What scares me is that there are actually people falling for spam nowadays. All the spam I get is full of spelling errors, numbers instead of letters and obviously false promises. Yet there are clearly millions of idiots who check there email and say "Wow! I have been paying too much for Viagra! Brilliant!"
I understand that a lot of people aren't particularly computer-savvy, but if someone came up to you on the street and tried to sell you a dozen spy cameras you wouldn't think twice before saying no.
The lack of emphasis on physical fitness in corporate society is a travesty
You're shitting me, right? Why the hell should physical fitness be emphasised in corporate society? People shouldn't be told off for being unfit - that's not going to make them keen on coming to work. People should be hired and appreciated on what they bring to the company, not how long it takes them to run a mile.
Compared to MP3 players, the sound quality is vastly better I encode my music using LAME and the "- V 1 -vbr-new" strings - I very much doubt you could tell the difference between that and CDs.
Just because you don't know how to make high-quality mp3s, that doesn't mean noone knows.
I don't think the feeling is that Nintendo can do no wrong - more that they really haven't. Bar the whole Tetris thing (which is decades old now) they are an honest company with an emphasis on new ideas rather than just cranking up the performance of their consoles, which makes them pretty unique.
Laughing and cheering with a bunch of people in a theater has always made any more more enjoyable. Some of the star wars haters will always complain, but the feeling of the audience whooping and hollering when Yoda uses the force to whip out his lightsabre and get into a fighting stance... it's priceless emotion.
Serisously?!?! You actually like people cheering in films? I have to count to 10 to avoid turning around and dumping my popcorn on them. It's like people who laugh REALLY REALLY LOUDLY at everything just so you know they got the joke.
The people who are pro lengthening the gap say this is because seeing a film in the cinema is a better experience and so DVDs should come out later.
Surely the fact that DVDs are stopping people going to the cinema is living proof that this is totally incorrect?! If the cinema was truly a better experience, then they would have nothing to worry about.
If you where a developer, would you invest in a platform like this? I can't remember the exact numbers, but I remember reading that a developer's kit will be far far cheaper for the Revolution than for the 360/PS3. If that leads to more crazy indie games, then I'm all for it.
Whenever I boot up the PS2 with friends I always show them this bizarre game I got for £3 called Gitarro Man about a boy with a talking dog who has a guitar that shoots lightning at aliens while playing crazy japanese rock. Everyone loves it and it usually delays putting in Timesplitters for some time. And it sure as hell wasn't developed by EA.
Hmm... I'm not sure I'd entirely agree with you that Nintendo don't like risks. I mean look at the initial reaction to the DS, or the Revolution's controller, or the cartoon look of Wind Waker. I think they are willing to take risks if they've put a lot of time into thinking about it and can justify it. Clearly in at least two of these examples, they made the right choice.
I think it's more to do with the fact that this risk is an exceptionally big one financially speaking. Sony and MS can afford to take the hit and lose billions if it all goes tits-up. Nintendo would be in more trouble.
Unfortunately for them, that's probably what will happen... I can't comprehend what could possibly make someone turn down that amount of money... What can't you do with hundreds of millions of dollars?!

You don't get to make a backup of books, art, or other physical media that is non-electronic... Only because it's impractical to do so. I hardly think you would be arrested for copying out a part of a book by hand, yet you seem to think it's ok to design measures to stop people doing this for CDs/DVDs. Why is that?
Interestingly though, these are a few of the phrases it was in:
Although Dell performed well in most tests, Alienware easily beat all the...
Alienware's system was also configured over $1000 less than the Dell.
Alienware Surpasses Dell, Gateway and HP...
Alienware receives a higher overall score than any other Windows desktop manufacturer, including much larger players such as Dell, Gateway, HP,...
Seems to me to be a lot like saying "Sure, this whole world peace thing is great... but arms businesses are going out of business!"
This, for once, isn't Microsoft using their power to muscle people out of a business. Anti-spyware companies exist to patch a hole in Microsoft's products. Of course Microsoft want to solve this problem. And if they do, fair play to them.
There's a lot of interest, but unfortunately there's not many ways of learning about the brain. We can't learn that much by studying dead people and if you ask the average person to stick an electrode in their brain in the name of science, I can't help but think they'd decline the generous offer.
Of course it is relevant information. If a murderer/conman/insurance scammer/etc asked all of the world's media to only refer to him by a codename he randomly made up, no-one would listen to him.
Not the fault of the virus author?! Sure, they should have done more to stop this happening but the effects of a virus are ALWAYS the fault of the author.
Remind me to stab you in the face if we ever meet - don't worry, it'll be your fault for not wearing a crash helmet.
Oh please. I've been on 4-lane roads (that's 4 lanes on each side) in the US with a speed limit of 45!!! The speed limit on a windy, single-lane-each-way road near my house is 60 (and yes, that is miles an hour).
I understand that a lot of people aren't particularly computer-savvy, but if someone came up to you on the street and tried to sell you a dozen spy cameras you wouldn't think twice before saying no.

If by "funny" you mean "impossible to navigate due to random icons and no labels", then yes, I agree.
Woah, woah, woah... You live in the UK and you aren't sure about whether we're allowed to carry guns?!?!?!
Wow, way to be the stereotypical yank. Believe it or not, another reason to go to university is academia, not so you can make a pile of cash.

Loosen up, would you?

Exactly. Steve Jobs doesn't really exist!
Why should a hacker get this luxury?
Oxidation is the loss of electrons or the increase of oxidation state. It does not necessarily involve oxygen at all (though of course it may do).
