Too many immigrants at once from the same source and you end up with "balkanization". Too little, and you become a nation of isolationists.

Right now, we are facing the same balkanization issues that France is enduring. There are parts of Texas and California that we've lost already from an ethnic standpoint. Hell, I doubt anyone still speaks much English there too. If left unchecked, we may see communities of our southern states ced land back to Mexico in about 30 years from now if not sooner. By limiting the amount of immigration however, you allow enough time for them to assimilate into the greater
American culture of ideas and philosophies.

You know. Wars have often been fought over land because immigration has been left unchecked and America is reaching a dangerous threshold with illegal immigration. Something to think about...

Media manipulation is a global phenomenon. Just about every country has their own agenda with it. For example in China, the media is controlled to protect the CCP and maintain control of the populous through mis-information. In the USA however, the media is all about the cultural "shock value". The more shock, the higher your ratings become for profit.

If anyone thinks there is a shred of honor left in any of the media conglomerates would be sorely mistaken. It's about bending, shaping, and molding the premise which to base the news on to achieve the predefined objective.

If you ever been to a modern city in China (Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing, Chengdu..etc), you will find everyone is living a capitalist lifestyle. If someone isn't getting into your face to sell you something, they are at least buying goods for themselves at supermarkets such as Carrefour and Wal-Mart. Even Bestbuy stores are starting to show up. And oh ya, they actually watch movies in the theaters. The behavior is not much different from that of Americans and Europeans.

As for the Chinese people themselves? They're like you and I. They want to live their lives and not be messed with. In fact, most of them don't have any political or ideological preferences. They just know the quality of life has been improving over the years and want it to continue. Obviously political freedom and capitalistic expansion is the answer. However, most haven't figured out why these fundamentals work. They know they do, and just accept it "as-is" for now.

When you first power on the Cable Modem, it will seek out the first MAC address it sees and *never* lets go of it in memory. The only way to clear the MAC from cache is to unplug the CAT5 cable and physically kill power to the modem (reset).

Again, the ethernet side of the cable modem is NOT hot-swappable. The only way to hot-swap is to ensure all devices are cloned with the same MAC address. A simple solution would be to use a router and hot-swap from it.

We're not talking about a non-profit religion. We are talking about JOBS. When you remove the incentive to work hard, people often cut back on the quality of their services or jump ship to another career all together.
