  1. You skipped the end part where the Supreme Court deadlocks at 4-4, remands the case then decides to hear it again sometime after a new Justice is sworn in. Which from what is being said will be when Hell freezes over.

  2. Anyone who says that Judge Lucy Koh lacks experience needs to read up about a case called "Apple vs. Samsung". You may have heard of it. She's not afraid to put even the heavy hitters into their place.

"Come on," Koh told Bill Lee, one of Apple's lawyers. "You want me to do an order on 75 pages? Unless you're smoking crack, you know these witnesses aren't going to be called."

Seems like she just isn't afraid to call "Bullshit" when pushed.

Wife got a new car. Kid borrowed said new car to go "to the store". 3 hours and 150 miles later kid returns. We already know he went somewhere, Disney World for all we know or he would tell us. So now Verizon will be to tell us where he went? It's just a little step further than we already were. And even without Verizon, we're still pretty certain he went to Disney World and was driving 90 miles an hour on I-4.

  6. Exactly on Ask Slashdot: What's Out There For Poor Vision? · · Score: 1

This is exactly what I did a few years ago. "Reading" glasses set for a focal length of about 25 inches. Mine use a full size lense, not the little half height ones typically found in reading glasses. While you are at it, get the glare reducing coating and non-reflective frames. Eyeglasses like these will allow you to see the whole screen without moving your head around to find the right focal point.

I use regular progressive bifocals for everything but computer work. If you try to use typical reading glasses from the dollar store for computer work, you will be tilting your head in a very awkward angle in focus the screen. Same thing for progressives or the old fashioned bifocals.

  7. There is no "fear" here. "Think", "know", "are certain that", yeah all those. If there were any "fear" here we would be on the right track.

Seems the way to counter this effort to demonize Snowden by the people who are criminally spying on everyone is to keep repeating that Snowden is a Patriot. But I see that this course of action will quickly degenerate into a shouting match. I'm pretty certain I would lose any shouting match to an idiot, so the percentages don't look good here.
