sony never had 1st party mascots,
in the past sony's done second-party stuff as it's mascot, naughty dog's pretty much gotten the public mascot title, though insomniac got something too, and more recently, suckerpunch.
i mean, you ALWAYS saw crash bandicoot together w/ PS1 and jak together w/ PS2, though that's just a northa american mascot...
also, NOT just MGS4 and FFXIII,
there's DEVIL MAY CRY 4 (capcom's being a dick and not showing any trailers though)
Gran tourismo 5 (hopefully will reclaim it's title of the best, if not, will at least be completely kick-ass)
resident evil 5, it's looking like it will at least come out much earlier on PS3, and appear to be a PS3 exclusive (much like RE4 and gamecube)
warhawk could be pretty awesome, though personally I'd rather just see an ace combat.
there's the fact that it's sports games will be better than on 360
i'm forgetting something... oh well.

I don't get this whole "cool" factor crap.
I got my iPod because I personally love the iPods and iTunes interface and functionality. it has everything I need and want, and does it smoother than anything else I've seen.
(I know other MP3 players have stuff that iPods don't, but for me personally, an iPod was the best choice)
same with all of my friends who have one.
I chose the iPod because it was the best choice FOR ME.
I also hate getting things that are extremely popular. (sometimes I don't want to watch certain anime because of fanboy associations)
though, if an anime was really good, if an MP3 player was really good, I'll still watch/get it.
I'm not going to use something that's worse (for me) just because the iPod's popular.
If I had a nickel for every time I see a prediction on slashdot that turns out to be nothing that people haven't been saying for over a year, I'd have the $600 necessary to buy the PS3!
actually, after thinking about it a little... with zelda on wii at release, wii might be the first console to ever have a must-own title at launch. though it's also for gamecube.
also, the number of GOOD announced PS3 titles already far surpasses 360s. and it's not coming out for ~half a year. and 360's been out for ~half a year. that's comedy gold.

a while back, when OSX.2 had recently came out, and I was still running on an iMac G3 (with 256mb of RAM), I got OSX.
it ran much smoother than OS9 did.
