Re:So it's a lie
So unemployment is actually 36%, not their phoney bullshit "historic low" 3.9%.
Right. But we don't expect our 5 year olds to go to work in coal mines anymore. The statistics don't count kids, the elderly, or the disabled. The unemployment statistics everyone throws about is trying to count people currently looking for a job. And that's important because they're all competing with each other. (other than tradesmen and professionals and specialists, whom should really look at statistics within their own niche). The part where the statistic is bullshit is that it ignores people who have given up. NEETs. It ignores a lot of people on bullshit disability. It doesn't account for underemployment like a mathmatics PHD handing people coffee or cutting edge vertex shader developers cranking out business SQL scripts.
REGARDLESS of the bullshit though, it's been consistent* bullshit so you can compare the number to other years. And yeah, the rate is low in historical terms.
* I dunno though, don't they change how they count now and then? When was the last big rule-change?

America is the bigger problemChina is still catching up to US levels.Since America uses so much more electricity than other countries you are still the worst coal electricity users.
You already know Americans produce more CO2 from coal powered electricity than Chinese people.
Chinese coal plants produced 3,573 MT of CO2 in 2017 American coal plants produced 1,056 MT of CO2 in 2017
Per person America (less than 1/4 China's population) produces more CO2 from coal plants than China does...much more...OOPS.
Then on top of that America is the biggest user of natural gas. And America too, is the far biggest oil user.
It's no wonder your CO2 emissions are so much more than every one elses.

SILENCE juden monster synagogue of Satan
Khazar Talmudic Jews believe this of all they call goyim/gentiles (non-jews): Jews = biggest racists of all for which they "jew guilt" you for no less & you can't be racist vs. a religious cult like them (though they accuse YOU of it)! They're hypocrites known as thieves all thru history or were these nations banishing them a lie? Argentines in 1940 under Peron, France (1306), Egypt (despoiled/robbed by jews), Arabs (pre & post 1948), England (1330 Edward longshanks), Romans under titus, Russia pogroms, Spanish inquistion & Spain 1492 and Germany who got rid of them from their nations nazi german's too? No. Driven into DESERTS ages ago! Don't wonder why after all those exilings above. Should anyone doubt any of this see Jacob Javits' crony Rosenthal spill the beans on it (which JEWgle's JEWTube has blocked, there are links below though that are not blocked proving it is truth) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4zMVZ8HnFI/ where he called all Christianity fools for helping Israel and the biggest scam of all time per their beliefs below from their Talmud. This is the province of the synagogue of Satan (Pharisees whom Jesus Christ himself kicked to the curb out of the temple & they killed him for it. Jeremiah did the same to them also + the Essenes could not stand them either breaking away from the pharisee corruption):
Mark Zuckerberg who STOLE facebook's code from the Winklevoss twins (who dusted him in court on it) calling his users "DUMB FUCKS" & spied on his collegiate classmates via 'fakebook', home of bots and spying/tracking you, now in court FRYING (rightfully so). Short sellers
Tesla is the most shorted stock in history.
This gives many, many people an incentive to trash-talk the company, so that the stock tanks and they can make money.
"Oh, but wait: if you look at the numbers this way, it shows that Tesla will crash and burn any day now."
or,
"Musk is a serial liar, literally nothing that comes out of his mouth is true. The company is run by incompetent nincompoops and Musk is one bad day swsy from a psychotic break"
Tesla will either crash and burn, or be completely out of the woods, in 3 months. Call it 6 months just for some wiggle room: by the end of the year, Tesla will be either gone or a rock solid investment.
What you are seeing is a bunch of last-ditch efforts to try and crash the stock so people can make some money from it.
Fortunately, many Tesla investors have realized that news reports about Tesla don't matter (I read one report that said exactly that, but can't find it ATM). They're going to wait out the summer storm and see a stronger, better company in the Fall.
Stock prices have dipped *slightly* over the last month, but have largely recovered.
Investors are keen to wait out the storm. Check back in 6 months time.

Re:this is why...
Are Honda's expensive to maintain? Mine has seemed fairly reliable. As I look at my spreadsheet there's only a handful of the costs that are replacement parts: 3% of the total cost of the car. (not including regular maintenance like a timing belt changes)
As I compare it to the cost of our 4Runner it is more expense; The Accord costing about $270/mo vs $191/mo but we've only had the Accord for 8 years vs 15 years for the 4Runner. Check it out yourself if you're curious: https://docs.google.com/spread...
BTW: this is what it looks like if you try to "drive the car until the wheels fall off".

I ported something from Win32/64 to Linux
See subject: It's MUCH faster + more efficient now on Linux (rethought part of it). 1st link sheds more light on it https://www.google.com/search?client=ubuntu&channel=fs&q=%22APK+Hosts+File+Engine%22+and+%22start64%22&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8/ & it gives users of it greater speed/security/reliability, natively, minus "Bolt-on-'MoAr'" ILLOGIC-logic + less complexity (& bugs/security issues) + faster using what you already have in a 45++ yr. PROVEN subsystem in the IP stack itself...
* Soon to be ported to FreeBSD/PC-BSD (trueOS) & Mac OS X too!
(FACT: No SINGLE "so-called 'competitor'" of it does as much for much less natively - period)

switch?
>" What's a concerned citizen of the internet to do? Here's one no-brainer: Stop using Chrome and switch to Firefox."
Many of us, myself included, have NEVER used Chrome and still use Firefox on all our systems. Yes, that is a no-brainer if you value your privacy.
In the earlier days of Chrome, Firefox performance stagnated and Chrome was fast and lean. But that was less of a concern to many of us. Still, many switched primarily for that reason (with apparently no concern about closed binaries and privacy). Well, that reason is certainly gone now!
Oh, and make sure to not use http://google.com/ for searching.... another no-brainer. I would recommend http://startpage.com/ or similar. Same results, no tracking.

"Natural Monopolies"
The term "Natural Monopoly" refers to a business with very high natural barriers to entry. A condition which lends itself to monopoly or even oligopoly. And the resultant monopolistic or oligopolistic pricing.
Industries like utilities, airlines, communications, railways are natural monopolies.
"Hormesis" is a medical term. It means something that in low doses is beneficial and high doses is harmful. Regulation may be the same way, as it is for beneficial drugs.
Some folks need the world to be digital - all one way or all the other. It's really an analog world.

You should probably try to make valid points...
Comparing Microsoft to Google is embarrassing. Google makes much of its revenue from ads, Microsoft is extremely well rounded tech company selling a OS, Azure, Xbox, Office Suite, Cloud services, and hardware. Now comparing Apple to Microsoft would be a much more equal comparison.
Google has an OS, Cloud offerings (which you mention twice for Microsoft), Google Docs (as well as other cloud offerings), and hardware. They also do things MS does not, like sell phones. And create services that people really want and use. It could be argued that they jam them down your throat via the Android platform - which is most assuredly true - but they are true innovators. They rule search (you forgot to mention Bing). They gave us Maps maps with traffic and streetview. So many more things that while I don't find valuable I know others do. Here is a link in case you need it... https://www.google.com/about/products/.
So yes, it is embarrassing to compare the two companies... one has been innovating and producing for a long time, the other has always been about maintaining a grip on a monopoly. That monopoly that has slowly slipped away. I think that the only reason Azure is taking off is because that monopoly was so strong for so long. And to be clear, I am not really a big user of google because I value my privacy. I don't turn on my location on my phone. I used maps to check traffic. I disable as many of their services on my phone that I can. I just don't quite trust them. But I can't deny their innovations, investment, and ability to drive technology.

Just use a firewall
When it comes to android apps, just get a firewall and block the apps wifi and cell access. I personally use NoRoot Firewall

You can easily block each app individually. The only thing is, you have stop the firewall to download something from the google store or use a browser. Then just restart it.

Re:Trump
If I were a better fundraiser, I'd probably be sitting on an easy win.
;) People seem to know who I am wherever I go, though, which is uh. Interesting. Now the question is do voters know who I am?I might start a lobbying organization and publish a policy handbook whether I win or lose. It may contain some radical ideas.
If you like reading economics lit, I'm pulling in data from the Nordic model among other places. There's another book on the same topic. I don't always agree with their conclusions, and sometimes they don't make conclusions (e.g. they point out that indefinite unemployment insurance is easy to game and that people stay on it not-as-long when it's limited to 2 years, and also point out that this doesn't necessarily mean more employment because these people may be trading into jobs other people were getting and so the unemployment rate can stay the same either way--a deficiency I've commented on in our 6-month system here: it relies on people floating in and out, not on reducing actual unemployment).

Re:Fuck yeah!
You forgot to mention that while some goods can be bought more cheaply you also see your wages fail to keep pace as has been the case since the 70's.
Working 40 hours and being able to buy more means your wages are keeping pace with your cost-of-living increase.
That said, so long as you're not arguing that wages (other than the minimum wage, which needs government support) are falling or remaining stagnant, you're not wrong; with a 10% increase in average purchasing power, you can have everyone's purchasing power go up by 5% and they're all still...well, richer. They're also lagging behind.
I've actually suggested a completely-new approach to tax and income policies which ties minimum wage to 1/4 the GNI-per-Adult ($10.20 in 2018 based on a policy I wrote) and effective tax rates to the GNI-per-Capita and some equivalence scale magic (it's a straight-forward process, but tedious to explain; being straight-forward makes it less-complex, but having some math involved makes it slightly-annoying).
That all essentially means your taxes go down if you don't get a proportional share of the productivity (if it goes up 10%, your income goes up by inflation, then goes up by 10% from there, and you pay exactly the same effective tax rate at that point), and the minimum wage also goes up in proportion to productivity growth (except it never goes down). That maintains the structural foundation, and doesn't force the structure into a given shape above that--except it sort of prevents it from becoming more bottom-heavy (or at least resists).
The per-capita income is about $59,000 and the per-Adult income is about $86,000. You need some structure below to have structure above, but the people at the bottom shouldn't be immobilized by poverty or completely unable to care for themselves. When that center point moves, the people at the bottom should move along with it: the entire structure should shift forward instead of simply elongating, and the bottom should shift forward in the same proportion as the center.

Re:The bias of reverse bias
Yes, they need to change the problem statement. Google's ML bias paper defines the goal as "the false adverse results should affect each identity group at the same ratio." In their example, Black people who would have repaid a home loan and White people who would have repaid it should be denied the loan at the same rate: equality of opportunity, but not of outcome. Adding this constraint reduces the profitability of the bank.
I guess the idea is, this specific definition of "fairness" is worth the cost pragmatically because it will reduce racial tensions. Without it, people will divide into advocacy groups by skin color and try to claw advantages for themselves, wrecking society in the process, but with it, their lack of grievance can be explained statistically and objectively so they will desist.
Will Google's definition of fairness put the breaks on that particular toxic behaviour? Only an honest look at history will tell you.
None of this is actually fair, so that should not be the goal. If you want to encode "race does not exist" into the ML, remove race from the input, and you're done. Yes, it will then learn to red-line, for example by learning where Black neighborhoods are and avoiding loans there, but this is a specific case of the general problem that ML will judge you based on irrelevant, circumstantial things outside your control. It's bad behaviour, and the ever-present incentive to behave so badly is the big reason people want privacy. The solution to that is not to use ML to make aggregate-profitable decisions you can't explain to the victims of those decisions.
Personally I think explanations and fairness are overrated sometimes, but if you want fairness, don't use ML. What Google gives you is "fairness," with a specific social goal, one that should be more broadly acceptable than the "equality of outcomes" put forth by proudly-bad-at-math "empathic" people.

Population growth is just momentum, actually
The number of children per woman in Pakistan has decreased rapidly in the last decades to now around 3 children per woman (2.3 is required for population to just be static in the long run). The only reason the population still grows is many children growing up and having (on average 2-3) kids of their own. There is no statistic link between religion and population growth.

Re:Eh..
First, this report doesn't match up with other estimates of the changes in temp from following/not following the Paris targets.
Bert Bolin, former chairman of the IPCC, notes that if Kyoto were fully implemented, twenty-five years later the global temperature would be cut “by less than 0.1 degree C, which would not be detectable.” Lomborg estimates that the world climate will increase by 1.92C by 2094 if nothing is done. If Kyoto is fully followed, it will take six more years to reach the same temperature.
Second, for many countries, it's not clear if an increase of 2 degrees is a net positive or negative.
William Cline and William Nordhaus, separately, have estimated the cost of warming of 2.5C (4.5F) to be about 1 percent of the U.S. GDP. Actually, though, Nordhaus calculated the cost at only 0.25 percent and then guessed, on the basis of unmeasured sectors, that the total might be as high as 1 or 2 percent. Interestingly, both Cline and Nordhaus explicitly ignored potential benefits from a warmer climate. Other economists agree that the benefits, at least to the United States and probably to most northern countries, outweigh the costs. Robert Mendelsohn of Yale University and his colleague James Neumann found that, on net, the United States would gain around 0.1–0.2 percent in GDP for the moderate warming (2.5C) likely to occur by 2060.
Third, they use a 3% discount rate for the sutdy, which skews it towards spending more now instead of later. A Typical Discount Rate would be in the 6-12% range.
For more info, read the Encyclopedia of Economics on the topic.

Re:robots.txt
Yes it does, which is unfortunate. In the past I've noticed this when domain squatters acquire an expired domain and the Web Archive begins denying access to archived pages from the original site.
This appears to be a misread of the robots.txt intent.
Apparently, the "Robot Exclusion Protocol" was intended to prevent unattended crawlers.
However, the Internet Archive also prevents human initiated crawls, and retroactively removes access to previous crawls. Here is a quote from the FAQ of Archive.is, an internet archival service similar to the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine:
> Why does archive.is not obey robots.txt?
> Because it is not a free-walking crawler, it saves only one page acting as a direct agent of the human user. Such services don't obey robots.txt (e.g. Google Feedfetcher, screenshot- or pdf-making services, isup.me, )
which links to Google Feedfetcher's FAQ:
> Why isn't Feedfetcher obeying my robots.txt file?
> Feedfetcher retrieves feeds only after users have explicitly started a service or app that requests data from the feed. Feedfetcher behaves as a direct agent of the human user, not as a robot, so it ignores robots.txt entries. Feedfetcher does have one special advantage, though: because it's acting as the agent of multiple users, it conserves bandwidth by making requests for common feeds only once for all users.

also of note is that the thrust is _Significantly_ higher than possible with magnetic coupling to the earth's field and that the thrust takes about ~20s to ramp up / down after power is applied / removed. (which is a major wtf. because it's still thrusting 20s _AFTER_ power is cut_ )

Context doesn't matter here
He's the president of the United States. There are some things you _do_not_say_. Period. End of subject. Dehumanizing people leads to genocides. We have thousands and thousands of years of history to back this up. The fact that the quote can be taken out of context is itself a problem. To you and me we see it as a nasty gut reaction. The biggest problem I have with Trump
is his comment about immigrants being animals. Don't get me wrong, I have issues with America's immigration policies (I'm a tech worker and the constant stream of H1-Bs has killed my wages and lead to companies that won't train or promote), but it frightens me to see anyone referred to as an animal. Once we start dehumanizing people we can do anything to anyone because it's not a big leap to declare anyone who's inconvenient an 'animal'. That line of thought shouldn't be in our country much less our president.
Now, I don't actually thing Trump believes that. But that's the problem. He knows how to work a crowd and will do and say _anything_ to do it. He's amoral. No immoral, amoral. He has no morality whatsoever. He feeds the crowd whatever it wants and, well, things are tough in America right now for about 80% of the population. And when things get tough people get mean. Trump's feeding that sentiment with wild abandon... -
