Re:I cant trust the Democrats anymore
sexually assaulting 3 different women and then both lying about it under oath and revealing extreme partisan bias in the process
This is where Dems accuse Republicans of what they have done. They defend domestic abuser Keith Ellison while propping up lies in highly partisan fashion.
Thankfully, the most liberal Republican, Susan Collins, was not bullied and saw through this smear campaign, and is casting a principled vote.
Maybe the Dems can run on something other than their Maoist struggle session tactics.

Bad dude?
He's an incompetent rich faggot made famous by convincing Conservatives he's one of them despite this and playing to their latent homosexual nazi fantasies of mattering again, (never will, poor dumb coal-fired bastards) yet sadly hangs for treason anyway, because he's so damn incompetent and probably the dumbest traitor in the history of New Jersey faggots manipulated by foreign dictators.

Re:Apple and Others Respond
As we are on Slashdot, technological details matter much more than mere speculations
So playing devil's advocate here: They could have modified the design, burying the extra traces in interior layers
Please watch the two videos below. First link, the making of PCB. https://www.youtube.com/watch?... Second one, the 'pick and place machines' which put and solder in the various components (capacitors, resistors, et cetera) on PCBs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?... There are multiple check and verification processes, and if the design had been tampered with, the motherboard would have failed the myriads of built-in verification processes.
I already know how they are made, thanks. If you are the company building the boards then you have access, by necessity, to the to design of the boards. If you are also working covertly with a government to modify those boards, you would have the expertise and support available to you to do so successfully. This isn't some script kiddie, this is a nation state we are talking about. They could have entire production facilities at their control where they could build compromised boards and then sneak them back into the supply chain after assembly if they wanted to. I mean what's a small board fab and assembly facility cost to spin up in China, $10-$20 million? It's a government, they could do that easily.
As for failing verification, not likely. Again: nation state. They will have access to top engineers and intelligence on the QA process the boards would go through. -

Re:He hasn't had a trial
Hello, let me tell you about a man named Merrick Garland.
Senator Hatch: âoeThe president told me several times heâ(TM)s going to name a moderate [to fill the court vacancy], but I donâ(TM)t believe him. [Obama] could easily name Merrick Garland, who is a fine man. He probably wonâ(TM)t do that because this appointment is about the election. So Iâ(TM)m pretty sure heâ(TM)ll name someone the [liberal Democratic base] wants.â
Different situation.
The policy to not consider a SC justice during that close to a president election actually came much earlier, from our old friend Joe Biden.
So, this was actually a Democratic policy that was put forth a long time ago ('92?)....

Re:Meanwhile Apple gets $9B/year from Google
The "secret sauce" to Google's products is their engineers, algorithms, and more recently, AI - and of course, their vast and unparalleled collection of user data put-together helps. Not to mention collective user analysis to better predict users, their buying habits, and to ultimately influence them (e.g. filter bubble).
It wouldn't be strange if they sold portions of user data to any entity, as long as it doesn't give the complete picture about that person. e.g. they can sell all they know about your health issues to insurance companies, without exposing your risky behaviour or things you get up to in your time, such as your drinking/drug use, and looking for prostitutes every 2 days after midnight in x-radius area, etc.
Just as we know they likely sell a small subset of our data related to products we might be interested in, in the recent past, and other related data which shows your wealth and how affluent you are, to big buyers such as retailers so they can charge a different price to each individual.
We also know from Snowdon's revelations that Google is basically an arm of NSA, they work closely together, and in part, Google gives away vast sums and even user data to the government in exchange for relaxed laws that benefit themselves - i.e. Google is one of the biggest US Gov lobbyist (briber).

Re:SpaceX vs. NASA, ULA, Boeing, Lockheed, etc.
DISCOVR is at the L1 Lagrangian point, in deep space.
Pics or it didn't happen. There is not a single picture of a satellite in orbit or deep space taken from the ground, yet we allegedly have telescopes that can see distant galaxies. That is the real conspiracy.
I watched the Falcon 9 launch that. There have been a number of geosynchronous or geostationary satellites, as well, and the car is in a trans-martian orbit.
Satellites do not exist in space, that's just a cash grab to steal taxes from dumb plebs who don't realize that far cheaper Ground Based Tower Networks are how you get all Cellular and "Sat" TV signals. I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop. It is in my lap, not space. This is because the word "satelitte" means a unit that is located around a hub. A TV satellite network is a collection of TOWERS that are connected to a central hub. The public is daft, and will pay millions for literally nothing (well, they're testing ICBM engines, but that's about it, the rockets fall into the sea, they don't go to space).
Care to explain this leaked NASA footage of Apollo 11 astronauts faking an image of earth, claiming to be 1/2 way to the moon, while still in low earth orbit? If the lie is big enough and the media well controlled, even the smart folks will be fooled. Fact is: You have not really researched anything about space. I've given you some starting points. Find me one real picture of a satellite in space taken from the ground -- you can't, they're all just weather balloons and towers. Space is mostly just faked shit, a government pork cash grab preying on your nerdly fantasies.
Knowledge is Power. Rulers do not give Power to serfs like you.

Liars for the Military Industrial Complex ...
Space Ex is only cheap because they lose money on every flight and cut corners with safety.
That's a blatant lie.
Lockheed Martin has been wasting tax money with corner cutting and failures for decades:
Just one example, and far from an isolated incident:
Investigation showed that Titan K-17, which was several years old and the last Titan IV-A to be launched, had dozens of damaged or chafed wires and should never have been launched in that operating condition, however the Air Force put extreme pressure on launch crews to meet program deadlines. The ultimate cause of the failure was an electrical short that caused a momentary power dropout to the guidance computer at T+39 seconds. After power was restored, the computer sent a spurious pitch down and yaw to the right command. At T+40 seconds, the Titan was travelling at near supersonic speed and could not handle this action without suffering a structural failure. In any case, the Titan's fuselage was filled with numerous sharp metal protrusions that made it nearly impossible to install, adjust, or remove wiring without it getting damaged. Quality control at Lockheed's Denver plant, where Titan vehicles were assembled, was described as "awful".

Re:Lockheed has made big promises before...
You must be one of these bright young engineers surfing a bit of Slashdot on company time.
Those bright young Lockheed engineers fall under the leadership of Rick Ambrose, who recently said, "Lockheed Martin's business model is to bill federally contracted hours". I'd put that in a block quote, but I can't find a link to Rick's speech where he made that statement in an attempt to mitigate the near riotous discontent inside Lockheed shortly after the Falcon Heavy test flight, featuring Starman in a Tesla Roadster. One of those bright, young Lockheed engineers that heard that speech in person conveyed that the room full of engineers he was in became visibly angry at Rick's overall speech, because like the rest of Lockheed's senior leadership, he's completely out of touch. That bright young engineer recently abandoned Lockheed for greener pastures. And overall, Lockheed is having a very hard time attracting and keeping new talent. They've bumped up their pay to try to compete, but their stodgy, bureaucratic and inefficient culture is a bit much to take for someone that is actually motivated and intelligent. There are simply too many more rewarding places to work.
Lockheed pays a lot of money and works hard to polish their public image. Look at all the positive publicity around the Juno spacecraft orbiting Jupiter.
In reality, Lockheed dropped the ball on integrating and testing other vendor supplied components, and they nearly lost this spacecraft. It was saved by some bright folks at JPL, not by Lockheed.
In order to make up for the propulsion system failure and the unintended orbit that this spacecraft is now in, the mission has been extended, and guess who's paying for it? Yep, the US taxpayers! Thanks Lockheed! The press releases have all been polished very nicely. Lockheed really really wants those government checks to keep flowing.
Lockheed definitely has a lot of success in space, but with their costs and whitewashed inefficiencies, and the recent success of a more market driven competitive approach to funding and awarding contracts, why keep throwing good money after bad?

Re:Mario, Zelda, Pokemon?
I don't know if I fully fault them either.
It is... Nintendo basically is an insular company, for instance starfox wouldn't have died as a property if they'd given it to Voltion (the people who made freespace 1 and 2) see below...
Freespace 2 open (vid)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
Starfox Zero WiiU review
http://www.metacritic.com/game...
Freespace 2 score metacritic
https://www.metacritic.com/gam...
Basically Team voltion/descent has been rotting for 20 years as Miyamoto and company have fucked the pooch on starfox franchise, even though that team is probably the best space combat making game on the planet. Nintendo not having a general understanding of what it means to be a gamer that games on all platforms has passed up opportunity after opportunity to get western devs to make good use of their IP's.
Nintendo's japanese teams never made a good transition to the HD era, all of there games have suffered quality issues outside of maybe mario and kart and Smash brothers.
Another big mistake was not getting Team Vigil (of darksiders 1 fame) to do a Zelda game. Even though darksiders 1 is better than all the zelda games Nintendo made outside of maybe latter half of windwaker.

Re:Verizon mush have the most screwed up org chart
Or they've just been around a long time and promoted people into management instead of having some kind of dual ladder that allows people to be promoted as engineers or other roles. People come and go, but the management tends to stick around well past the best by date or gets promoted into yet another rung of middle management. One day they wake up and it's seven layers of management between anyone making a decision and anyone who can actually carry it out and a fun game of telephone in between. I'm sure that some of them have people skills though.

Re:Easy to get: lightspeed ram + Luke
Why did no one fly jumbo jets into a skyscraper until 2001-09-11?
Why you skipping the park about Kamikaze pilots? If a single Zero could disable or sink a battleship, instead of merely starting a deck fire, naval warfare would have an entirely different history.
Using spaceships as weapons is a horrible waste of resources unless it's the only option available, so it might not even stand out as an option.
Throwing away expensive X-Wings and X-Wing pilots (also previously mentioned) is a horrible waste of resources to take down Imperial cruisers when a hunk of lightspeed junk will do the same job.
Alderaan was a peaceful planet. They had no weapons.
Pedant fail: peaceful != unarmed. Jedi are peaceful. They are also armed. Given that pirates and warlords have been around for millennia, that the Clone Wars were still a recent event, and that Alderaan has been invaded before, there's no way they aren't going to at least have the equivalent of the Coast Guard in the system.
The Star Destroyers could do that with turbo lasers
Star Destroyers that can be shot down by enemy ships or planetary defenses. As opposed to any old ship flying from outside a solar system directly into a planet.
but the Death Star was intended to strike fear into the galactic populace
So what. The DS wasn't the first superweapon, and it wasn't the last. You know what else would strike fear into the hearts of a populace? A Hutt obliterating a continent with a lighspeed mass driver, and it would be such a shame if the rest of their nice planet met the same fate if they didn't pay one millllllllllllion dollars in extortion.
But that hasn't happened. Because while there has been no shortage of shitty Star Wars plots and ideas, no one had a clusterfuck of this magnitude until Rian Johnson came along.

Re:Very reasonable increase
Mmmm. Clearly I'll have to upgrade my utopian-vision generator; reality has overtaken the version I have...

The worst, not the best
Nothing user serviceable, everything glued together, good luck with a battery swap in two years,
..! Also the N-trig touch screens are know for phantom touches and dead zones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?... I got the Pro 2 and 3 and will not buy another one. Also the kickstand tablet form factor does not work the best for me, not in air planes, nor in an armchair. -
Re:Just do what I did: Don't go to see it
Rogue One was quite good. Completely different from TFA and TLJ, and generally geared towards more adult audiences. It has a slow start but the last 1/2 hour has some of the best scenes in all SW movies, and some original music too.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?... Otherwise I agree with you, definitely not gonna wacth episode 9 after what they did in 7 and 8...

Appropriate Soundtrack
Here's Carl Orff's "O Fortuna" from Carmina Burana. For best results, start plating at 2:17:36 Eastern, preferably in an environment with a lot of cell phones.
Then sit back and brace for the Toad pic to come.

Sure, I can buy that!
But here is something that isn't made up: The incredibly high cost of trolls pollution on the economy. We have to act together my friends!
