desperately they try to hide the actual file structure on the system, to the point where you don't actually know where some stuff is. Why is My computer the start of your HD and not C:. I am a mac user and barely ever use windows, although I'm competent enough in it, but I can't stand it when I have absolutely no idea where files like My Documents or the desktop folder of a user that you are not logged into actually are.
Not to mention fake American biased history such as in U571
The movie industry is exactly what they call themselves, an industry. They aren't into educating people about history; they would rather make money. People in the US don't want to watch a bunch of Brits, they want to see their own honorable troops. If you want a history lesson, go to class, not the movie theater.
For ultimate security simply shred pages of the printed goatse picture with your other documents. Nobody slowly peicing together you documents would want to stare at that horrible image for that long.
I would like to know your theory on how to strengthen education while decreasing spending on it. I'm sure many parents and school board members would like to hear it too.
Don't down play West Nile virus too much. Yes, its threat to humans is way overblown, but it has had some major effects. Where I live there used to be a very big population of crows, so many that they were a nuisance. West Nile came last year and wiped them all out. I have not seen a single crow for a year. I would call that a serious impact.
You could try epee instead of foil and saber, because it has been about hitting people first all along, and there is the added bonus of being able to score anywhere on the body, which leads to fun toe or mask shots.
I have seen many comments about how steel frames on bikes are "light and lively" and as an outsider to the biking world. I am honestly wondering what does lively mean in terms of a bike frame?
iBooks along with most laptops have very nice removable battery packs. Maybe a system could be devised where the battery pack could be swapped out for the methanol cell whenever you need something for a much longer time than 4-5 hours. Then when your off the plane you can put your battery back in and go back to using your standard convenient energy source; ie the wall.
Well many people, such as Sprint PCS users do have to pay to recieve SMS since they must go into the wireless web browser and use a web based (read: slow and very non-robust) to access all phone messaging. It is one of the most annoying parts of the PCS service which in other areas is quite good.
I was being sarcastic. You said that anything that passed through the skin of an airplane would pass through you and not be dangerous. Gamma radiation needs 2 inches of lead or about a foot of concrete to stop it therefore it should pass through you. According to your logic it wouldn't hurt you but it obviously does.
According to your explanation, gamma radiation would be quite safe to be exposed to. Afterall, it can pass through lead and concrete, so of course it can pass through you leaving you unharmed. Yeah right...
Although it is true that in general artists get much better cuts from online single sales than from albums, they may still have legitimate fears about it. Perhaps they fear that music may turn into a sort of single-serving per artist thing. Perhaps they don't want people talking about a cool song they heard, instead of a cool band they heard. Getting a single song from a band hardly builds the kind of fanaticism and hard-core fandom that albums sales build. If everyone just buys artist's singles then they will never get a true real following they will just be monthly fads that fade.
I have a friend that coded and runs a similar web-based college-network search engine. He knows full well that he could be sued and wants to fight any case the RIAA brings against him. He has done interviews for one of the National World News stations (can't remember which one) and he has been in an article in the New York Times. He has already talked to some non-forprofit groups that would defend him if he did get sued, and he intends to fight it to the bitter end. He is much more brave than this guy.
What the hell are you talking about? Did you see the movie, or did you just read a buncha whiney negative reviews? What did he sacrifice to saver her? Sure theres a love interest in the movie, but that hasn't eclipsed the real story there at all.
The article says its an extension of their DSL service, in other words these people are already paying them. There would most likely be some sort of authentication.
The horse and buggy analogy's purpose appeared to me to highlight the antiquity of RIAA's business model. Obviously Ford wasn't stealing horse and buggies. The point is that the business they were in became pointless and obsolete, what causedd this, piracy or new technology, is irrelavent. The music industry is also becoming obsolete, because practically anybody can record songs with qualities just as good as them. P2P abuse is simply a precursor to a paradigm shift that will change being a musician forever.

Who needs sophisticated DOS attacks when simple jamming would do the trick quite well.
Rich people don't ever steal...Winona taught us that!
Well Apple will release it after MS in a more refined and functional form, and then quickly attempt to patent it.

Very true, but how innovative is stuff like Open Office or GIMP?

There are very few problems in the world where the solution isn't scavenger robots, and it those cases, the solution is lasers.
Or the 101st depending on your point of view

It is more than likely that it won't be any RIAA action that kills this feature, but rather Apple action, because this could be seen as a liability.

Hmmm, I must be playing to much Magic: The Gathering because I immediately thought, what does it matter if the shark can be blocked or not.
Everquest moving to middle earth will just simply require a new worldmap, and renaming some things. Halfling->Hobit, Dark Elf->Orc, etc...
