  1. Re:Shamen + Elves = Dead Aliance on World of Warcraft Expansion News · · Score: 1

No, Tauren definately would be better suited to be with the Human Alliance. Since the Humans are known as the most tolerant of all the races of Azeroth. Sure the Orcs saved them from the vicious centaurs, but the Orcs wouldn't be there in the first place if it wasn't for the Humans. /sarcasm

I'm calling B.S. on this expansion news. The Blood Elves are firmly allied with the Naga and Draeni, lead by Illadin. They would not betray Illadin after he saved them, and the Draeni would not be very kind to those who ally themselves with Orcs. Raising the level cap would majorly unbalance the talent point builds. The game world is not detailed enough to allow flying yet. If you have ever climbed to the top of the hills surrounding a zone, it is just a flat featureless void that instantly turns into the next zone. It looks fine from the ground but very ugly when you get up there.

By the way. You wouldn't be the same Corinthian from the Emerald Dream server, would you?

And if this is true, then what about your movies, Mr. Terminator? Completely innocent? Sure, they can't see them in the theaters, but kids can buy or rent them whenever they like.
Are you saying that there should also be strick age limitations on buying and renting violent movies too?

Video games are only being scapegoated, because of that Columbine deal a few years ago. After the nerds and social outcasts had been victim of thousands of "minor" acts of violence and harrasment, they do something to get even and the only possible reason for it is video games. The blame should be on the parents, not the parents of the child who went on the rampage, but the parents of the bullies that drove them to it.

You have to remember that these are just people's opinions. Not everybody is going to agree. In my opinion, it is a good thing to hear the perspectives of multiple points of view. Read two articles that say the opposite thing and then choose for yourself who is right(or if both are wrong). Slashdot does not bring us absolute truths, but it brings us a the power to judge for ourselves.

I, and the people I was with, thought Serenity stood well on its own. Going in, I didn't know who the characters were, but on the way out I felt very attached to them. I never felt lost. I assume there were probably some jokes that I didn't get, because I didn't watch Firefly, but the movie was exciting and funny enough on its own.

And where the heck is Tekken (Sony's answer to the immensely popular Virtua Fighter 2)? Tekken 2 was particularily noteworthy for being _better_ then the arcade (still a big deal at the time).

I don't see what big deal over the Tekken series is. Tekken has to be the slowest, most unresponsive fighter out there. Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat were better, came out earlier, and had great console ports.

I am not impressed with this. It's just a pretty puppet and not big leap forward in robotics. We should be working on getting it all to function right before giving it a human skin. I would much rather the metal bones of a Terminator robot walking/running around fluidly come before we start going all out on the appearance.

Total Annihilation had the best multiplayer system of any RTS game. The Boneyards. You had a galactic map with the Arm and Core controlling half of the systems. Player registered as either Arm and Core and they fought it out on the contested worlds. At the end of the day, whichever side had the most wins would get control of the planet. This would go on until one side controlled the entire map and then there would be a new map. This system really gave me a feeling of accomplishment when I contributed in winning the war for my side. I wonder how this new game will be different from the Boneyards. I would be happy if another RTS used this system for multiplayer.

I had the same idea, except after I had already returned the item. It was when Sim City 4 first came out. I bought it, but didn't like, so I decided to return it. I went back to Circuit City, but they only let you exchange open software for the same item. I didn't know what to do. I didn't want to be stuck with Sim City 4, then I had the great idea to just tape the box shut the way it was when I bought it. The next day I went back to Circuit City told them I wanted to return the game, and they gave me my cash back with no questions asked. After that I thought that I should of just kept the CDs, so what if I didn't like it, you can't beat a free game.
