No, they're not punishing anyone. They're just collecting a huge database of who downloaded the program and what purpose (depending on filename), plus assigning each computer a unique ID that ran the file.

I was about to say Uplink, but I just remembered that it actually used two or three networked computers. One for the main screen, one for the world map and one for something else.. connectivity screen? email? I don't remember. Anyways, if that's the kinda stuff they're proposing with the DS, it sounds pretty good to me. The problem is getting developers to actually USE it. I like the Gameboy => GCN connector but there's just not enough use for it.

Ministumbler is available for PocketPC based systems. I don't know if it'll work with the e740's card tho. Depends on if it's a Prism or not really. So far they only have it working with Orinoco based cards I think in PPC. Also there's a port of Kismet to Familiar Linux, which can be loaded onto Ipaqs for sure, just don't know if there's a Toshiba port.

One of the most interesting things that I've heard about both the X-Box and GameCube discs are that the way they are recorded, they start from the outside and go in, similar to vinyl LP's. Supposedly it was done to make load times faster, since most of the data is on the outer edge of the disc, where the read time is the fastest on an optical drive.

Threatcon goes from Alpha to Delta, with Alpha being the lowest. Alpha is "almost normal" condition whereby everyone on base is a little more alert to the possibility of a threat, and Delta is complete lockdown.

And yes, I do know what I'm talking about. I work on an Air Force base in south Texas and we've been stuck in Bravo since 9/11. I remember getting stuck in a building for about 5 hrs when we hit Delta shortly after the incident.
