I just looked at their site and can't see anything about downloading movies. It seems to require a cable subscription and implies that the movies are sent over cable, the way regular TV is. Am I missing something?

At the other end of the scale, after using a pirated copy of XP for several years, I finally bought a legal copy. Full version (not upgrade) of XP Pro for NZ$272 (US$179). How much you pay depends on where you look.
I remember when I was a little (over 10 years ago), I saw a cartoon with Ewoks. I can hardly remember any of it, except that there was an evil witch or wizard or something with a staff, which had some sort of magic ball on the top of it. Also, I think this ball could shoot out lightning or something. Is this one of these movies? And if not, does anyone know what I'm talking about?
I always thought that.net.nz was just Firefox being clever and detecting my country. Now it appears not. And since we're all saying where we're from, Whakatane, NZ.:)
Yes. A lot of people have installed the Mac OS 10.4 beta onto their iPod to avoid having to partition their HD. That way, they can boot whichever OS they like by holding Option while turning on their computer (Option displays a list of bootable devices and lets you select one).
I'm amazed with some of the stuff people come up with. Not very practical of course, but I spend half my time doing stupid stuff - I spent most of today playing Super Mario 64!
I also have difficulty believing the status of HL2. Last I heard, which was a couple of months ago, HL2 was officially 'dead in the water' because they couldn't find a publisher for it. Are they self-publishing now or something? Presumably Steam would facilitate this.
I'm sure you could adapt it to use as a bracelet if you really wanted to.
Now, I'm sure nobody cares, but I'm bored so I'll start ranting anyway. I picked up one of those 'metal ball' bracelets a year ago, a cheap $3 one. I thought it might break easily, being so cheap, but I was surprised with how well it lasted. I wore it 24/7 (wore it to bed, wore it in the shower) and didn't have any problems whatsoever.
Skip forward a few months, and it still looked good as new. Then I went swimming in the sea. I was in the water for about half an hour, and after coming back out the bracelet still looked fine. However, the next morning, I discovered that cheap bracelet + salt water + left overnight = rust. And I don't mean a little bit of rust, this thing was rusted solid! It was amazing - I couldn't even undo it to get it off, and I had to use wire cutters.
On the other hand, I had (and still have) a similar necklace, but it was a much more expensive ($25) one. It's been in the sea several times and still looks and acts brand new (it gets water on it every day from the shower, I've never ever taken it off).
I guess my point is that if you are going to make a bracelet, don't be cheap:)
50 points for anyone who actually read all of this!
They're advertising the unmodified belt, of course!
On a side note, that's the first time I've ever seen that style of belt with no logo or brand name on the front. There doesn't seem to be anything on the belt itself either.
Based on the size of it, with the way it's attached, it's probably ridiculously difficult to take it off too. I certainly don't want to semi-permanently wear search terms!
You can buy Word separately, but it's expensive. Here in NZ, Word 2004 is NZ$570, and Office (standard edition) is $725. I guess most people pay the extra $155 to get the entire suite.
I'm in New Zealand and tried what you're suggesting, and it failed to send.
Hold on, you 'first posted' an article about DIY without mentioning duct tape!? And you call yourself a geek...

StuffIt Expander is free.
the G in GNU really stands for "Google's New Unix"
So what do the N and the U stand for?
It's just as bad that they're being taught American English :P

Warning: Slashcode has gone and put spaces into that code :(
Because MS can't possibly acknowledge that someone else has already come up with the idea.
Still works on my 2003 Power Mac G4.
Ah OK, I think I've only seen one episode, which explains why I thought it was a movie.

Wow, my grammar was terrible! Next time, I should read what I've just written before clicking Submit :(
What I read may not have entire (or at all) accurate. I'm just saying what I'd heard. But please read my other post (Re:Haha, mod parent up +5 Funny!)
Apparently Valve wanted something like 10 times as much money than the intended publisher (Sierra?) was willing to pay for it.

The 'proper' word for 'first annual' is 'inaugural.' I don't know whether it guarantees a second one like 'first annual' does though.
but im still waiting for a pda without screen, that uses my glasses as a screen.. but thats more of scifi than reality.
Making glasses into a screen is the easy part. The hard part is making them look like ordinary glasses, rather than a big sign proclaiming 'GEEK!'
