    How he is an independent consultant BUT cant work for those others is another issue....

    I dont get the tourist use. Between those that are lost and not speeding up the intial entry i dont see the benefit vs cost. It lets visitors get thru the exit line quicker?!? Someone sees one of these docs on a dashboard steals it puts it on their dashboard and ?

    If the gov't really had an evil purpose for this wouldn't they just intercept all the mail to EFF and get records from all of us?

    Oh, and where is the privacy policy for these test sheets with my printer code on em and the ID code from my mailing machine i am sending to EFF ;)

    If these dots are only used for currency forgeries and current printers dont print currency anyway then what are they used for. goto If...

    hehe, just a few random thoughts

    Just have printers/copiers not print currency in realistic sizes and be done with it. Could even have an override that prints a visible id.

    The comments would have been a lot less inane if everyone realized it refers to COLOR prints. To the ones that said fax: Anyone with access to 2 color faxes is probably easier to find than a specific printer id ;)

    BTW, it appears our HP 4550 doesn't add these dots to black and white images only actual color prints. (it doesn't even cycle to the color cartidges if only b&w)

    hehe, that seems to be the story basis lately. I swear 3/4 of this stuff is in the paper same/next day. Maybe we have a better paper for this than most?

    i figure the editor is sitting here watching us right now trying to squeeze out a couple more column inches.... :)

    On another angle.
    Can't the same screen be created in about any MMORPG?
    I know some clan mates were getting pretty 'creative' at one point.
    Therefore, shouldn't it be rated M with the disclaimer that it may change with gameplay.... ;)

    Same here. Had all source code and you could change it as needed but that was all. In fact, the same accounting system we used was still available under same terms in a PC port as of a couple years ago, haven't looked since.

    Should have went with it. Our current one is too proprietary and overpriced with a sucky UI.

    Anyways, this sounds cool for doctors. Maybe i should mention it to a few (hundred) hehe. We are a medical supply house :)

    If they had been using that one provider they would have ONLY missed about 8008 calls.......

    I cant recall any of the POTS lines at work not working in years. Even AFTER the fact that i am using a self-managed 1980's PBX analog PBX system. I don't recall a failure in either ever here :)

    What do i call our last 2 lines? Phone co hooked em up to a T1 instead of POTS. VOIP on steroids or something? Never said anything to us about VOIP. Terribly curious as to 911 now tho.

    Doesn't seem that you get much info from 2 fingers without reading the prints........

    Sounds like a system using fingerprints that stores one less data point than the police with a pretty name attached.

    hehe, yup don't sweat the hours when some are still on minutes :(

    The boss's laptop is the same. 17" widescreen p4 laptop. Well it would only be a laptop the first time and again when you get a new lap after the skin grafts!

    But it handles Fs 2004 well even without a super video card. And it IS drop-dead gorgeous. Thats what counts after all ;)

    I dont think so.

    Go enable PRO style features by changing the file on much of the software where you paid for the standard version. Tell the publisher what you did and see if disabled vs not included makes a diference. 10-1 says you get treated as if you 'stole' a PRO version of the software ;) Lots of programs now come in multiple versions depending on what you paid...not what is in the program data.

    Anyways, it's rated M correctly. You can't count mods no matter how trival to implement. Many games would be trival to replace a couple things and get the x-rated version ;)
    The mod, if rated, would be AO.
    The description i saw of the mod makes it clear what it is even without a pretty little logo to say it 'offically'

    Not like one could accidently be exposed to the AO content!

    If a kid could download the mod then we all know where else he could be going on the internet....

    Heck, I'm 40 and had to look it up.
    There weren't alot of people with a need to know networking way back when.

    That and the fact we were on a Wang computer system.

    Another of those indestructable monsters of old :)

    Still plays pacman just fine, even if it does drain the powerlines for a block ;p

    Someone changed the hands of the clock, thats not gonna make the trains arrive early. Case dismissed.

    Would not one assume the 'higher inteligence' that set the clock would know if was tampered with and fix it if needed. Or would he see the clock and think he forgot to change the destiny of a zillion ppl affected by new setting?!? Surely there would then have to be the equilavant of conductors/engineers/passengers with their own clocks.

    hehe i love the arguments of new planets/moon being discovered too. Thats for the return business, have get the patches for your horoscope ya know.

    Not bad. Looks as good as the menuing programs i tried.

    I can do most of that with the tools i have. Still torn on a menu like this or a simple batch file referencing more batch files.

    And for the guy below....file manager i am using still wants $39 to remove the nag screen, hehe!

    Buy a drive or even a computer to use, it is very cheap unless you get carried away like i did ;)

    I still have my 386 for this. I have floppy drives but the HD was noisy so i replaced it with 2 540MB drives(max the MB/DOS supports). I've been loading ALL my old games on it and i'll even add the other old programs (like Word Perfect) when i'm done. Working on a few menus to get to the best of em easily. Then a backup to the other HD, should have room for 3 copies of everything :)

    Finally decided my uber-tweaked 386 (619k free!) needed a use and not waste years of configuring.

    Ended up with over 90MB of games from my floppies including 120+ 360k ones.

    Yup, Wing commander was one of em.

    Kinda cool stuff to show the younger folks.
    I have computers from the 70's 80's and 90's in my den for game demos etc.

    hmm, i'll have to try The Launch.

    No sub here either. The rear channels on my 4.0 dolby (ok, i doubt much of my 4.0 stuff is in dolby but just in case i have a (quite rare) 4.0 original dolby box) have 6-way speakers with a 15" woofer. I can't imagine a use for more bass unless i want to reply to that car thumping down the street. Nor do i need anymore directions, although the center channel on new stuff is good for dialogue that can get overpowered by other stuff.

    Running same wattage too but 40 x 4 watts is plenty. My old system blows away a friends 500w+ stereo. Wish i knew why new stuff has more watts but less sound tho :(

    Anyways, rock on with how ever many channels it takes :)

    hehe, that sounds about right.

    We process medicaid for the state of Oregon.
    We have to write the data (less than 1k of names/numbers) over a PDF file of the form. It then saves both! Only uses 1500000 bytes of disk space for 500bytes of data :(

    Used more space than the other 3 states and all private pay people and companies plus Medicare combined. Sometimes the criteria seem to have zero to do with end result :/
