While they're at it, they could even put the capacity in real GB rather than '1GB=1 000 000 000B' so you don't mysteriously lose 2GB when you plug your '30GB' iPod into your computer.
free restricted music is better than no music at all...
Yes, that is true. But the question isn't whether free, restricted music is better than no music, the question is whether free, restricted music is better than free, illegal music that is readily available through BitTorrent and other P2P systems.
I wouldn't dismiss the idea of people using this on the train so quickly. This may not be used by business people in suits on their way to/from the office as much, but for school students/university students, it would be an interesting feature. Since these people are a huge part of the market for mp3 players, it can't be disregarded.
Today on the train my friend was using bluetooth on his phone to see who he could send a picture to. It kept us amused for a while trying to guess who was "G-Unit" in the carriage.
There probably isn't as much room for abuse of this system as many people think and has been previously mentioned. It is most likely that clicking the button won't send the email address of the "predator", rather it will take the victim to a police website/form which would require a full name, phone number, etc, which would then be used to verify the report in person before any actual investigation is launched.
This is really just so Microsoft can say to worried parents that their service is safer than others, "no pedos here, not like YIM, et all."
I know the feeling. I use Opera and I feel that it is better than FF and IE, yet it gets no attention. I feel it deserves a bigger marketshare, but then I remember that a bigger marketshare means more security problems. I'm happy as long as Opera maintains a share big enough to keep it in business and producing a quality browser. I like to see them gaining a bit of a share as it means more money for a very deserving product and more support, but if people choose to ignore it then it's really just their loss and our gain.
In the first example, the pronoun refers to the last mentioned and only noun in the sentence, the book. In the second sentence there are two nouns and the pronoun, 'him', refers to the former rather than the latter. This also applies to your closing sentence. 'this is' can be ommitted because it refers to 'your challenge' which is the only noun in the sentence.
You can specify image sizes in em by using CSS. See this tutorial. This allows browsers like Firefox and Internet Explorer to scale them. Opera does that already though.
If you lived in Australia you'd find plenty of them, and they'd be all half price because here it's Monday:). I'm off to the shops to get me some cheap cadbury chocolate now.
I saw this on a morning news program today and they had the Gold Coast Mayor discussing it. One reason was the grafitti, he mentioned that his city spends $2 - 3 Million a year cleaning up the shit and that he didn't want to encourage more kids to do it. He also mentioned how evil the violence was. Apparently its not just about tagging, it also involves beating up people with wooden planks and baseball bats. He said that this was different to a game involving AK-47s and such because the weapons it depicts are actually readily available to kids. I can see their point of view on this but I am also totally opposed to a total ban. I'm actually considering buying the game from gameplanet.co.nz now, if there was no ban I probably would have never heard of the game so they've really done the opposite of what they intended to do. I'm sure plenty of other people will do the same.
My Dad tried to uninstall Norton, it came with his laptop and the subscrition had run out so he didn't want it anymore. Once he removed it and restarted his computer totally crashed, Norton must've taken a vital system file or registry key with it too, he had to restore his computer with those stupid rescue discs and ended up back with Norton, but he lost several days and alot of work that he hadn't backed up, it caused alot of heartached too.
Putting in overplayed, well known bands in last.fm is going to give you other overplayed, well known bands. It stands to reason. Some of the more popular bands I listen to give a heap of results for bands that I've heard of and already listen to, which just shows that it is working because I do like those bands that it's recommending. When I put in more unknown bands I get results where I may know about a few of the bands but a lot of them I haven't heard of, I get some of their stuff and find out that they are good. If you like the crap they play on the radio, you don't really need a service like this because you already have a way of finding music... listen to the radio. If you like underground/alternative types of music, its a great service.
Giving you the same list is a feature, not a draw back. I haven't used Pandora but apparently it gives a random list. Last.fm gives you a list ranked on how many people listen to both your search and the results. If it randomly shuffled them you could get some results where only a few people listen to both and much more relevant results that you would like to see may be pushed right down.
The read-able-ness is a matter of opinion and hinges on your resolution. I had to squint a bit to read it. I tried using ctrl+scroll wheel to zoom in, but firefox lacks a zoom and instead just increases the text size. So the graphs got bigger but so did the text to the side which then overlapped the graphs, making it rather useless to zoom in. Also the scroll wheel is inverted, scroling down makes it bigger and up makes it smaller, what the hell?
The main reason I get pissed off with the computer is when it freezes. Running some program with all these sensors and crap would have to use a lot of system resources, just making the computer more likely to lock up and make me angrier.
EasyHotel are mentioned in the article but they are described as a cheaper, bare bones style room while these are supposed to be more luxurious while still keeping costs down.
Now if only Microsoft could get offline messages for MSN Messenger I wouldn't mind this situation but it seems they think "E-mail = offline message"..
Actually I'm a beta tester for Windows Live Messenger (the next version of MSN Messenger) and one of the new features is offline messages.
And for everyone saying AOL is the most popular, here in Australia MSN is the main one. I don't know anyone who uses any other client exclusively. I and a few others have Google Talk but MSN is the one used most.
When I got to that bit I too was confused. I had a thought about mail order brides but it didn't really make much sense. I then read the article and it makes perfect sense! Amazing what reading TFA does.
At the same time, we are working to make sure that people respect the creativity and hard work that goes into making television shows and movies.
Creativity in movies? What cinema is he going to? I've seen alot of remakes of old movies, movies based on books and games, but not much creativity. It seems they are running out of this "creativity". I'm not too sure about the "hard work" either, it seems the industry just substitutes thought and actual work with a big wad of cash to make shiny special effects.
Well I'm not too sure about the theory applying to Ikea, but my point was that the US government isn't going to be investigating everyone who has a copy because chances are, most of those people are Chinese, and I'm not sure of the quality of the US government's intelligence, but they might already know that China is a communist country. So if they are going to be investigating everyone in the US with a copy, there may still be a high number but that number doesn't necessarily corelate to the total number of published copies.
I'm not sure if you're aware of this but, as it turns out, Mao Zedong was from China, the most populous country in the world. So if it is one of the most published books, it might be because everyone in China got one.
O goody, now the studios can stop using the tiny bit of imagination they were using and just use this program to produce even more movie clones for the masses to waste their money to see.
"very prevalent" means all 5 stations have digital... honestly, most of the crap they show isn't worth watching, digital or otherwise.
While they're at it, they could even put the capacity in real GB rather than '1GB=1 000 000 000B' so you don't mysteriously lose 2GB when you plug your '30GB' iPod into your computer.
Not a very obvious link, but it's there: printer friendly version

Eh? We can't already? First I've heard about it.

It might be just me but that sort of makes the idea of a mobile phone redundant, doesn't it?
