  1. Re:Jump a head to the end goal on South Korea To Develop Army and Police Robots · · Score: 1

No they will be built to take out the enemy's robot production facilities. Heavy casualties will only make the target country more aggressive, and cause allies and neutral companies to rethink their position. While not appreciatively decreasing their combat readiness. That is of course assuming that the enemy doesn't just roll over and surrender when attacked.

An interesting thing that I saw recently was a computer program which could take a picture and give you what that picture would look like if it was taken from the angle of any light shining on it. I saw it on a video that I no longer have, but they took picture of a playing card with its back to the camera, and its front to a page from a book. They then pointed a light at the front of the card, and sampled all the reflected light from the page to show what card it was.

I wish I could find the video, but cursory google searches only turn up directx demos for game programming.

Although if we can't get social security under control we could be heading the same place. The problem with things like social security, and welfare is that they remove incentive to work. If you work you make less money due to taxes while if you don't work you get "free" money. Private accounts would put incentive back because the amount of money you put in to the system guarantees the amount of money you get from the system. Right now congress controls the amount you get from SS, and they can raise or lower rates in order to panic people who depend on SS for their retirement.
