But I was able to see a couple of pages before it went down. Did anyone notice the links to other stories at the bottom? I'm pretty interested in seeing which are the top 10 games to play while stoned.
I imagine most people would resort to going online for an image of genitals. I'd be willing to be a lot of users would have the first image that google returns as a search for: genitals, penis, vagina, etc
Am I the only one who doesn't really see this as a problem? I've never been in the situation where I'm watching something on youtube, and am suddenly interrupted by a stream of moronic comments. Frankly, I treat youtube as a novelty. An enormous narcissistic portrait of (primarily) white, middle class people. It's fun to watch, but if you're using it for any serious data, you're crazy.
This is an interesting idea, although part of me really cringes at the notion that we're implementing a device that's designed to IMPEDE communication on a site whose stated goal is: "Broadcast Yourself"
It will be interesting to follow usage patterns, but what I most fear is that this becomes a norm, and sites like slashdot receive less feedback due to the sheer amount of time required to listen to each commenter's post.
odd, I remembered having the Milkmen album with that song, but I know I've never heard Death Rides a Pale Cow (1984). Turns out Stuart is also on Beelzebubba (1988).
Also, being familiar with the song, I find it impossible to read the text form without the voice inflection.
or in movie banking fraud talk, microsoft has figured out how to accrue and aggregate all those fractions of a penny that usually get rounded off. Oh, like Superman 3? (and by extension Office Space)
The line in the summary, "Whale and dolphin fetuses also show signs of hind protrusions but these generally disappear before birth.", isn't present in the article.
Also from the article:
[...Japanese researchers said Sunday that a bottlenose dolphin captured last month has an extra set of fins that could be the remains of back legs, a discovery that may provide further evidence that ocean-dwelling mammals once lived on land....]
How exactly could this be evidence of back legs? The article is pretty light on details. It seems more likely that an extra set of fins would be moving dolphin evolution forward. e.g., having a extra set of fins may allow the dolphin to swim faster, navigate better, etc. The article doesn't mention if the dolphin can use (move) the fins.
"Certainly, Apple sees an opportunity with Intel. But IBM continues the same chip development that allowed Apple to claim several firsts and fastests."
How much of IBM's innovative chip design was pushed forward by Apple? I'm honestly not that familiar with the design/manufacture process but certainly IBM and Apple were working together on new designs for at least Apple hardware.
With Apple and Intel working together now we're sure to (eventually) see some products that Intel wouldn't have developed on their own.
Except in the article you don't build the lcd, and the housing is optional.
However I must admit that I'm more inclined to do this than the version where you tear the lcd apart. I talked to our hardware guy at work and asked him if he'd feel comfortable disassembling and lcd for a project like this. His response was something like, "as long as it wasn't mine."
From the article,
The people at Microsoft noticed something that I had seen, only peripherally--that there were applications of RSS that aren't about news.
Like podcasting?
Also, who thinks Microsoft's extension of RSS may be the attempted return of push technology?
I was at American University (D.C.) this summer. They haven't banned BT but I did get a friendly call from the network admin after I left several torrents running overnight.
I have an Edirol UM-1S. It was ~45 at the music store. I bought it for two reasons. 1. It was readily available at the music store. 2. The Edirol website offers panther drivers. Also keep in mind if you buy from a local music store, they'll usually cut you a deal. I got a midi cable with my converter and the guy gave me the cable for about 80% off.
How is this bad for choice? Yes there is only one music player that can play Apple's Music Store files, but everyone has the CHOICE not to buy from the Apple Music Store. There are many music players that support the WMA format, most at a lower price point.
Actually Fink, Gentoo and Darwinports have combined
forces. If anyone has run a beta release of 10.3, they've seen a very
early build of the app that these groups have produced. Think finkcommander
done with apple elegance.
Sign me up for two of these. In fact, sign me up for one that runs like Ender's desk.

So why not just report the sites to Symantec?
The Sega Genesis version was pretty fun.
You had your choice of three ghostbusters and each had different abilities. Also, near the end you fought the marshmallow man.
That internet hate machine article has certainly changed the face of slashdot.
ah, if only there were a "classic" tag.
(though in most cases, classic is synonymous with troll)
I read that as: "The download size will become smaller, but the content per mb will be higher."
Which may or may not be what it means at all.
Right now I'm living in Ambler, AK. (check it on google maps if you'd like) The people here speak inupaq, and refer to themselves as eskimos.

is the luggable.

How long before we get the first micro pop up ad?
