Anyone from Toronto, ON (or those who've ever watched Toronto's international Santa Claus Parade) remember Toronto Police Services' "Blinky" ? Prior art, I think so!
Three things you probably want to be aware of are:
Pupil size
Beyond a certain diameter, laser surgery is not reccommend -- it's rare to be above this cutoff. Make sure you ask about this, and remember that pupil size generally increases at night / in the dark.
Night Vision
Some laser techniques are better than others with respects to night vision. Seeing fuzzy halos all the time isn't fun.
Obviously, you don't want to do this if your eye prescription has changed within the previous year or so. Most doctors will tell you if you've been stable for 1yr you're good, but the longer the better.
Good luck with whatever you choose to do. If you're anywhere near Toronto, Ontario, I can recommend Herzig Eye Institute.
AHA! This is the killer app needed to get 3D Mice to go mainstream!

Anyone else remember this from Logitech a while back? I remember Sierra Online was trying to hawk it in their product catalog (disguised as a games magazine) bundled with their games back in the mid-90s, when FPS games were just starting to take off.
...and find something that piques your interest. Best advice I can give you. Go undeclared first year, take the basic prerequisites for year 2 of the the program you are most interested in studying NOW (e.g. take 1st year calc and 1st year CS courses if you want to go that route) so that if you don't find something that interests you more, you can transfer in officially after your frosh year (assuming you get the marks), and for the rest of your timetable, take a little bit of everything else; especially stuff that you have no idea what it is about. I know several "geeks" who ended up loving first year anthro, and minoring/double degreeing in it, just to give one example. Taking random courses may worry you, but if you don't like something, you'll know within the first 2 lectures, giving ample time to drop it and swap in something else.
Myself, I ended up going to psychology after my first year, while doing the CS as a minor (and hearing repeatedly "wow, weird mix" as a result). Didn't know a thing about psych going into first year save, "a lot of chicks take it", and now I'm going for my Masters. So, in sum: diversify -- what you find interesting may surprise you.
Anonymous Game Developers Interactive (Formerly Tierra Entertainment) have 2 great adventure game remakes, Sierra On-Line's Kings Quest I and II, both done in KQ5-ish VGA graphics -- and KQII+ (as they call it) have some new stuff thrown in... very good games. They are also working on a remake of the 2nd Quest For Glory (a.k.a. Hero's Quest), in SVGA.
This sounds like a solution to 2 problems: overflowing landfills, and soaring oil prices. The question, of course, comes to down to the almighty buck. The article (yes, I read it, I'm new here) states that it such plants are self-sufficient in terms of producing their own energy to operate, but fails to state their initial cost.
In these times of short-sighted administrations led by politicians unable to see the big picture beyond getting reeleced in 4 years, how likely is this to be implemented en-masse in municipalities such as Toronto, for example, where it could be used to curb (apparently in an eco-friendly manner, while providing needed petroleum) exports of waste to Michigan?
Saved me $$$. I was driving a Hynundai Accent (1998), small car, roughly 50L tank; filled up every 5 days or so at a cost of about CDN$30. About CDN$190 a month
Switched to a Civic Hybrid, do the same amount of driving, costs me just shy of CDN$100 a month for gas nowadays.
In Toronto, Canada we have...Something like 4 subway lines?
Three. Bloor-Danforth, Yonge-University-Spadina, and the recent Sheppard line. Scarborough Rapid Transit (aka the "blue" route, as it appears on the map, is NOT subway).
And then there's the fucking 407 - the most expensive highway in North America (or so I'm told).
Transponder boxes help a little; if you don't like the price, stay off it. Alternates include: 401, Eglinton Ave., Hwy 7 (parts), Lawrence Blvd. (parts, as an alternate to Eglinton).
I've lived and worked in the Yonge/Sheppard area for 8years, have done the commute (Oakville), and honestly have not found the 401 to be THAT bad if you hit it at the right time and know when/where to switch between collectors/express. The Gardener/QEW is far worse in the morning. Stop complaining.
I think Tim Curry would make a good narrator. He's no stranger to voice acting, either, as he did the voice for the Gabriel Knight games series (not including the lackluster second-installment).... and he's British!
While I dislike the practice, as it basically forces you to buy every console out there (provided you want to play the games), it's nothing new. Nintendo had exclusive Squaresoft, then Sony had it, and while now, Square-Enix seems to be branching out to more be a multiplatform company, the GBA and Gamecube titles, interestingly, are both exclusives to each console, respectively. I bought an XBox because of Star Wars: KOTR, there's an exclusive. I bought a PS2 for GTA3: Vice City. I bought a GCN for Resident Evil and Zelda.
It's a marketing ploy, and it's not going anywhere, because it works. If "Console A" is the only one with "Game B" that you have to have, you'll buy `em both. Period.
She might not have the cashflow, but if what an earlier poster said about the Racketeering Act covering legal fees is true, that mightn't matter.
I quote the earlier poster:
Section 1964 of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act not only provides for civil remedies in cases like this, but also automatically triples the damages and covers court costs and lawyers' fees.
Please don't bankrupt these poor chaps -- CDRs may be cheap, but they ain't free; nor is shipping.
I use JOE, you insensitive clod.
Pick a movie, ANY movie, they're all bad.
I believe you're referring to Van Wilder with this one.
No, you missed:
Step Three: Set arbitrary stock price for IPO absurdly high, causing several market analysts to go WTF?
Step Four: Cross fingers
Step Five: ???
Step Six: Profit.

Found a review of it here.
Apparently, Logitech even made a second, newer version, as seen here. I had the original, I thought it sucked.

Hmm, I just hope the robots don't stop working after they let 7 goals get by them.
I'm afraid of these things... what if I happen to like drinking Pepsi?
Amateurs... B-52s are simple to make; and cheap!
Layer the Kahlua, Amaretto, and Irish Cream into a shot glass in that order. After drinking, notice the Vapor Trails.
I mean, really, aren't they teaching ANYTHING in schools nowadays?

Of course, YMMV.

Oh yeah, that's ALL we need, John Cleese autopiloting our cars. "James!!!".
You mean $219; don't forget the modchip.
That episode, more than any other reason, is why I envy you, Wil. "Mr. First-I-get-to-be-on-Star-Trek-then-I-get-to-make- out-with-Ashley-Judd"
Ya lucky bastard.
How does this affect shows on networks such as HBO... last time I checked, Tony Soprano happened to like the "f-word".
I think Tim Curry would make a good narrator. He's no stranger to voice acting, either, as he did the voice for the Gabriel Knight games series (not including the lackluster second-installment).... and he's British!

Sucks, but it's true.

I quote the earlier poster:
To be fair, he did create the torso and face decals himself, as explained in his FAQ.
