I use preditive text, it's alot faster for me, the casual SMS user. For those excessive types that never stop sending text messages it is probly slower. However for those who look at the keys etc, it is alot faster.
As for filtering calls, my current nokia can do that (6610), by setting different caller groups with different ringtones (or no ringtones).
The latest version of the Xenium OS for the xenium modchip supports USB Devices, as do many of the media players for the Xbox.
Of course an adapter is needed to connect a USB device to one of the controller ports, but these are widely and cheaply available, microsoft will even supply these! (offically to be used with PSO for keyboards, PSO is an MMORPG)
It is worth noting that the controllers include a "usb hub" of sorts, with the two memory slots in the top of each controller, as an unmodded xbox seems unable to tell the difference between an official memory card and a usb thumbdrive pluged into a controller port.
This support of USB devices is currently being widely used for TSOP softmod exploits.
The xbox is an excellent media center and has served me well, altho xbox modchips are currently legal where I am (Australia), altho that is set to change in early 2005 when the free trade agreement (and dmca like provisions) come into effect.
If its still legal where you are, I reccomend getting a modded xbox, its a great console, great media player and a great general purpose machine:)

Then the marketing droids get quite exited about this idea, oo another "feature" to make sure our consumers only get a "high quality product" and not some "pirate copy" by mistake... These people have no idea how things actually work.
Look at windows xp for example, product activation... a very annoying feature that you have to live with if you buy the product legitimatly (excluding corporate versions), however when you get a nice pirated copy all that horrid protection is removed and you get a peice of software that doesnt try to stop you from using it (ok maybe windows was a bad example).
The LEGITIMATE users are the only ones who end up getting screwed, the people who have pirate copies never even notice the protection because its all been removed before release.
So once again legitimate paying users are left with a barely useable product and the pirates can actually play the game.

The creativity of people is being destroyed by this, no longer can we safely spawn anything as we envision it in our minds without facing the threat of legal action from simple minded people with very little base for legitimate complaint.
