Like the bbspot slashdot replacement
Just see: http://bbspot.com/toys/slashtitle/index.html There must be some secret messages in some slashdot articles. If slashdot look alikes can be made that easy. Just take the email address, some subject and some non relevant remark and you are there. Maybe slashdot is one enourmous codebook....

Thanks
I do know the difference between it's and its. Unfortunately that's a mistake I often make when typing. I corrected the error. Thanks for pointing it out. Since I'm the only one who works on the site I often make errors like that . Self editing is not the most accurate procedure. I will endeavor to perform better in the future.

I'm not too surprised, with the 20 or so distributions of LINUX kicking around.

Re:Why Napster Wins
Why can't you just use something like launch.com? Sure, you can't download the songs, but it's still streaming music and 100% free. The only worthwhile reason to use Napster is to get that one song you really don't want to buy a whole CD for so you can burn it onto a Fistgrrl Hot Mix. It takes about 3 minutes to download a song from Napster, launch.com just streams.
Vote for me for Hippest DJ.

Hey, MP3s won't make artists poor if they do what Metallica did!

OverclockingThis article at BBSpot expliains how the world will end. It will be some mad overclocker who OC's his CPU so fast that it tears a hole in the fabric of the space-time continum. This won't likely happen with the 750Mhz Coppermine used in this disaster, but if Intel ever gets the 2Ghz out, things could get much worse...

Sure...
I'd pay $4.95 a month to use Napster, and that's certainly more than I spend on CDs now so the RIAA would be up on me.
They should make it a graduated scale with X number of dollars for X number of songs with an option for unlimited downloads.

Get the rap version...
Somebody should recruit Chuck D of Public Enemy to do a rap version of the DeCSS code. I'm sure he'd be just happy to stick it to Hollywood as he is the music industry. His bass voice would even make C code sound good. Fight the power!

It's Called Tech Support
I work for a computer manufacturer (albeit a very, very small one), and we don't charge less for taking the OS off either. Our logic has nothing to do with M$.
Usually when someone doesn't get the machine with the OS we spend countless hours on the phone in tech support with them trying to install their own OS. Not every computer user is a Slashdot genius.
If Dell doesn't drop the price, the money is going into their pocket not M$.
