  7. Nintendo isn't dying, their console is dying. on Nintendo Running Itself into the Ground? · · Score: 2, Insightful

Nintendo is a profitable company with billions in the bank (I remember a year or two ago a report that Nintendo has around 8 billion USD in the bank).

Nintendo's problem isn't that they can't make good games. They have completely messed up their entire image. Don't make purple consoles, while I think nothing of it there are a lot of stupid people who didn't buy the console cause it looked 'gay'. Everyone buys the black ones, so when you go to a store and see nothing but purple gamecube's, there's someone who thought about buying one but when looking at the sleek black and green Xbox or the black and blueish PS2, they probably went for it.

Nintendo ALSO needs to suck it up about their "WE know what is best for the gamer" attitude. They have said that, basically, in many interviews over the recent years.

Nintendo KNOWS people want portables, but they don't realize how much money they could make if they'd concentrate on their best online capabilities. Maybe they'll do this with their next console that is being released...late next year or early 2006, can't remember when they said they are launching it.

  11. Nintendo's biggest problem on Gamecube MMORPG Back From the Dead · · Score: 2, Insightful

The biggest problem with Nintendo that I have seen is the fact that they think they know what gamers want, but they don't. Gamers want online gameplay. Nintendo says "we are sure that gamers aren't ready for this yet" but look at how many people play online with a Ps2 and Xbox? Xbox Live is mad, if GameCube had good online games with something along the lines of Xbox live I think they'd be doing a lot better.

Nintendo has said that they are sticking to what gamers want, but they don't know. I know several people who bought an Xbox soley so they could play a console online, a few of those people would have bought GameCubes for online play if it would have had it.

Erm, WoW was a little rough at launch. EQII was completely flawless. I have been playing EQII and have yet to open te launchpad only to find a server is down (for more than 2-3 minutes, and it's only down for 2-3-4 minutes usually when I'm not going to be playing). I have yet to have any problems with any servers, they're giving us three days free and accelerated XP gain for their downtime.

Everyone I know has MAD graphics problems with EQ2 with their uber systems, but these people are idiots because they are turning the graphics as high as they can get them. WoW runs smoothly cause it really doesn't require much more power than Everquest 1. I run EQ2 on medium settings perfectly with little to no lag.

I believe if individual cities/counties/states wants to legalize public marijuana smoking, that's the local government's business. I think there should be fines for people smoking pot in public areas, particularly areas where people are going to be all the time (city streets, parks, etc.). However, I think whatever the fsck you want to do in your own home is your business. If someone wants to sit on their property and smoke pot all day, so be it unto them.

I heard somewhere they are very close to being able to create stem cells without actually having conception with a sperm and an egg, if this is true I am in full support of it.
