I thought the same thing when I read the news earlier today. The news story is not linked to any PR page. I found that very strange, so I decided to check the rss feed. The rss feed doesn't have the announcement on it. It does seem odd that the hot news page is changed but the rss feed is not changed to reflect this. Now, it could be a simple human error, but it does strike me as strange that they are using a web app that doesn't do it automatically. Also, not having a PR page is also odd. I don't think news like this would be done without a better PR spin.

Despite your laziness, I read your entire post. "Mexico" and "Mexican" were capitalized all but once. "America" and "American" (each used several times) were never capitalized, even once. Looks like the Mexican school system has a long way to go.
Mexico and America should be capitalized in spanish, but not words like Mexican (mexicano) or American (americano). In other words, he might be writing in English using his Spanish part of the brain :) or he's just lazy and forgot to press shift once in a while. I do that sometimes too. Also, language names like English and Spanish are not capitalized in Spanish either.

This all comes down to being a stakes game. Are the rewards worth the consequences? I honestly feel examples are going to have to be made with *severe* penalties. I recently heard on National Public Radio http://www.npr.org/ one county was raising the fine for littering from $1,000 to $10,000! It may seem ludicrous, but I bet you one thing -- Mr Trucker is going to think twice about throwing that cigarette butt out the window. Same holds true for Piracy... make the penalties so severe that nobody in their right mind will want to partake.

You are wrong. I've seen that raising fines or penalties doesn't lower the crimes. What lower the crimes is when you know that you are going to be caught regardless. If you know there is a big posibility of nothing happening to you, then you will do anything that is ilegal. If every crime is being punished and nobody is learning not to do it, then you can raise the fine/penalty.

WINE is not an emulator. The wine team is trying to implement the windows api in another system. It works well for several games but it is horrible for others. The biggest problem is with directx.

As for your original question, I would recommend using any light weight window manager. openbox, blackbox, etc. You could move from gnome or kde to one of these when you are going to play a game. Also, I recomend you to buy an nvidia card. The ati drivers suck badly. I play 3 games on my machine (when running linux) Doom 3, UT 2004, and Enemy territory.

I forgot to tell you, that you might want to check this links:
    Wine Application DB"
    Frank's Corner
To see how to install several windows games in linux.
