You, my friend, are absolutely WRONG!! ;)

The emotion engine was not hype at all, it was used to full effect in Gran Turismo 3 ;)

Every AI opponent you faced had their whole life simulated before the race. Their upbringing, how they got into racing, what happened to them in previous races, etc was generated randomly and the racer would react according to this.

For example, one racer may be brought up in a poor family, only racing to make enough money to put food on the table. Once, he almost won a 50000cr race, but spun out on turn 11 of Laguna Seca, and got injured for 5 years. Now, in the race you're competing against him in, there is a turn that resembles the turn in Laguna Seca that caused his tragic injury. But he also needs this money or his parents won't be able to afford the medical care they need. Should he risk it all at the turn, or just let you pass? So many conflicting emotions!

So he just drives in a predetermined pattern completely ignoring the position of his opponents, like the AI in Pole Position.

Well, look out for more legitimate sites, too. I recall that Newgrounds allowed advertisers to sell their slots to other advertisers, which led NG "unable" to control the kind of stuff in their ads (including possible spyware). "Unable" as in they didn't want to threaten their sponsors by not allowing this sort of behaviour; they needed the money back then and now they're starting to clean up their ads to support growth of the site.

Lots of other sites happen to contain ads with similar stories, which is why one will likely have Spyware on their computer even if they don't download anything suspicious. Any browser, of course, has it's own unique loopholes that let spyware in, and each browser has a team that's out to fix those problems up. Firefox seems more reactive compared to IE, ironic since Microsoft is the one with all the money.

Even out of the box, FireFox is marginally better than IE, though. It is nearly impossible to argue that IE is actually better than Firefox, 'cept perhaps two points:
    1. Some sites that I've never been to don't support FF fully (The so-called /. bug doesn't affect much)
    2. IE comes with Windows, but Gates wouldn't want to admit that that is the reason IE is "better", would he?
Meanwhile, FF renders pages faster (it seems faster to me, anyway), doesn't accumulate Spyware as quickly (and the Open Source community reacts as fast to it as IE ever will), has tabbed browsing, more inuitive text searches (by this I mean ctrl+f), a less cluttered toolbar, uses a capable search engine by deault*, is less likely to lose time-consuming information**, and all this on top of the ability to quickly add themes and plug-ins (Forecast Fox and Tabbrowser Preferences are some of the better ones).

Gates is following Hitler's rule; people are more likely to believe a big lie (IE is better than Firefox) than a small one (IE is comparable to Firefox). Hell, they're both big lies if you ask me.

*Don't believe me? Try typing "video games" into the address bar of both browsers; Firefox does a Google I'm Feeling Lucky and brings up Gamespot. IE uses MSN search and, after 10 lines of sponsers and news, brings up the Cincinatti tourism page as a first choice. I wish I was making this shit up.

** Example: Sometimes my mom will be typing up an email for a few minutes and accidentally click on some link and leave the page. In IE, this oftentimes loses the information forever. In Firefox, click "Back" and it's almost always still there. Your mileage may vary...

Gordon: Penguin, Joker, Riddler... and Catwoman, too! The sum of the angles of that rectangle is too monstrous to contemplate!
Batman: We've been given the plainest warning! They're working together to take over...
O'Hara: To take over what, Batman? Gotham City?
Batman: Any two of them might try that!
    Gordon: The whole... country?
Batman: If it were three of them, I would say yes, but four? Their minimum objective must be... the entire... world.

Note how angles apparantly vary from rectangle to rectangle, and the startling synergy achieved when all 4 supervillians team up as opposed to 2 or 3. Oh, and if you're curious about the "plainest warning" that the supervillians sent to Batman, go look up the full quote!

Now, I've heard elsewhere that Linux can be fairly user-friendly, so that's not the problem AFAIK. The point is people know "Windows" and it gets bundled with their computers, so they take it.

Then if Joe Sixpack tries Linux and likes it more, and it spreads, then more apps and games will support it, which will get even more people to use it etc, etc. Of course, that hasn't happened.

Here's an example: I have ForecastFox (entension) and Pinball (theme). Say the author of Forecast Fox made an update to his extension, and the author of Pinball made an update to his theme, and Mozilla Foundation made an update to their Firefox. I'm not made aware of small updates to extensions until Firefox needs a critical update (and with good reason, I don't care about small updates). But now that I've seen that the extensions have gone a while without updating, I wnat to update those too. Now I have to update Firefox, THEN the extension, THEN the theme. I dunno if it's still like this though.
