Warhammer has been around for more than 20 years. That would be why they sound cliche. They are cliche due to being ripped off by Blizzard and others for all that time.
Sounds a lot like what I just built. I went with a mini ATX version of the ASUS board, same CPU, same video card, 2 GB of RAM and a smaller SATA drive. Also a sweet Thermaltake case. Ran me about $800. Also made the mistake of putting Vista on it. Was hoping for some extra gaming power but the Vista NVIDIA drivers and DX10 just suck.
Mine too. That was the only thing that got me away from my Tetris addiction on the Gameboy. Ahhh... that old green tinted Gameboy screen. I miss it... ok not really.
If that had happened at my college, I would move off campus. The way most colleges are these days, shut off their Internet and they will just go to the bars and clubs. Yeah, that will enrich an educational experience.
Yeah, that never happens with Microsoft or Nintendo. It always amazes me how every time a system comes out everyone is so surprised that there is a shortage. No one wants to have their consoles sell well and have some left over... they want the news reporting about long lines at Best Buy and people getting capped in line waiting for their systems or getting jumped and console-jacked leaving the store.
I wonder if they are going to rest on their buyout or start another game company. Of course, I guess that depends on if they are under a non-compete agreement.
Also opens up the possibility of someone in a country who doesn't cooperate with international copyright laws to open up a streaming video service and offer a sampling of international television. Of course, YouTube seems to already have a lot of that... but you could offer people the ability to stream in entire seasons of Doctor Who or Sleeper Cell or whatever.
The global marketplace can be a wonderful thing sometimes.
Great point. If I remember the tag lines from Fallout 2 it was something like: "Fall in love, get married, pimp out your wife for money." I thought that was in the instruction book for it, but all I can find is my old CD... which I quickly loaded up on my laptop for a quick blast from the past.
A Fallout MMORPG could work. Just like a Star Wars MMO could work but didn't. So like another poster said, wake me in Q4 2009 so I can see if it doesn't suck.
This happens all the time these days. People are paid to put fake youtube.com videos and post ads in public forums all the time.
Anyway, anyone ever had Bachelor Chow (c)? Great stuff!
but then I read the comments and reviews which all pointed in the same direction as this thread. I'm glad I bought M2:TW this weekend instead. Hopefully, we will see some good patches for NWN2 that will restore the franchise's honor.
I had a similar experience when I bought GTA:VC at Toys R Us after it was released. The lady in front of me bought the game and then handed it to her gleeful 9-year-old son. The sales clerk was unusually concerned with this and asked the lady if she was aware of the ESRB rating on the game. She, of course, did not know what he was talking about. He then proceeded to explain the system and the fact that the game was rated M for Mature. She responded by saying that if her son asked for it, it must not be a very bad game.
ESRB = Great. Parental responsibility = Even Better.
I agree. I do pay a monthly fee for WoW, but even though I have only played the game for two months I find it harder and harder to justify the cost. I also have owned Guild Wars since its release and while I don't play it regularly, I am comfortable with having it on my hard drive as I pay no monthly fees.
Besides, Gametap seems to have a bunch of older games. Most of which I can get in anthologies for my PSP. Only about $30-$40 a pop and I don't have to worry about a subscription.
I miss games like Sam and Max and Grim Fandango and would be happy to pay $35-$40 for the joy of playing them. Just not $10 a month.
I want to play games on whatever I have available... handheld, older systems, PC, etc. I want to watch football and movies in HD. Just because a game is pretty doesn't make it good. Of course, same goes for football and movies.
If two medical doctors can get together and form a successful company like Bioware then a baseball player, comic book legend and fantasy author should be able to do something other than sound like a bad geek-joke punchline. Best of luck to them as long as they can push out something good.
Anytime you buy something from a retail store like a mouse that is in that annoying hard plastic container that takes a blowtorch to open. Of course, you pull out the scissors and end up cutting through the warranty card or manual or just try to muscle it open and get a gash on your hand from the sharp edges. I hate those things.
I really don't get his point. He's writing like Hunter S. Thompson was universally accepted and Gonzo journalism was some sort of popular revolt that was loved by all. Afraid to say that it has never been like that. Honestly, can you see the average American in the 60s or 70s clamoring for a copy of Rolling Stone to read Hunter's latest? Gonzo appealed to a certain group and Thompson was seen as the greatest by THAT group. Sure, a lot of people today love good ole Hunter, but most of that is just because he's trendy these days. Sort of like philosophy classes in college... people take them so they can feel educated not because of any REAL interest in dissecting the human condition. There are plenty of good (and an extrememly small number of great) writers out there who cover different aspects of "pop" culture. However, video games are not the same as music or movies... those writers who are great video game writers will not seem like great writers to music or movie critics as they deal with totally seperate subjects. Just like Gonzo would not appeal to the average person of the 60s or 70s.
Yeah, I know. I played Bioshock too.
Yep. Here is the article: http://www.slashfilm.com/2008/04/08/pixar-announces-up-newt-the-bear-and-the-bow-and-cars-2/

I did the same thing to Cingular. Get a statement every month telling me I have a 1 cent credit.
We need to get Al Gore on this STAT! Only he has the power to save us!

Sounds like my daughter. If we could only give everyone the energy of a two-year-old.

Accurate climatology data = 50 years Estimated age of the earth = billions of years yeah, we REALLY know a lot about why the earth changes climate.
good stuff. so is the assassin eternal/undead or is GWB?
... it's still a better system for the money then the PS3.

thousands of cell phones screamed out at once. Oh, wait... it was just an average day in LA.
