Re:So, balance it out a little
i said this story is probably true but they do have a credibility issue, theyve been caught skewing the results. Even the WaPo has called them out, I linked their article in another thread. RealClear politics rated them and showed that they actually cited THEMSELVES as sources of their fact checking. Its fact checking. You cannot site yoursel or for that matter opinion articles (they scored a 90% on the topic f using the media as their 'fact check'. Considering journalists often use snopes for their fact checking, this means that a journalist runs with an article because snopes said another journalist said its true)
Believe me, I am highly skeptical, of everything. Im one of the few that believe both sides of these debates work in concert to keep us believing the world would be a better place if only the other side wasnt preventing progress. The reality is this 50/50 split serves to guarantee no progress ever happens and noone is ever held accountable. its entirely by design. But some more tidbits of this supposedly fact-only not bias'ed group:
Snopes’ main political fact-checker is a writer, Kim Lacapria. Before writing for Snopes, Lacapria wrote for Inquisitr, a blog known for publishing fake quotes and even downright hoaxes. Couple of examples
https://www.inquisitr.com/6700...
https://www.rawstory.com/2015/...While at Inquisitr, she consistently displayed clear partisanship. She described herself as “openly left-leaning” and a liberal. She trashed the Tea Party as “teahadists.” She called Bill Clinton “one of our greatest” presidents. She claimed that conservatives only criticized Lena Dunham’s comparison of voting to sex because they “fear female agency.” She once wrote: “Like many GOP ideas about the poor, the panic about using food stamps for alcohol, pornography or guns seems to have been cut from whole cloth–or more likely, the ideas many have about the fantasy of poverty.” (A simple fact-check would show that food stamp fraud does occur and costs taxpayers tens of millions.) These are not good traits if you're trying to portray yourself as someone only about the facts.
After blogging the Inquisitr, Lacapria joined Snopes, where she regularly plays defense for any rumor or otherwise against democrats.
She wrote a “fact check” article about Jimmy Carter’s unilateral ban of Iranian nationals from entering the country that looks more like an opinion column arguing against Donald Trump’s proposed Muslim ban. https://www.snopes.com/fact-ch...After the Orlando terror attack, Lacapria claimed that just because Omar Mateen was a registered Democrat with an active voter registration status didn’t mean he was actually a Democrat. Her “fact check” argued that he might “have chosen a random political affiliation when he initially registered.” Eactly how is this fact checking and not a platform to substitute her opinions as given facts. The FACT was he was a registered democrat. Why did she need to downplay this fact and rate it as a Mixture and not simply True. https://www.snopes.com/fact-ch...
here is the quote
"What that lone fact means is the subject of a good deal of speculation, with possibilities ranging from Mateen’s being a supporter of Democratic ideology to his simply having chosen a random political affiliation when he initially registered. Mateen didn’t appear on the FBI’s radar until 2013, and it’s possible that in the ten years between 2006 and 2016 his political outlook (whatever it was to begin with) might have changed radically, even -

I don't care for the protestors' behavior or agenda. But, assault? Seriously? Did you even read of any that sensational BS you linked to? If so, you might find the words "attack" or "assault" a little much for what amounts to verbal berating.

Re: He helped the Free Palestine Movement so....
Any massive change in the demographics of a nation is going to have a significant impact on how that nation looks and functions.
Demographics change. It's what societies do if they want to survive. There are no pure cultures, and ethnically pure states always fail.
Attempting to preserve "borders, language, and culture" is a fools errand. After an animal has been to a taxidermist, they are seldom fertile. Look at the places in the US where there are efforts to preserve a dominant culture whose time has passed. You end up with some white supremacist jackoff stripping off his clothes and murdering people in a Waffle House.with an AR-15 after complaining on Facebook about the Illuminati and the Jews.

Reddit vs 4chan
As someone observed after the "He will not divide us" episode where 4chaners found the flag in a rather clever cunning way - "4chan is smart people pretending to be dumb. Reddit is dumb people pretending to be smart".
https://www.inquisitr.com/4060...
So how did 4chan find and steal the He Will Not Divide Us flag?
It turns out, Shia made one mistake in setting up the camera on the soon-to-be-stolen flag. It was such a simple thing that normal people would never have noticed, but the 4chan trolls sprung into action when they realized the camera was aimed in part at the sky.
According to various users on 4chan, members of the board used jet contrails, flight paths, and astronomy to determine the general location of the He Will Not Divide Us flag installation. After narrowing down the location to somewhere in Tennesee, 4chan sleuths drove around the area honking their horns to see if the sound would show up on the live stream.
And as it turns out, they were successful almost immediately, as 4chan found the flag site less than a couple days after it went live. The trolls replaced the stolen flag with the hat and T-shirt mentioned earlier.
Besides the obvious issues with theft and harassment, 4chan's actions in this incident are merely a part of what has become known to many who study the impact of social media in society as the "Great Meme War."

Re: San Bernadino all over again
The point was to show the potential for violence by mobs.
But now you've raised a question: in your mind, gangs attacking with hammers and bats can be relied on to do little or no harm? You think there was never the potential for deadly violence - death by hammer, by beating? Is that a bet you would make ahead of time if you were the intended victim?
Things could easily turn out different:
Gang of thugs beat man to death with baseball bats and flee the scene sparking huge manhunt
You seem to not be able to imagine an intended victim defending himself with a firearm, only criminals imposing violence on the innocent victim. Intended victims use firearms to defend themselves successfully with regularity in the US, as in this case. There are many, many others.

sexually-repressed fake christian prudes
"For too long, courts around the country have ruled that Backpage can continue to facilitate illegal sex trafficking online with no repercussions," said Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio.
Why don't you mind your own goddamn business? Thank goodness the "family values conservatives" are in charge, amirite? Sessions cracking down on marijuana, Trump encouraging police to brutalize suspects and Portman making sure it's illegal for two consenting adults to enter into a personal contract.
If Portman cares about human trafficking, maybe he should look into Trump's "model agency" or his relationship with Melania.

Re:Thank goodness we have Trump now
he republicans are all talk to appear tough for the public
...Someone not paying attention to the senate or house recently. Yep sure looks like it.
Hillary and Obama did not threaten the start of WW3 as much as they threatened to stop Putin's theft from Russia
So let's go with that. You wonder why the Russian government seriously believed that if Hillary was elected that there would be a war. Would you perhaps like to claim that the inquisitr is a right-wing publication to save face before you find out that it's a left-wing publication.
THAT is why Putin was so desperate that he worked to get Trump elected
...Yes, he worked so hard that we have no proof that they were involved. Or that the DNC email leaks show the exact opposite of what you're trying to say, like the fact that Hillary was acting as a front in a cash-for-access program using the clinton foundation to the state department. Would you like to now claim ABC News is right-wing? Or perhaps the washington post which also reported on it.
Remember that part where the previous administration claimed that Russia was behind the DNC leaks, but there's no actual proof because the FBI never had access to actually investigate it. That Comey said that in itself was a "odd occurrence" and in turn there is no positive proof because of that. Remember that part where the founder of wikileaks came out and stated that Russia wasn't the source. The same wikileaks that the left cheered on for leaks under Bush and were quite happy when the information was supporting their side. Shall we continue?

Re:Drawing more attention to Pepe
The only people that want pepe dead are those on the left who continue to push that a meme from 2008 is a "hate symbol." FYI that's fake news. And said bullshit of it being a hate symbol was nothing but a troll by an individual to screw with the absolute lack of fact checking by the media. It's no different then people trolling the media that the following things are also hate symbols: OK gesture. White milk. The entire American Sign Language, among other things. If anything people have simply had enough and decided to crash the media with no survivors. I wish them the best, and may kek be with them.

Nope. This president.
Before Donald Trump became the president, he used to criticize former President Barack Obama for spending too much time playing golf. Re:Perhaps globalism might be in fear for once.
You think there's going to be ~less~ fraud and abuse under a Trump presidency?
He's got a Dept. of Education cabinet pick who blames a clerical error on her being VP of her mother's charity for 17 years, an HHS pick who passed laws to specifically help his stock picks (and I don't mean made it easier to trade stocks - he bought stocks and then helped pass laws that made those company's stock prices go up), and a pick for Sec State who wants to reduce sanctions on Russia so his former company, Exxon (they're tiny, you might not have heard of them), can get billions of dollars worth of investment off the ground there, also helping his stock prices.
Shine on, you crazy diamond.
Yes, even if all that's true it pales in comparison to what Clinton would have done.
Did you that the "Clinton Global Initiative" just shuttered operations? I mean, who could have seen that coming? You'd think since she isn't President of the USA she would have more time for her, um, charitable work. It's almost like it was a massive scam meant to give the Clintons a slush fund to live the big life on "donations" from people who wanted to buy influence. Nah, couldn't be.

Re:Chile is interesting
I would contend that this press release by your government is a rationally motivated move enabled by the tolerance and general credulousness of your fellow countrymen vis a vis UFOs, rather than a symptomatic lack of education among your elected leadership. To wit, the most salient line of this article:
(Note: None of the agencies acknowledged the possibility of an unauthorized airplane in Chilean airspace, a presence that could explain the radio silence, the lack of a clearance for landing, and the possibility of flying low enough to evade radar detection.)
Spooky unidentified things zooming around controlled national airspace is a security threat - no matter who, or what, is in the cockpit. America has investigated UFOs quite thoroughly as well, but unlike Chile, our agencies consider it a source of embarrassment that shouldn't be made public. Since the Chilean populace is more tolerant of such things, your military is free to publish this most interesting video under the guise of free and open-minded exploration into unexplained phenomena, in the hopes it might encourage their neighbors to keep a keen eye out for further... incursions by these mysterious airspace-transgressing "visitors" - otherworldly, or otherwise.

Re:planned for AFTER hillary's election
there remains the distinct possibility that close states will flip to her slate of electors
I'm curious how you think that could possibly happen. Historically, individual electors have voted contrary to their commitment, but I doubt that there exists a legal means to unseat an elected slate of electors, short of a recount that flips the state's result.
There is a group of 8 Democratic electors (the so-called "Hamilton Electors") who say they're going to vote for John Kasich, and a Democratic elector from the state of Washington who says he won't vote for Hillary Clinton. There is a Republican elector from Texas who says she will not vote for Trump, but instead for some unnamed Republican she feels would be a better choice. So far, that's a net loss of 8 for Clinton and a net loss of 1 for Trump.
If enough electors refuse to vote for Trump but don't vote for Clinton, then no one gets 270 in the Electoral Collage and it gets kicked to the House of Representatives, where votes may be cast for anyone who received at least one Electoral College vote.

Re:So now Clinton supporters can't handle the resu
Donald Trump is the most popular Republican candidate in history bringing in over 62.4 million votes during the 2016 presidential election. He also secured victories in at least 83 percent of the counties in the United States. Trump is also ranked the third most popular presidential candidate in history. However, there is one huge difference in Trump’s popular vote win and that of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Trump is the only popular vote candidate in the top three to receive success in more than 25 percent of the county-level vote, a victory that has all but been overlooked in the media due to the popular vote margin and recount initiatives.
NBC News notes that Barack Obama won with less than a 25 percent victory rate across all of the U.S. counties, scrapping in with a county victory rate of just 22 percent. Should Hillary Clinton have won the race based on popular vote alone, she would have beat Obama’s record of an all-time low with just a 15-17 percent success rate of the county-level vote.
However, the situation was very different for the Republican party’s most successful candidate, Donald Trump. The president-elect accomplished something unprecedented by ranking in the top three most popular candidates while maintaining a drastic county-level lead over Clinton. Trump received his popular vote count while earning a victory in 83-85 percent of the counties within the United States. In fact, the Atlantic notes that Trump’s lead in 3,000 of the 3,100 counties was so significant it would have resulted in a landslide victory for the businessman. If the top 100 most populous counties are removed and the remaining 3,000 counties were only counted, Trump won the 3,000 counties’ popular vote by 11.5 million votes.
“Clinton has won only about 420 counties total—far fewer than any popular vote winner over the past century. In the roughly 3000 counties beyond the 100 largest, Trump trounced Clinton by about 11.5 million votes.”

Re: I thought Trump hated gays
Maybe if you believe the media and the monster they declare Trump to be.
How many GOP presidential candidates, or candidates from either party, have taken pictures such as this?
Trump has shown over the last 2 years that he has a backbone of steel. I wasn't expecting that from him but the man is tough as they come, and as soon as the campaign was over he started showing his true leadership.
Of course we won't hear about it on TV or in the newspapers because the liberal media will spend their time in FUD mode. At first it was "the markets are gonna crash because Trump" until the next day the markets open on an uptick, then it was all about the "massive demonstrations against Trump" of 700 people in NYC. The media are even more useless when it's a Republican administration than when they get their propaganda straight from Obama press secretary.

Facebook censorship good!
See little prols, embrace your master Facebook and lick Zuck's hipster sneakers.
We only censor the "bad" and "dangerous" stuff from the "alt-right" Trumpiness that God-Emperor Clinton has declared to be racist!
After all, freedom means being able to listen to the carefully constructed narrative that we have decided to feed you, and since we have unilaterally declared Trump to be racist for threatening our H1B pool, it's OK to censor him!
We never EVER censored a legitimate left-winger social justice warrior who believes in diversity just like us!! That's why that interview with the Green Party's Jill Stein that mysteriously disappeared from Facebook after receiving over 100k hits was NOT censored! Instead, we have determined that it never existed in the first place and you are all ordered to bow and pray towards Hillary 5 times today because it's the only way to purge yourself of your white privilege.

Re:Not so much about morality
It is incorrect to conflate prostitution and human trafficking. Even if every street-prostitute could be shown to be willingly engaged, that does not mean that there isn't a separate market for people kidnapped against their will. I doubt I could back this up with statistics because of the nature of the crime. People get estranged from their families and disappear into cults like scientology and EST/landmark-education never to be heard from again. I lived in a house where the owners were involved in EST and one of them went missing, abandoning her dog and belongings in Texas. She was spotted in NM and the only evidence afterward was cryptic blog post about "finding her new home". Case unsolved.
http://www.inquisitr.com/50063...
There are reports about attempted kidnappings of children every couple days in LA. What do you think the purpose of those kidnappings is?I have run into 'traveling magazine sales vans' since I was a teenager hanging out in places that I probably shouldn't have. I once told them I would join up and had them give a ride across town. I just jumped out and bolted into the woods instead of going to pick up my stuff like I had told them. I knew it was some scammy shit but I thought I was invincible at the time, so I was just trying to get a free taxi ride. These people learn to spot victims that have fallen through the cracks of society.
http://america.aljazeera.com/a...
http://lizditz.typepad.com/i_s...The most valuable thing for a good portion of humanity is sex, especially for people who already have plenty of money. I have heard stories from Mexican girls in East LA about being sold back and forth between gang members for thousands of dollars. They don't even try and report it to the police because they think no one will believe them. Gangs or cults have made it into a profession to control every aspect of a person's life. The street term for someone marked for sale is a "barbie doll". There is a lot more to the criminal underworld than what makes it to the police blotter.
They are conflated--trafficking is a source of women who are prostituted against their will and don't see a way out. It is common for men to purchase sex with trafficking victims and never have a clue the person is coerced.

Re:What else is new?
Eliminating carbon as a fuel source world wide is not. There is nothing really different now about people in this regard.
Once upon a time, Republicans believed that CO2 was an energy retaining gas. Now? Denial of science is a party platform.
Just as a point of edification to whoever marked this post as "Troll".....
In 2008 The Republican Party platform listed global warming a a national problem, and cited Human activity among its causes.
citation: http://www.latimes.com/opinion...
http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu...
Now, here is the specific text HArd core Republicans might want to stop reading at this point, because this is going to get really uncomfortable instantly. From the 2008 platform
Addressing Climate Change Responsibly
The same human economic activity that has brought freedom and opportunity to billions has also increased the amount of carbon in the atmosphere. While the scope and long-term consequences of this are the subject of ongoing scientific research, common sense dictates that the United States should take measured and reasonable steps today to reduce any impact on the environment. Those steps, if consistent with our global competitiveness will also be good for our national security, our energy independence, and our economy. Any policies should be global in nature, based on sound science and technology, and should not harm the economy.
The Solution: Technology and the Market
As part of a global climate change strategy, Republicans support technology-driven, market-based solutions that will decrease emissions, reduce excess greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere, increase energy efficiency, mitigate the impact of climate change where it occurs, and maximize any ancillary benefits climate change might offer for the economy.
To reduce emissions in the short run, we will rely upon the power of new technologies, as discussed above, especially zero-emission energy sources such as nuclear and other alternate power sources. But innovation must not be hamstrung by Washington bickering, regulatory briar patches, or obstructionist lawsuits. Empowering Washington will only lead to unintended consequences and unimagined economic and environmental pain; instead, we must unleash the power of scientific know-how and competitive markets.
Now let us fast forward to today, Here is your 2016 presidential candidate Donald trump on global warming

Any and all weather events are used by the GLOBAL WARMING HOAXSTERS to justify higher taxes to save our planet! They don't believe it $$$$!
It’s snowing & freezing in NYC. What the hell ever happened to global warming?
Ice storm rolls from Texas to Tennessee - I'm in Los Angeles and it's freezing. Global warming is a total, and very expensive, hoax!

The 1st or the 5th?
DOJ are violating the First Amendment by attempting to force Apple to write malicious code
Ah, yes, a very novel legal strategy, I'll give you that. It would've been better, had you not misrepresented parts of it, but I shan't quibble. Most of the arguments so far have been around the 4th Amendment — protection against unreasonable searches....
Consider, for the sake of argument, government (backed by the Judiciary) wanting to search an otherwise impenetrable vault behind a coded lock. The vault-manufacturer can reveal the code. Do you believe, 1st Amendment is in any way applicable?
Before you say "yes", try to come up with a meaningful difference between a physical key, which the Amendment certainly does not protect, and a coded password...
The government has no more right to do this than it does to force political dissidents to write apologies to them.
You (and Apple) are on a shaky ground — in 2012, for example, a Federal judge has ordered a defendant to reveal her password. Maybe, she should've claimed the 1st, rather than the 5th Amendment — but that case remained inconclusive.
But in other cases, where people have succeeded resisting government's demand for passwords, they relied on the 5th Amendment, not the 1st.
Why wouldn't they use the 1st, if the password (or, indeed, computer code required to break it) were as obviously protected by it, as you and Apple imply?

Personally, I'm uncomfortable with the possibility that we could have the Zodiac Killer with his finger on the nuclear trigger. But that's just me.
And according to this news report, he also ate his own fucking booger on national TV.

Worrying
There is a nasty strand within feminism that regards all men as inherently evil. The prospect of being able to finally declare us redundant is therefore quite attractive to such people. This story is about one who had an abortion just because it was a boy http://www.inquisitr.com/18276...

Re:A machine...
I think it's just attempting to develop a personality for the software, similar to how Siri will have joking responses to certain questions or commands, such as asking her to close the pod bay doors or other queries related to competing products. Chalk it up to bored developers wanting to put a few Easter eggs into the product.
