is it just me or is it obvious that you can write other software to interface with the iPod? seriously, different software, different store? they might as well try forcing to go open source. oh wait, they are trying that too.:P
it would seem that they detect that you are usign macros because there is a consistant time duration (or none) between keystrokes. i think that if you add a small random delay between 100 and 200 ms and perhaps a bit more on occasion between each required keystroke and it should become undetectible. it would be best if you had a macro that let you just hit one button repeatedly to progress each step of the macro. if they are considering WINE to be third party software and that is an issue, then perhaps they should consider releasing a linux client. an alternate solution, find and kill the admins that ban you.:)
First Power Point lets managers make boring and inane presentations and now they will be able to apply the same tactics to web pages. who needs a webmaster when you can make a page for a half the cost with absolutely no value? PERFECT!
i would like to point out that as far as government programs go, 1.24 million is nothing at all. they pay contractors more money to repave a parking lot! i dont see this as doing any good for OSS itself. perhaps the NSA will get interested and do something but dont hold your breath. on a side note, i dont think MS would ever let them do an automated scan, even if they did it themselves. bad publicity is never good(well duh!).
there is a problem with the status of OSS. simply put, there is way too large an array of applications which is confusing on what to use and most are only half done or difficult to use. there are MANY project that should be merged so that they get the best of both programs. an example is Inkscape and Sodipod with GIMP and a bunch of tiny drawing applications. this combonation would make the BEST image editing and drawing application, even to rival Photoshop and Illistrator. there are about a trillion sound editing programs, a vast array of image viewing application and audio and movie players. polishing the programs is what makes them really worthwhile. the one good thing about OSS is that there are many common libraries that seem to get used in all the seperate projects. finally, having these programs be able to be simply packaged as a single installation option (like a "program suite" for debian) would really help too. unity could really go a very long way towards convincing people and businesses to switch.
it would seem they have created another gaming device that requires Shaq sized hands. it would be better if they made the controls stick out on each side and be smaller so that you can hold the damn thing.
they forgot to mention that samsung also broke a key DRM feature. you know, the one that erases your memory of the movie so you dont describe what happens, to other people.
it would seem sony doesnt really understand how piracy works. remember there were and still are "cracks" and "no-cd" patches for games. what is going to prevent pirates from just saving the downloaded info, perhaps apply a small patch so it loads off the disc instead of online? if it takes 3 days before i can play a game i just bought because it needs to download, hell, i would prefer the pirate version just so it doesnt have to download and take up space on the PS3 hard drive. even if it's a very small download, that just means a very small patch will be needed to bypass such measures. Sony, listen up! this is just going to be another "felt tip marker" incident.
i wouldnt put a lot of faith in this report. i mean, this IS from the media and the figures are just estimates. as usual, they will come out originally for $500 and drop to $300 and eventually $200. as for the delay being a killer for the PS3, remember Dreamcast and the PS2? the PS2 came out far later and destroyed the Dreamcast, i think that is mostly because the PS1 was so awesome. now with the success of the PS2, i dont think there is a doubt that the PS3 will be a huge success. additionally, remember that the PS2 got fastracked when it could use more development. they punched it out and lots of people said it was a mistake but look what happened, success all around. as for $320 for the drive, the drives are already developed and ready to streamlining production. i say it will cost like $175 tops to mass produce due to the advances in other (DVD/CD) drive technologies.
The Homestar Runner totally is in HTML... you can totally browse in Firefox without any stinkin' flash plugin installed. However, I'm not really sure why people think big empty squares are funny.
for the most part, i look for a picture of the screen.
tomorrows news: Sun's Grid taken over, largest spamming opperation ever

Why would a beautifully made up woman with a bullet in her brain make you want to buy a game?
hello? the necrophiliac gamer is a demographic that is completely untapped!

it seems like warcraft/starcraft are out and even the government made America's Army. perhaps they should ban stupidity in Tennessee instead.
Videogames are not the devil incarnate

There is an option to switch to Standardised News, but that means another hit on the server.
:P
i guess that's the price you have to pay for searching things like "horsy porn" on a regular basis.
In Soviet Russia, we don't have first laser.
like all obsoleted slots, you can jam some cardboard in there and you have yourself a nifty place to put your keys!
