  1. Don't think you understand the situation. It was tested, and reported. It just wasn't treated like a showstopper bug. Perhaps your complaint is more like "Doesn't anyone care about quality anymore?"

  2. Re: Post the source code on Apple Tells Lawmakers iPhones Are Not Listening In On Consumers (reuters.com) · · Score: -1

You cannot use "many eyes" argument against open source bugs and as a pro for Apple closed source. You're fucking delusional if you think outgoing encrypted traffic is getting heavily scrutinized by many competent security researchers.

The Saudis getting pissy and throwing a ridiculous hissy fit at Canada and liquidating billions makes more sense if it's to put the money into Tesla.

  4. Cool, you mean like iPXE?

  5. Did you actually look at the snippet of GotoFail code? There's no logical reason for a merge to have inserted the 2nd fail. There's total shenanigans going on. Either nefarious or extremely incompetent. I can't see how patch could fuck it up and not be done intentionally. But they've shown time and time again what their QA testing is very poor. Other companies were doing fuzz testing and buying security testing companies for years before Apple got a whiff of fuzz testing.

  6. "Uh, I'm going to need some real nudes from celebs to train the AI. The more the better."

  7. It annoys me looking at fail2ban logs for all the scans and hack attempts. 3 attempts, sure, but more than 10? At that point, I would rather the attacker think he found an exploit and drop him in some harmless jail or do something to waste his bandwidth or slow down his scan attempts, etc. A Lenny alternative for hacking attempts instead of phone calls from telemarketers.

??? You do know it's all about hard drive speed, right? Hmm, seems you don't. Get an SSD and updates will be far less.

  9. No, your next step is to look at the failed upgrade logs to determine what is broken about YOUR setup. You may have bad hardware, corrupted files, insufficient space, broken write permissions, wrong driver loading, etc. Not sure why hitting up google to learn about getting the logs wasn't thought of earlier before so many wasted failed attempts. Are you sure you're on the right site?

  10. The showstopper preventing me from setting up non technical friends and parents is the lack of printer support. Found out after buying a Google Cloud print capable printer that OOB setup still needed to be done from a PC or MAC.

  14. Citation? My assumption a nighttime robbery is not to get caught and try and avoid people. I can only go by my experience, but I've heard far, far more accidentally showing up in wrong apartment or house stories than home attacks at night. Though, I've lived in smaller Canadian towns than fucking gun toting crime areas.

  18. The differences in TDP testing and reporting has been well known for years. I remember reading about that for years because AMD had much higher TDP's and review sites spoke about the testing and ratings. Apple and Intel also have test data coming out their asses. You look really silly defending them for this super obvious blunder. Fucking Engineers learn to deal with maximum and worst case scenarios from first week of school. To trot out some average power shit is basically declaring knowing sweet fuck all about engineering. Seriously, you look pathetic defending Apple EVERY fucking time. They are huge, they are going to fuck up. A lot. Get used to it.

  19. So, they fucked up their Apple-only hardware lock down code? Also, that legendary QA of theirs.
