That kind of confused me, the umami taste is caused by glutamates which are sometimes found in protein heavy foods but also come from such random places as tomatoes, seaweed or a number of fermented sauces. Protein doesn't really have anything to do with it.

  3. There's something else on Sweet, Sour, Salty, Bitter, Protein ... and Now Fat · · Score: 3, Funny

What the summary doesn't mention is that the BMIs of the sample group were inversely proportional to their ability to sense fat.

Did you really skim that fast? This is about a completely different movie that just happens to have been made by the same art director. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that they put out copies of this it looks really interesting.

"a market that can satisfy people of all walks of life", count me out, I really hate MMOs. I might be biased though because I started playing back in the early 90's on various MUDs which were a) free and b) a lot more creative with their game mechanics. Give me a good old tabletop RPG any day of the week.

" The report is based on a survey conducted between October 2008 and May 2009 among a nationally representative sample of 2,002 3rd-12th grade students ages 8-18, including a self-selected subsample of 702 respondents who completed seven-day media use diaries, which were used to calculate multitasking proportions."

It also is biased by the type of respondent who would complete a seven day media diary, wth kaiser.

With a 29% multitasking cut, so from 10:45 total it comes down to 7:38

Not really sure this is all that surprising to me, it's hard for me to feel alarmed over the print and music portions of the time.
