So Socialism = antithesis of individual expression
So capitalism is great at fostering individual musical expressions, but socialism helps foster lowest-common-denominator musical pablum. Got it.
(Of course the tiny problem with this theory is that Sweden isn't really socialist. "Sweden is not socialist -- because the government doesn't own the means of production. To see that, you have to go to Venezuela or Cuba or North Korea.")

Re:Quick, Move Them!!
Those payoffs were not a crime.
But you know what IS a crime, what is conspiracy and collusion? Paying a foreign agent to use made-up (Russian, even!) lies to build a fake dossier to attack your political opponent. And lying about it. Which is exactly what The Clinton campaign and the DNC did. Shall we look into that? I mean, they have a history of collusion, starting with colluding with the media to rig the debates...

Re:It's time to MPGA
Buzzfeed is the source downstream of all the other press agencies pushing this. The news came out that the author of the article said he didn't see them, even though he claimed he did.> have another source if you want.

Re: You mean the Democrat Shutdown
The republican house approved a version that Trump would sign but it never made it to the Senate vote because there were not enough votes from Democrats.

Re:"I just send the rockets up"
It's because you're buying into the strawman argument about the D's wanting to have totally open borders.
The Democrats have become the party of illegal immigration and transgender bathroom "rights".
They support the "sanctuary" city/states. They cry when Trump calls MS13 animals. They act hysterical when Trump has the same policy as Obama. They are the ones against a wall, deportations, and an end to chain migration. They are the ones who are happy their white grandchildren children want to be brown.
-
Re:The false drives out the true
There is no straw man - see all the poutrage directed at Black Lives Matter protestors.
You mean the leftist hate group that was founded by leftists that idolized a cop-killing, black supremacist that fled to Cuba? A group that drummed up a phony narrative that there was an epidemic of blacks being killed by police? A group more concerned about a tiny number of controversial police killings versus the vast majority of black-on-black murders?

Re:It ACTUALLY does not happen
If those that demand no Voter Identification were concerned for the poor, they'd facilitate the acquisition of ID, not seek ways to avoid it. After all, what's the best job you ever had where you didn't need to identify yourself?
Only ONE party disapproves of measures to make our elections secure, and also your president lied to you. Voter ID is NOT a function of America's "racist past". EVERY COUNTRY THAT'S not a dictatorship has some form of assuring that the person voting is entitled to. EVERY COUNTRY.
NAACP requires photo ID to attend anti-voter-ID protest march
California liberals allege voter fraud, demand voter ID. Democrats think voter identification laws are important for their party elections, but think they're not important when it comes to our elections.
Maxine Waters, an advocate against voter ID, requires an ID to attend her town hall meeting.
Hillary Clinton's Book Tour. Valid Photo ID Required. Suppressing minority turnout, or is this one of those things that's OK when Democrats do it but wrong when anyone else does it?

Re:You know you're joking
That's because he is down to more or less just his psycho base supporters. An alarmingly large group but they support him no matter how crazy he gets.
Actually it's because the public has become immune to the constant Russia hysteria. When a CNN producer (John Bonifield) and a news anchor (Van Jones) are caught on video saying that "there's nothing to the Russia collusion", and "we talk about it all the time for ratings", people tend to stop believing the collusion narrative.
Since Trump came into office, the US is exporting weapons to Ukraine and cutting into Russia's profits on energy exports, it becomes difficult to accuse him of working for Russia as those are actions that were directly in his power that work against Russia.

Re:Intolerance
The left aren't the ones making travel bans for muslims.
Islam is the most intolerant, violent, and supremacist religion on Earth. Sane people want to limit immigration, which is not a right, from this violent and supremacist culture. The left wants to import them in massive numbers, and will call you an "Islamophobe" and "xenophobe" if you don't.
They aren't the ones ostracizing LGBT people.
The left wants 99.9% of society to re-engineer itself to recognize the delusions of the 0.1% of transgender people. Some guy "identifies" as a woman, and he wants to hang out with biological women with his male genitalia hanging out.
They aren't the ones advocating for police brutality.
Black Lies Matter was a phony narrative that did not stand up to scrutiny. The end result has been dead cops and more dead blacks due to less policing in crime-ridden neighborhoods.
They aren't the ones trying to disenfranchise minorities from voting.
The left wants to disenfranchise American citizens by flooding the country with illegals and making it harder to reserve rights for American citizens. That's why they put up a big stink when the US Census was going to ask about citizenship status, because they're afraid illegals won't be counted for congressional representation and the electoral college.
By the way, even the majority of minorities support voter id laws.
They aren't the ones pushing against womens rights to control their reproductive systems.
Just ignore the human life that's terminated by these "womens rights".
You think the left is intolerant?
Yes, I think harassing people in public, hounding them out of their jobs, and shutting down their free speech events is massively intolerant.
When over 90% of black people and the majority of other minorities vote for the left it's because they think (correctly) that the right is actively working against them.
No, it's because they are on the Democrat welfare plantation.
Tell you what, go ahead and tell a conservative christian that you are gay and that jesus is a lie and see what happens to you.
For fuck's sake, "piss christ" was an actual thing, and nothing happened. Do you know what would happen if you actually performed this experiment? They would probably politely tell you to stop bothering them.
Now go post a sign that says, "It's okay to be white", and see what happens.

Re: Collusion
I don't recall making any mention of race, in fact I didn't even say anything about the past administration other than to simply present links of comments by your liberal gods that show the massive hypocrisy of your side. You all cheered and agreed with what they said then but now you're the ones that are horrifying and whining and you refuse to admit it. But why is it anytime someone says anything about the worst President to ever occupy the Oval office you immediately jump to race? How do you even know what my race is? Typical leftist playbook, don't address the facts, instead call names.
But seriously "ran America better"? Did the worst economic recovery in history show you that? Did the record number of people on food stamps show you that? Or maybe it was when the Obama administration altered the formula for determining the unemployment number to drop all of those who stopped looking, while today even according to the NYT since Trump's has reversed or halted many of Obama's policies we're at statistically 0 unemployment.
Oh and of course there's always the signature ACA legislation where if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor and how they admitted to having lied to stupid Americans to get it passed. And now of course we see that there really is no affordable in the ACA, but that rates are skyrocketing and it is taking the deficit with it.
Please list the accomplishments of which you speak. Considering he was in office for 8 years and Trump has only been in office 500 days I'm sure you can find many more instances of his successes than the current President.
And I won't even get started on foreign policy like Libya, Afghanistan, Iran, etc.

Re:There are real issues [Re:Heil Hillary as manda
Nazis are usually considered 'far right'.
I don't dispute that they are "usually considered" that.
If you'd like to argue otherwise, I'd like to see a similar (or better) standard of evidence to support your claim.
How about an analysis from a former Marxist and accomplished economist?
Back in the 1920s, however, when fascism was a new political development, it was widely -- and correctly -- regarded as being on the political left. Jonah Goldberg's great book "Liberal Fascism" cites overwhelming evidence of the fascists' consistent pursuit of the goals of the left, and of the left's embrace of the fascists as one of their own during the 1920s.
Mussolini, the originator of fascism, was lionized by the left, both in Europe and in America, during the 1920s. Even Hitler, who adopted fascist ideas in the 1920s, was seen by some, including W.E.B. Du Bois, as a man of the left.
It was in the 1930s, when ugly internal and international actions by Hitler and Mussolini repelled the world, that the left distanced themselves from fascism and its Nazi offshoot -- and verbally transferred these totalitarian dictatorships to the right, saddling their opponents with these pariahs. -
Re:Trump is gonna be pissed.
Did they ever release any actual evidence the Russians hacked the DNC?
Mueller's investigation has been almost entirely without leaks, but it was learned that Guccifer 2.0 did in fact slip up and failed to activate his VPN client and exposed himself as being a particular GRU officer who was working out of the agency’s headquarters on Grizodubovoy Street in Moscow. This is a fact that is now accepted across the political spectrum.
https://www.thedailybeast.com/...
https://townhall.com/tipsheet/...
Even the sitting President's own lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, is now working from the talking points that say that the Russian interference in the election (including the hack) was a "gift" from Russia and so it's not collusion.
"Giuliani initially disputed the notion that Trump’s daily citing, in the final month of his campaign, of Russian-aligned WikiLeaks and its release of Russian-stolen emails constituted “colluding” with Russia.
“It is not,” Giuliani said.
Then he switched tacks.
“OK, and if it is, it isn’t illegal... It was sort of like a gift,” he said. “And you’re not involved in the illegality of getting it.”

Step 1: Voter ID
If those that demand no Voter Identification were concerned for the poor, they'd facilitate the acquisition of ID, not seek ways to avoid it. After all, what's the best job you ever had where you didn't need to identify yourself? I'm just confused how anyone buys beer or cold medicine without an ID. WTF?

California liberals allege voter fraud, demand voter ID. LOL. Democrats think voter identification laws are important for their party elections, but think they're not important when it comes to our elections.
Maxine Waters, an advocate against voter ID, requires an ID to attend her town hall meeting.
Hillary Clinton's Book Tour. Valid Photo ID Required. Wait, isn't this suppressing minority turnout? Why's it racist when we do it in our super-important elections, but Hillary does it for her book-signing and suddenly it's not racist? Someone want to take a stab at this one?

Re:whodathunkit
In the most recent Presidential election, we were given the choice between a candidate that was absolutely unacceptable and one whom we were willing to vote for, even if we had to hold our noses as we did. Which one was which is something that I'll leave as an exercise for the reader.
I have seen some buyers remorse on the R side. The D side seems preoccupied with reliving the past and speculating what small detail could have tipped it their way - ignoring the more obvious point that if they had only run a decent candidate it would have been an easy sweep.
Pro tips for 2018:
1) >50% of the population is white. Stop hating on white people and putting down whole states as racist deplorables.
2) Almost 50% of the population is male. Constantly criticizing men won't help your cause either.
3) Economics for the 99% is >330 times more important than corner cases like transgenders in the military. Focus on broad issues of real importance.

Re: Jews, blacks, and the disabled not welcome
Did U Know? that poverty was going down in Appalachia until they started buying into racist dogwhistles and voting for Republican governance? You can look it up.
To be honest I'm not a big D nor R fan, though I dislike them for different reasons. The Democrats favor social engineering and have decided that white people and men are both bad (citation below). As I'm both that isn't appealing to me. Their non-stop race baiting is off-putting. If they decided that they were willing to drop the race baiting and go back to trying to focus on the working poor - upper middle class then I'd be happy to vote for them. The Republicans are a mix of rich for the rich but they at least don't call me names for the crime of being born white and male. To my mind they are both run by mega donors, you just have a choice of Soros vs Koch brothers. I dislike both.

Who is the "We" here?
We Can't Trust Facebook To Regulate Itself
Just who is this omniscient and benevolent "We" here? Why TF is this blatant power-grab of other people's property not flamed to death by the outraged Slashdotters? Where are the supposed "anti-Fascists", when Fascism is marching on in the guise of "sensible regulations"?
Facebook is not a government agency to merit the concern of taxpayers — it is a business. They are neither vitally important for human survival (like food or medicine), nor are they poisoning rivers, etc. — so the usual excuses to "sensibly regulate" do not apply. Unless you are a stock-holder, back off!

against the God-anointed King.
No, it was not against the King — it was for Independence. For self-government. The so-called "Antifa" aren't opposing the Federal government at all — they're happy to see its power expand (which, accidentally, makes them Fascist). They simply don't like the current President, that's all.
But I suppose that was OK.
Whether that was Ok or not, thanks for conceding, that the violence of today's "Antifa" is not accidental, but pervasive and systematic, and encouraged by the rest of the organization.

Socialism is Communism-lite
Ignorance. Socialism is not communism.
True. Socialism is Communism-lite. The difference is merely in the degree. The (glorious) Collective is more important and trumps the Individual. And, as Karl Marx taught us, Socialism is merely a stepping stone to Communism.
Socialism accepts private ownership of anything, including the means of production.
Nope, not the actual Karl Marx' version of it. But, whether the means of production are ostensibly private owned or in outright government possession is of no importance — a distinction without difference — when the government can control any aspect of the production it chooses to. And it can, through that vastly giant loophole of "sensible regulations" you allow it to have.
[...] you fear socialists are going to seize the means of production from you? It doesn't work like that.
It works exactly like that. There is not argument for nationalizing public education, that can not also be made — indeed, is already made — for nationalizing public health care, or public housing, or public Internet service provision, public science, music and other arts.
Some countries are further along down this path — to their patently obvious detriment — than others. Like I said, a matter of degree, a quantitative rather than qualitative difference. The greater the share of the GDP, that is spent by the government, the greater the degree of Collectivism in the country...
The worst you have to fear are sensible regulations
Who the fook are you to "sensibly regulate", what I am doing in my house or what sort of thing I sell to willing buyers?
Oohh, scary.
Yes, it is awfully scary, that despite being the most murderous school of thought known to humanity, the branches of Collectivism (Fascism, Socialism, Communism) continue to appear attractive to a substantial proportion of population... You'd be appalled to meet an asshole in a KKK-outfit, but a far more dangerous asshole in a Che Guevara T-shirt hardly raises an eyebrow. Indeed, I suspect, I may be conversing with one on Slashdot right now...

The Genius of Trump’s Tweets
An other article from today calls Trump a genius.
https://townhall.com/columnist...
"He is able to speak directly to the American people without going through the biased mainstream media filter. The media doesn’t get to ask him slanted questions or pick and choose parts of his press releases to publish. Instead, Trump gets immense control over every single sentence he issues, which are then read by millions of Americans. "
Regardless whether you love or hate the man, you do have to admit it is an effective way to deal with unfriendly media.

No claim that voting machines were hackedFrom The Hill:
The report does not claim that voting machines were hacked, a once-popular post-election theory from Democrats, nor does it state whether the information pertaining to the voting systems could be used to hack those systems.
As opined by Matt Vespa> , "still, 55 percent of Democrats think that Russia messed with the vote totals to get Trump elected. The Left has gone insane. Like the rest of the Russian collusion drama, there is no evidence that vote tallies were tampered with by a foreign intelligence service."

I'm sorry but that degree of spin is utterly nauseating. You linked to a blog page (from the conservative blogosphere) that took a 2 second sound bite from an interview and then linked to another conservative commentary. You could have just as well linked to Mallard Fillmore at that point. Your link does not support your claim of the Obama white house doing political unmasking, rather it shows that conservative commentators love to propagate the conspiracy that they did.
>> "The Tea Party regularly encourages people to find every way they can - legal or not - to reduce their taxes."
Where has anyone even made the claim the tea party is encouraging illegal tax cheating?
People who call themselves parts of the Tea Party frequently boast about cheating the tax system. Politicians allied with the Tea Party are the ones most often caught "forgetting" to declare income sources that affect their taxes. It goes on from there but you don't seem worried about that.
In any case the IRS requested information about what the tea party orgs were mailing, claiming, and even their prayer information.
The first two are standard for any group who wants to file for tax exempt status. It's merely due process to ensure that the group who is asking for this special status is really involved in activities that do not exclude them from that status. The third part there is absolutely no support for. Just because some angry Tea Partier claimed it happened - and then of course conveniently misplaced all the documentation supporting their claim that it happened - does not mean it did.
No such information was requested for MediaMatters, DailyKos, MoveOn, etc.
DailyKos does not have the status that the Tea Party filed for. None of the three you list have ever advocated for people to cheat the tax system, either.

Re:it's VERMONT
Yeah, less hangups, so much less, a Mississippilegislator didn't call for a lynching when some Confederate monuments were removed. Oh wait, he did.
Not to mention the racially motivated gerrymandering.
It's never racism in Alabama. Never.
Tell us another one. A funny one this time.
