...someone will probably discover a different brand of pen that will open the new locks as well.
It's already been discovered. My friend and I have were playing with different models of Kryptonite locks. Whenever the BIC pen was too small, the BIC cap was just the right size. The clip needed to be cut off but that was about it. Although I have to admit, twisting the small pen cap is much harder.
I had old college friends just like him. Back when DAT recorders first came out, I had two friends who were the 1st to buy them. Then they bought vaccuum tubes and other bits to make a pre-amp for the DAT. At least, I was told it was a pre-amp. I could never hear a difference and these guys knew just enough to build a pre-amp but not enough to tell if it was working right.
So hook up was to DAT -> pre-amp -> giant head-enclosing headphones. The DAT player was about the size of a harddrive and had to be kept in their backpack. The pre-amp was size of a thick, hardcover book and had to be held since the volume control was there. And these guys walked all over campus with this setup.
I always tried to avoid them whenever they were listening to music. Which wasn't hard since I only had to stay out of visual range.
...it allows the airlines to stop people from transfering tickets and increases their sales.
The airlines don't need a law do that. It's already legal for them just to tell you the terms and conditions when you buy a non-refundable non-tranferrable ticket. If you end up buying the ticket, you're stuck with those terms.
When you buy a ticket you have a short period to make changes. Once the deadline comes the airlines are keeping your money. You can make changes, but there'll be a fee. Or you can cancel the flight but there'll be a fee and you'll only get credit for the ticket. And I believe you'll have to use the credit within a year or you have nothing.
Handwriting recognition.

All I ever wanted was real handwriting recognition in a Palm PDA. Pull out the 1/2 to 1 megapixel camera, pull out chips that decode mp3 files and put in some dedicated handwriting recognition chips. In fact, remove everything, start over from scratch, and put handwriting recognition in first.
I'd be happy just getting the electronic equivalent of a notepad and pencil so long as the handwriting recognition's good, and it could sync to computer. In a pretty quick period of time, they'd probably be dirt cheap and I could have a few to use at home and work.
Yes, I could just use a notepad and pencil. But I've seen what happens with prolonged use. My dad's done that for years. And now he's got loose collection of paper and business cards, 3 inches thick, sitting in his breast pocket everyday. Every morning, he transfers this block of paper from yesterdays shirt into today's shirt. He's found stuff in that block that info over 6 years old and completely useless.
I guess really just want digital paper and I'll have to wait 10+ years for it.
I know it's still speculation but multiplayer over IP better be there also. If it's only VOIP, then the DS is mimicking the functions of a highly crippled cell phone. Why would I use my DS to call my friend on his DS even if it were free? We'd both have to be in range of a free access point, or have some subscription to a paid AP, and the DS would have to be standby mode to receive calls.
My friends and I already have cell phones. If I was concerned about the price of making a call with my cell phone, I probably wouldn't have a DS.
I'm getting tired of this 'featuritis' where both Sony and Nintendo are adding features like mad. I just want new portable system to play games, play games wirelessly, and play games over IP via Gameboy Live or PS Live.
Microsoft is partly to blame, but they're the biggest fish in the sea.
I'd say that MS is mostly to blame. Here's another analogy.
It's one thing for me leave the door of my house unlocked or invite in a criminal. But it's not my fault when the builder leaves a gaping hole on the side of my house.
It was thought that Apollo spoke through the Oracle of Delphi. The Linux kernel was originally recited by the Oracle of Delphi in a trance that lasted for days. It was dutifully copied down by the Oracle's attendants. But the Greeks, like the Romans, didn't have a proper decimal or binary number system and the source code couldn't be compiled. Because of the failure, everyone then decided that Oracles were just sucking up poisonous gases and hallucinating.
The original ancient text from the Oracle of Delphi is now in the possession of CEO Larry Ellison.
The ancient Druids at the time did have a binary number system, and they attempted to compile from source. But phrase "monolithic kernel" was mistranslated into "circle of monoliths". Stonehenge is earlist Linux artifact in the world.
It wasn't until Linus Torvalds, a direct descendent of both the Oracle of Delphi and the lead builder of Stonehenge that the source was finally compiled.
Also FYI word "geek" is just a bastardization of the word "Greek" because of another mistranslation by those Druids.
Sorry if it's the wrong answer. Just yesterday I thought about installing linux on my M10000 and found this. But I haven't installed linux and applied the patch yet.
Course, having the wrong answer never stopped me from posting on/. before.

Course, that brings up the question "What would Jesus serve?"
Like the old adage says, "It's easier to ask forgiveness than permission."
Course, the old adage never had to deal with lawyers.

You always find something to complain about if you just try hard enough.
Well, I'm as cultured as I'll ever be when it comes to gaming. Now, onto music, painting, & calligraphy.

I'm amazed that Google hasn't done a KDE language interface.
Stop giving them ideas! I'm blaming you if it comes up months from now.
I think the main drain will be the LCD screen.
Sony makes a ton of MD players for Japan. With little gumpack battery, the MD players easily get over 30 hour playtime.
Granted, MD players spin up, read stuff into cache and spin down to save energy and this method might not work with the PSP.
It'll be released on the same day as Windows SP2 and the sequel to Duke Nukem Forever, affectionately known as Duke Nukem Forever-Forever.

All this War [Blank] is getting old.
2. Sell anti-virus software that 'somehow' works the best.
3. Take over the world.
I'm submitting a patent for idiotic patent approvals. That way I'll get royalties whenever the USPTO approves another idiotic patent.
And for pros, having to spend another $500 is like a /. reader needing buy extra AA's for their latest gadget.
