Re:He would get my vote (fist post?)
Fauxcohontas got into Harvard Law School as a minority hire, due to her falsely claiming to be Cherokee. Harvard proudly touted her as the school's first woman of color. No kidding, this really happened. Without it, does she get in? Who can say? We can only say that when she got in Harvard was desperate for people just like her.
She also contributed recipes to a cookbook called, and I am not making this up: "Pow Wow Chow". Yikes. Can you imagine? That's a career-killer for anyone but a Democrat. What if you found out one of your friends had contributed to a cookbook with an offensive name like that? Would you cut off all ties?
But that's not even the best part of the story. She plagarized two of the recipes from a French chef. Because that's what Harvard graduates do. The dishes? Why, those traditional Cherokee meals of Cold Omelets with Crab Meat and Crab with Tomato Mayonnaise Dressing. If there had only been some clue that a French chef was copied!

Re: Ajit Pai flails at windmills for your amusemen
Google search for democrat racist policy also turns up at least 3 things. If these aren't enough, I can dig deeper.
If voter photo ID is racist, then I guess you must hate: Canada, Mexico, Honduras, Guatamala, Germany, France, Australia, Greece (the birthplace of Democracy), Netherlands, Sweden, India, and nearly every other country. Where voter ID is REQUIRED. I guess they're all racist, eh?
Democrats also gerrymander districts. The oft-shouted "national vote for House!" is, in fact, false. If you look at House representatives per population you'll see that 8 of the top 10, and 14 of the top 20 States in terms of most people per representative are GOP States. Meaning that they are actually under-represented in the US House. California - oft decried as being "shorted" on Representatives - is in the bottom 40%, with more House members per resident than the average State.
Democrats have their own dog whistles, including the aforementioned racism (any more, if you disagree with the Left on anything, you're immediately branded a racist, Nazi, or both), "gun control", "Diversity" (have you seen the recent Andrew Ngo video where he's berated and assaulted by a bunch of white assholes because he's not supporting their "cause of tolerance"?), and many more.
Back to voting. How is requiring proof of identification, racist? It is incredibly explicit in the Constitution - only citizens have the right to vote. When you come into the US, you have to prove citizenship or at least ID and that you have approval to enter. When you want to draw SS, or any Government benefit, you're supposed to provide ID - including immigration/citizenship status. Why is that all OK, but for voting - where it is explicitly called for in the Constitution - not OK? Does that make Canada, Germany, and the Netherlands (and many others) racist hell-holes?

Re:GoFundMe for Fauxcahontas?
She didn't lie, the results are out. Shes 1/32 to 1/512 Native American.
... Depending on how you read the results.DNA counselors sounds like a terrible idea. I don't trust them to get it right for right reasons or wrong reasons.
Fauxcahontas speak with forked tongue:
Meanwhile, the Globe has also obtained a portion of Warren’s 1973 application to Rutgers, where she attended law school. That document specifically asks: “Are you interested in applying for admission under the Program for Minority Group Students?’’ Warren answered “no.’’
In addition, a newly unearthed University of Texas personnel document shows that Warren listed herself as “white’’ when she taught at the law school there from 1981 to 1991.
And is almost certainly the box Fauxcahontas checked to get listed as a "Native American" at Harvard
Note well: "A person having origins in any of the original peoples of North America and maintains cultural identification through tribal affiliation or community recognition"
Even if Fauxcahontas is 1/32 Native American, she never "maintain[ed] cultural identification through tribal affiliation or community recognition".
No matter how you put it, she LIED to game the racial preference system.

Re:Oh $hit...
I'm also going to point out to you, that Media Matters, the organization in question has a very long history of quote mining, and making fabrications in order to attempt "gotcha moments." Here's an example from the other day. Rush Limbaugh(like or hate him), says "And in this article, people are claiming that sharks were being dropped on land by hurricane Florence." Media Matters then reports this tongue-in-cheek moment where he's laughing his ass off, as "Rush Limbaugh reports, that sharks were falling from the sky. This is another blahblahblahblah." They've been doing this for decades. Oh yes, they've got a very long history of being among the worst abusers.

Do you know any other tunes? It turns out what you're playing for is only the beginning of the story. Here is something from the middle.

How Edward Snowden Changed the Habits of a Terrorist
There is only one person I know who changed behavior because of Snowden. In October of last year, I traveled to Kenya to meet members of al Shabaab, an al Qaeda linked group that had pulled off a spectacular attack on an upscale mall in Nairobi a month earlier. One of the members, a man named Abdul, changed the SIM card on his mobile repeatedly. When I asked him why, he gave me a one-word answer:
“Snowden.”
It's all good, right?

Re:"toxic information"
It's to prevent toxic bullshit like this from spreading through society and causing damage. This is Vietnam, remember. They have no tradition of the extreme version of free speech in the First Amendment. In fact, to most of the world it looks weird and wrong. Vietnam doesn't have a Nazi problem, for example.

Re:How News is "Made"
Can you state specifically which sentences are inaccurate?
The phrase "ban" is inaccurate, yet was repeated by WaPo, CNN, NYT, and probably others since they tend to lift any story and repeat it without verification.

Re:Opacity: The American Tradition
Not even close to true. See how many times Judicial Watch and Legal Insurrection have filed lawsuits for information that's supposed to be public record. There is still standing lawsuits in the courts as holdovers from the Obama administration, and several cases where people in the previous administration have directly refused to turn over information that's public record despite court orders. If you think that the current administration is bad, then the previous one would be right around the blackest of nights, on the darkest of nights in terms of transparency. The Obama administration was very good at showmanship of trying to peddle transparency but that was it.
-
Re:Wrong Administration
Keep in mind that's also the POTUS that if you dared speak out against, the first response from the progressives was that: "you're a racist." But hey, they can keep digging that hole, sure going to be interesting with Rice testifying now, especially after all that backtracking and that it appears that the previous administration illegally unmasked people for political reasons(or that her story has changed and that she actually did unmask names illegally). And that those records were sent to the Obama library(which hasn't been built yet) and will take an act of congress to actually uncover, unless after that testimony that they subpoena them which is likely going to be the case.

Re:All smoke and mirrors
somebody behind the scenes trying to overthrow the president
Yeah, where would somebody get THAT idea from? I dunno, maybe from the constant, never-ending assault against him by scumbags that we've long suspected were working not for the people, but big money interests behind the scenes. Or maybe from the constant chants from those cult leaders and their followers for "resist" and "impeach", despite having no evidence or reason for impeachment other than a dislike for the guy.
This cartoon sums it up succinctly.
I always figured that presidents were figureheads who just did what they were told by the real power players, and that if a non-puppet ever got into power, we'd see a total shit-storm being thrown at them or perhaps an outright attempt on their life, like Kennedy.

Re:Nope, nothing to see here
Here is a guy prosecuted for a much less-important violation of the same: http://legalinsurrection.com/2...
Only if by "less-important", you mean "more-important". The guy who's story you linked to, deliberate took pictures of equipment he was specifically prohibited from photographing with intent to distribute the pictures to people who were not cleared to see them. As I understand it, from having previously looked at this case, he was specifically warned that what he was doing was illegal, and that he could go to jail for what he was doing and continued to do it. So he deliberately broke the law with full knowledge that he was doing so and what the punishment would be if (when) he was caught.
Hillary, on the other hand has been crucified because she received several emails that contained, improperly marked, classified information over the course of her four years at the State Department. Material that the State department is on record saying it does not believe should have ever been classified.
Do you see the difference here? Because everyone who isn't blinded by partisanship does.
-
Re:Nope, nothing to see here
If storing the classified material on her private server was not a "conscious, voluntary act,"
Begging the question, aren't you? That's a giant "if"... And the answer to the question you are begging is, "no". Because it was a "conscious, voluntary act" by Hillary Clinton.

Re:Big Whoop
Comparing HP, a single company, to the tech index, or to "other tech companies" is basically a lie in broad daylight. How about to competitors?
Compaq was a mistake, no question. The "learning from your mistakes" bullet point is more about acknowledging in public - she could have learned, but still puts on a front in public. Much of the rest of that is really just personal attack, for which Fiorina should be reviled, but this author trusted, or more about Compaq.
Certainly she's no saint, and has no reason leading any country. But there is so much in the way of skewed opinion that it's impossible to have a discussion about the real failings.
There is no better way to convince your debate opponent that they are right than to present a clearly shoddy argument. And that's what you linked to. If I liked her, I would continue to do so. If not, I would continue to not like her. There are all kinds of psychological tricks at work here, including the Backfire effect, certainly the Dunning-Kruger effect, and many others.
I continue to point out the flaws in arguments because I guess I expected better of "nerds".

Re:HOWTO
But it will cause change
Well, Utah's found a way around any possible change because of the availability of lethal injection drugs. They're doing lethal injections of lead.
http://time.com/3742818/utah-f...
And you can draw a straight line from the reinstatement of firing squads to the growing militarization of police departments from big cities to small towns, and county and state police. There are already firing squads for poor people, they call them, "police". And not just unarmed black men on the street. The new trend in American law enforcement is for young black men to somehow commit suicide by firearm or being shot by police while in police custody with their hands cuffed behind their backs.
http://www.nbcnews.com/news/in...
http://legalinsurrection.com/2...
In conclusion: Unarmed black guys get killed by representatives of the government, but if a white guy threatens an officer with a weapon, of course, he's taken alive and even given back his gun. What a country.

Re:A little scary
Well considering the still-on-going corruption at the IRS where they targeted groups that "didn't fit the political narrative." I'd hazard that to be a yes, after all there's something like 25-30 people now who all worked on it, around it, and have "had their emails mysteriously disappear." The most recent case was another group of 5 employees emails who just suddenly had theirs disappear as well. So, at this point I wouldn't even be surprised.
People already know about the corruption at the BLS, people have seen it with the EPA. Do you really think there aren't people who'd be willing to engage in it from the CIA. Hell I'm not even american, but canadian and I can see this stuff from across the border clear as day.

Re:do they have a progressive view?
it's not the bigotry, its the fact they have no zoning laws and some megacorp can build a fertilizer plant next to residential housing and kill people when it explodes
or build some oil refinery next to someone's home and poison their air and waterWhile I'm sure that Texas has totally managed to avoid the scourge of zoning laws, the California approach has its own drawbacks that are becoming apparent, especially as California is now practically speaking a one party state run by Democrats with super majorities able to pass whatever they want.

Re:"this kind of site isn't limited to Republicans
Democrats have used fake websites, and their functionality depended on the purpose. Of course they have done more than that too, including running fake candidates.
Dems who created fake Tea Party candidates arraigned in Michigan
Reid Campaign Targets Angle Supporters With Phishing Website
Harry Reid’s campaign, however, took the code from the prior Angle website and launched a website called “TheRealSharronAngle.com.” The fake website was what, in internet terminology, is called spoofing, where a seemingly real website is created, usually to obtain information under false pretenses (frequently referred to as “phishing”).
...But the reality is that by creating a spoofed website with the contact and volunteer functions operable, the Reid campaign sought to obtain personally identifiable information about Angle supporters. At a minimum, such information about Angle supporters would have been gathered under false pretenses.
The phishing function also would have been disruptive to the Angle campaign because people who thought they had volunteered for the Angle campaign never would have been contacted to help out because they had, in fact, been tricked.
Regardless of whether the Reid campaign’s spoofing and phishing attempt was criminal, it was sleazy.
Is Reid Campaign Hiding Its Activities To Evade Campaign Finance Laws?

Very much so. And I will also point out that Eugene Volokh is quite an interesting fellow with a great blog. Lots of interesting commentary there. Legal Insurrection is another great legal blog.
Volokh worked for 12 years as a computer programmer. He graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in math-computer science at age 15, and has written many articles on computer software. Volokh was born in the USSR; his family emigrated to the U.S. when he was seven years old.

Re:I'm amazed...
I don't think at any time was Zimmerman's life was in danger.
Injuries to Zimmerman’s Head Were Potentially Life Threatening
Further testimony from Dr. Di Maio emphasized the life-threatening danger of blows to the head. He noted that intracranial bleeding is hidden, and often does not cause death until some hours after the injury that caused it. He also noted that axonal injury can occur even besides bleeding, causing brain damage. This undermines the State’s arguments that the blows to Zimmermans’ head were inconsequential and could not have represented the reasonable threat of death or grave bodily harm necessary to justify Zimmerman’s use of deadly force in self-defense. -

Zimmerman Trial Day 2 – Analysis of State’s Witnesses
Today can only be characterized as an utter debacle for the prosecution in Florida v. Zimmerman. Besides the testimony of a couple of highly professional law enforcement witnesses, the testimony of the the other State witnesses ranged from signing George Zimmerman’s praises, to acknowledging the utility of following a suspicious person from a distance, to being utterly discredited by razor sharp cross-examination of the defense.
The "unnecessary" part of the situation was Martin attacking Zimmerman. And yes, sad to say, 17 year old Trayvon Martin had traveled some way down the path of becoming a thug as you suggest.
