There's not such thing as anonymity in Wikipedia. Even if you don't sign in, you IP and timestamp are posted. If it was just a question of publishing anonymously (i.e. not using you usual account), that would simply meen that the guy has to make a new account (an alias of sorts) and that's it.

From what I've read companies already do this, using P2P to track whats hot and whats not. The thing is that record labes/movie studios keep the fact that they buy this information very hush hush otherwise it would legitimize P2P and actually prove that it profits them in some way. It's actually a good deal. You get marketing + tracking for free and I get the music. Just need to make a payment method based on the marketing and things could be nice.

And that's, from what I read, something that happened during Windows Vista developpment cycle. The developpers where pushing for a rewrite because with all the legacy Windows NT was getting close to impossible to add stuff and get it to compile the whole thing. So despite opposition from Bill Gates Vista is supposed to have many things rewritten from scratch (1/4 from what I've heard). I guess a complete rewrite would take many years just to take it to the level of Windows XP so they won't be doing that anytime soon. No wonder so many features scheduled for Vista where thrown out.

I think it would be more accurate to say that one of the browsers simply didn't have a boss, or a dedicated developpment team for that matter for several years. After IE 6.0, the team was dissolved, they won the browser war, went to sleep. When they woke up FF was going strong and eating their porigde. So IE got a team back to work on if. They have some big catch-up to do.

Personally, unless I need to go very formal (going to clients in which case I put a fine suit), I like to wear a nice shirt with stylish jeans. I tend to think it represents my attitude best: creative and proffessional. Plus its confortable, looks good and most important of all: I like it.

I don't know about the global impacts be after living 18 years in the Carabians I know one thing for sure: huracanes are both a disaster and a blessing. Without them the island would be just dried up pieces of dirt in the middle of the sea (well mostly). No water means no proper farming, therefore no food. No water also means less energy (from hydrolic). The dams there actually depend on huracanes bringing water aplenty once in a while to fill them up. Stiring the center of the storm away from cities should save many lives but eliminating them would cause a catastrophy beyond any storm. Anyway, any of those options are still far from our hands.

I use POPTray with a plug-in. When I have email waiting it blinks the Scroll-lock LED (thus giving it a use for once). It's pretty useful when the screen is off and I'm not in font of the PC and just look at the keyboard to see if mail is there. Unlike a sound to indicate I have mail, this light keeps blinking so if I'm not there when the email gets there, I'll see it next time a take a quick look.

France is mobilizing aid by the way of the Martinique island. I bet nobody ever expected help to go from the Carabians to USA instead of the other way around (more common). But unexpected events require the help of all those who can. Here in Switzerland we would usually give a hand but we've had unprecedented floods to take care of so hands are tied. The capital was hit pretty hard. Not much compared to the US but for such a small country it's a hard blow. I hope I'm not the only one worrying about the weather getting weirder every year. A record here, a record there. Every season sets a new record somehow. Hotest, coldest, driest, wetest, windiest. You name it. It September and here I have summer temperatures. In August-July? Colder then usual temperatures. Seasons are a thing of the past. I'm sure winter is going to be some mad mixture again.

Ah you think this doesn't exist? Try coming to Switzerland with a fake Rolex. If the border police catch you with it they'll make you pay 3 times the price of the real thing. Same goes with fake designer bags and clothing but obviously the pressure is more on fake watches. Besides a fake Rolex is much easier to spot then a fake Nike t-shirt. The problem with the "fake" t-shirt is that they are often done by the same factory that does the real ones. They just skip paying royalities to the brand and sell it to the local grey market.
