Pay?
My friend hosts my site. He runs the whole kit and cabootle from his desktop for free, using DYNDNS to give him a textual URL. All he has to do is pay for the Broadband line.
But his site is relativly low-traffic. It's at http://scanman.mine.nu . Except for a few times where he did something to it, his site has been running almost non-stop, and still does high-process operations. But again, I said his site is relativly low traffic, and may not be for you. He runs an Athelon 750 MHz. -

Re:Too bad it's not Freeswan
Reyk Floeter is doing work to port OpenBSD's isakmpd to the Linux ipsec_tunnel implementation. From the sounds of things, it actually works.
Unfortunetly, Reyk's web server has been down for some time, so I have been unable to get a copy to test it.
When coupled with isakmpd Tobias's IPSec tunnel implementation will be much closer to Free S/WAN feature-wise. Although, i'm not sure if Opportunistic Encryption will be supported by isakmpd.
As a user of Free S/WAN, ipsec_tunnel, and also non-IPSec tunnels on Linux, I can say that I found the ipsec_tunnel implentation to be a much easier to use.

IndentureCraig Pell (VGR), a fellow classic video game collector, wrote a DOS version of the 2600 Adventure game a while back called Indenture, which has over 200 rooms. Pretty good time waster!
You can get v1.7 here.

Re:Which distro should I install?
I'm currently running Windows XP and Suse 7.2. It has KDE 2 and Gnome 1-something. I'd like to install a more recent Linux distro (Suse or otherwise). I'm a fairly new Linux user. I'd also like to download it for free.
I'm glad you asked that question, Tommy. You see, there are many distributions of Linux, and although all of them suck, they all suck in different ways.
You see, Red Hat Linux is a 'baseline' Linux distribution. This is what a lot of other companies base their distribution off of because they're too lazy to think for themselves. The programs are relatively recent, but still stable.
Mandrake, is based off of the Red Hat standard. This distribution is at the bleeding edge of what sucks (x86 only though). If you like to use experimental code and have a new version of an rpm released as your downloading what was once the latest version, this distro is for you.
Debian is another base distro. This is a more relaxed pace. The people who gather the software that make this distro suck are very into the GPL and only Free Software is included in it. It is generally considered the most conservative of the various distros, meaning that you'll use stuff that everyone else has been complaing about for a few weeks already.
Storm is based off of Debian, and besides being from Vancouver, BC, it has nothing going for it. Use it for fun and profit, however.
Lindows Linux is now on version 2.0, as you see. Lindows Linux sucks in much the same way as all the others, except they make you pay to download aps that you can get for free under other distros. Maybe the artwork makes up for it. Maybe it's the wine (red, nicely aged. A bit fruity) they include.
Redmond Linux is the best Linux except for Lesbian Linux.
I hope that's helped you, Tommy. Now run along and remember, if it's not Linux, it doesn't suck.

How can i find out ALL of Microsoft's domains
is there any way to find out all of the subdomains at microsoft.com (or msn.com) ?
ie:
sa.microsoft.com
windowsmedia.microsoft.c om
msid.msn.com
or can they create subdomains that are completly secret (until found out)
as i would like a list of every microsoft subdomain (and msn domains) so i can add them to the Host file project so they can be selectivly blocked ?
any help would be apreciated as i already have an extensive list of MS domains but i would really like to grab them all (and any future ones) :) -

Re:TROLL LINK! Don't Click!
I blew my mod points, so I can't moderate... the link above redirects you to a gay porno site.
Linuxiso.org is a gay porno site? Not until they put up a page for Lesbian Linux. And someone's already submitted the link, so don't bother.

Why?
Why do you cheer about this! Do you ENJOY pain? I installed $lackware on my machine and it was torture! My computer was weezing and crying that i installed a Operating System worse than windows! It has no proper packge management, you just unzip tgzes and hope for the best. It has a half assed text based setup tool and and only supports the obsolete and unreliable ext/2 file systems. You have to edit at least 2000 text files to get the damn thing working and it only supports systems made before 1993!
HINT : Go and buy yourself a real distrobution or download a real one -
rpm -e rpm #not only is it doomed, but also cursed
i suggest doing
rpm -e rpm quickly
and reading this guide on apt-get
apt-get.mine.nu -
Re:Thank you Fiver-rah
Sounds like you could use some Lesbian GNU/Linux
Seriously you made some good points - but not all the people (men?) that will be at the parties will be the stereotype you present.
Some of us will be decent people who just happen to like Mozilla - well I say us, but there's no party in Scotland
:( -
Another analogy
Colette in one of her stories complains that lesbian parties are too easily consumed by talk about men, whereas at gay male sex orgies, it's all about gay male sex. This raises all kinds of questions about sexual identity, but you can't begin to understand this without considering the social inequality of the sexes.
Similar arguments could be made about Linux identity politics. Once you take into account the gross inequalities in the field of operating systems, you begin to understand why so many members of the Linux community define themselves in opposition to Microsoft.
btw, this is just an analogy, and by no means an endorsement of Lesbian GNU/Linux.

RE: Distro SitesTry this one
;-)The site is at least pleasant to use. However, owing to a 10gb of BSD/Linux ISO's (all less than 1 week old) I've yet to try this distro. O blessed be the bandwidth!

Re:Try this Hosts file link
Try my host file project remember.mine.nu
Your hosts file project? Much of the text under your linux section is ripped verbatim from a web page that I have had up for nearly two years and wrote entirely myself.
I don't claim to have invented the process, but I sure didn't steal anyone's text, either. You obviously added some content to your site that did not exist on mine, but stealing the linux section was quite the heinous act.
Compare this section on your site:
Linux users note :
If your Hosts file is not in the above locations , then you will need to find your existing hosts file. If it is completely empty, you can replace it with this Hosts file. If it is not empty, which will probably be the case, you will want to be sure to save any information that is in there is safe and/or make a backup copy of your current hosts file.
If there are currently entries in your existing hosts file, then open this Hosts file. Copy the text from it to add to the bottom of any existing text in your current hosts file. This will ensure that your current entries will still work for you, and that you do not corrupt your network properties.
Try one of these solutions to enable
Try logging out and logging back in first.
Do a "killall -hup inetd" (without the quotes) while having root privileges, which will restart the inetd process and you should not require a reboot.
In BSD or Mandrake (or your Linux distro), you can try opening a console window and using these commands (no quotes):
"telinit 3", to switch from runlevel 5 to runlevel 3
"telinit 5", which will restart many daemones en route to putting you back in runlevel 5 and into the GUI
If none of those work, then you may have to reboot for the file to take effect.
... with this section of my site. Notice any similarities? What a thief you appear to be.
Also compare these two pages:
Your site.
My site.
You also ran into a problem by quoting an old page on my site that incorrectly referred to the problem service as the "DNS Server" rather than the "DNS Client."
Quite a few people have reported that there is no Win2k service called DNS Server. They report that it should be the DNS Client service
Perhaps if you had asked to link to my site you would now have the correct information on yours?
Kindly remove any and all portions of your site that you apparently so blatantly stole from mine.
Can you say, "busted?" -

Re:apple.slashdot.org?
hotgrits.slashdot.org
For when "releasing Woody" doesn't involve Debian.
Where else will you find geek eroticism?
Well, I guess there is always the Lesbian Linux distro.
Before the shame sets in, lemme add
petrified.slashdot.org for pinups
allyourbase.slashdot.org for wars, terrorism, political revolution.
there, that last one made me feel a bit less dirty. 'Cuz violence is always more acceptable than sex (in post-puritan USA!)
